  • perry can i work cite you?

  • Apple seems to have patented the first holographic technology. It's only a matter of time before violent holograms begin to turn our kids into psychotic killing machines that will overthrow human civilization as we know it, in turn becoming post-apocalypse rapists who froth at the mouth with unholy fury and rage.

Let's face it, people. The spirit of Jack Ass will live on far into the future. I mean Jack Thompson, sorry.

  • I agree with you. and I like how your load-outs are the same names for the code names used for the D-Day landings in 1944

  • Hey perry, this is a really interesting topic and i would love to write a paper on it when school begins, and i was wondering if u mind that i use sentences from ur paper in mine. of course they would be quoted.

  • You're completely right. The bais against violent video games is from mods from early games to make them as 'training' for those shootings, specifically Columbine.

  • i wrote a few papers on this too with the same conclusion. the day i have an urge to go on a school shooting or anything is the day ill stop playing violent video games.

  • I'm printing this to convince my parents to get me modern warefare 3

  • Uh guys, this is the wrong bomb.

  • Here in germany a few young politicians wanted to let older, more conservative politicians play violent videogames, so they could think about their opionion saying there is a link between those games and real violence. The biggest advocate of this thesis didnt show up and said "I dont want to learn how to kill humans to make myself a picture of what this games are like."

  • i quoted you in an essay in a persuasive essay i had to right.

  • I believe that violent video games make someone hipped up. But I do believe that if you are crazy you should not play video games.

  • usually when I dont play Obj i get destroyed. Bomb plants control spawns and if you can get certian bombs off in demo first it makes the game a lot easier

  • LAWL... The media think´s that violent video games make ppl crazy? How about all the fucked up news with random rapes and murders everyday, does they make you wanna punch a pregnat kid with a balistic knife? Maybe.

  • i did a debate paper on this in 8th grade!!!!

  • Awesome video. I agree that games can be a trigger, not a cause.

  • Im from germany and we had a school schooting like the one in clombine in 2005 or so. That started a huge debate that lacked any kind of objetiveness. So called specialist said that you could rape people in video games and that you get extra points for shooting civilians and stuff. That just makes me angry because video gamers here dont have a lobby and cant defend themselves...

  • Some prick in my class took your essay and handed it in and I called him out. I felt special. :D

  • One of my teachers told my class a story about a man who watched a show on "dexter", and he decided he would kill the bad guys, but he didn't know who the bad guys were. So, he picked a random name on a phone book, got ready to kill him, and he tried, but did not succeed. This seemed to influence my teacher a lot, but she never really mentioned that he was a pyschopath...

  • The Miedia is always looking for a scapegoat

a Form of Virtul violence persay Call of duty, or another other "Violent" Video game or just the Gaming in general is going to be used

Without such scapegoats, Mothers wouldn't protest over them causing more media panic, making the owners of media based companys money

In the end its never about the games, orthe public reaction, its just another way of causing as much media to stream around as possible so they get more money...

    Money...

  • I wish i could like this video more than once.

  • You so right - I'm a psychology student, and even our lecturers will say that the argument of video games causing violence is stupid. No academic makes such claims.

  • the same amount of murders happen now as they when our parents were growing up. the media just puts a bigger emphasis on it now.

  • Great points made, 100% agree. If my parents come at me with something along these lines, I'm going straight to this video/your paper. lol

  • What you have got to remember OP is that the majority of young males (and females) in most cultures play video games. The fact is, that there is still no direct link between video games and violence. You would think with the amount of people playing these games there would be thousand's of thousand's of good examples. However there aren't, in fact there are virtually non. I completely agree with you.

  • I love Halo, but that does not mean I want to put on armor and walk into a battlefield

  • cutommentary... next quad?

  • @OperatorPerry Permission to use your paper as a source for a presentation I will be giving to my speech class about the same topic. Don't worry nothing in your paper will be used in my power-point. I will just be putting you as a source because I wanted to use the articles you stated in your paper as the main sources for mine and my teacher said that I had to cite your paper.

  • Penn & Teller did a pretty interesting show about this topic. I suggest you check it out : )

  • This guy stole your essay just so you know...

    It's a tiny url link /4ph3bk4

  • I personally think, it's like saying that drugs kill braincells/make people go dumb, when in actual fact, it's because the only people that take the drugs are the dumb ones.

How long did you spend writing that paper?

  • I think you're right basically, however, violent games and movies will get children used to violence, which isn't very healthy, so they shouldn't be introduced at a too young age. And of course they make some people snap.

  • You got violent by your own mind, you're crazy dude.

  • its like gun control, both are really slurred topics by the media. fucking ridiculous.

  • @Soccrfreak27 OMG ITS GRANT

  • You're the smartest person I've ever heard..

  • hahah way ta stick it to tha man perry U ROCK!

  • i fucking knew you'd bring up columbine. <3333333

  • im writing an essay on this topic for school, thanks for the info:)

  • RIGHT ! :)

  • Cod =/= Gamer

  • subbed love ur vids

  • what about killing someone with a chopper gunner? go out and rent a chopper to kill someone :D

  • @8:56 perry gets mad because he plays video games.

  • i read your essay and you have some pretty solid points

  • i read your paper and it was quite good. i did a similar one on metal and moral panics/censorship in 8th grade. im a senior in high school now, and looking back at it it sounded pretty good for an 8th grader haha

  • something always has to take the blame for someones actions. people always blame video games, insanity, peer pressure but at the end of the day they need to just own up and face the consequences for what they did.

  • We as humans are only really scared by things we don't understand, overprotective parents who have never played the same video games or have never socialised with certain (possibly violent) crowds/groups will be scared of them, because they don't understand them. This will never change and there will always be the people who assume things because of wrong facts.

Theres a thing a major told me from he British Paras:

"Asumption is the mother of all fuck ups"

    Perry, you're the truth.

  • saying video games are linked to violence is like saying cakes are linked with ducks

  • @sycowill they are linked. they are both damn tasty

  • I'm a senior in high school and I just wrote a thesis paper about this same topic. I found the same thing, that it is complete bull. It seems like the generation above us has literally no idea what video games actually are. When a kid who plays them commits a violent act they don't think, oh he had violent tendencies beforehand, they see he played video games (satan) and immediately assume that's the cause. But the great hypocrisy is that they go home and watch violent TV without thinking twice.

  • the media is the ppl reuining the minds of ppl secret government called (illuminate)

  • Permision to use your research paper for an assignment i need to turn in?

  • @IMAlGiNGER Permission denied.

  • @OperatorPerry damn lol thought I'd ask how much research did you do for it?

  • @OperatorPerry ok thanks man just turned it in got an A+

  • @IMAlGiNGER just kidding XD but I read through it great research if Only i had the time to do that

  • @IMAlGiNGER Same, I did the same paper, is that bad XD

  • @IMAlGiNGER shot down!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!one!!!!!1

  • those classes are the 5 beaches invaded on d-day

  • I saw someone say something like "games sometimes can be the cause of violence." "For example, some kid took a gun and robbed a taxi and said that it looked easy in his game so thats why he did it." BS. The game didn't do it, the kid's just an idiot.

  • This would be a good topic for sysons lol

  • Video games in no way provoke violence. It's the kid who makes the decisions because their fucking morons.

  • You Know Perry I would really love to see a much more frequent upload rate and a lot more commentaries because you are by far my favourite commentator on youtube and you always have something interesting to say and worth while listening to. Ye Know even if it was every week i wouldnt mind as long as you get something out hope you read this Thanks

  • If I do a report on this subject, Im going to quote you Perry. "You kinda gotta be fucked up, before you go fuck people up."

  • "u kinda already have to be fucked up, before you can go fuck people up"

  • perry i think you are very wise. this is the first video ive ever watched of yours and im now subbed to you. i read your whole paper and its brilliant. great writer

  • In Soviet Russia You Make Video Games Violent!

  • I also did a report on this last year (weird that we thought of the same thing) and everyone in my 12th grade class agreed with me! My brother committed suicide 3 months ago and lit himself on fire and ran through a building! My uncle (not my parents) sued some stupid movie b/c a scene in some the movie had an actor run through a school on fire! (He lost the case BTW) So now i am crossed between believing that these movies or games are influential in these acts. I and I now Agree with YOU!

  • One thing that I can totally agree with is If you have never play a violent video game, you should not give your opinion on the topic.

  • Wow, codename called Perry a liar!? What a jerk, jus becoz he sukz xD Yh, i agree Perry, its sorta like saying umm... Perry sucks at Black Ops, when they,ve never even seen u play be4 lol... Im nt pointing it out btw lol, ur alot bttr thn me, i gt a 1.84 ratio :D

  • No Russian is baby food compared to the beach scene in Saving Private Ryan.

  • @RageQuit94 My favorite movie.Lol

  • I agree with you Perry. I just read your paper, and I am one of those under-aged kids who plays these violent video games. Yes COD can be frustrating once in a while, but I don't have the urge to go out and harm or kill somebody. I don't have the urge to throw a punch every time I die in COD. Theres violence all over the place. My question is why do they direct their attention to video games on this topic?

  • I've probably got around 200,000+ kills over all COD games, and I've not even thrown a punch.

Says it all really. Parents taught me good morals!

  • @1337cole1337 I like that one comma is the only issue you found. There are probably a few others.

By the way, I never proofread, I don't like reading my own papers. Horrible habit, I know. (That comma was necessary)

  • Comment removed

  • @1337cole1337 I got an A on it. Other than missing commas or missing o's, I can't see any reason I would get any lower than an A. Getting a C makes no sense.

  • I believe that was probably the best commentary I've heard this week (it's Sunday as I'm typing this). I really like you as a commentator, or as a montage editor, but basically I'm trying to say that I would like it if you could post a bit more frequently from now on. I really enjoy your commentaries, especially these informed ones like this, and the minitages are very fun and cool to watch. Don't stop doing this Perry, your awesome. Banana.

  • I will show this to my mom, to prove her WRONG!

  • i agree its not the game but it may encourage people that are allready a bit of a psycho

  • Completely agree. When I see some dumb fucking bitch on the news talking about shit she doesnt know about, THAT makes me violent. Remember the whole SEXBOX thing on FOX NEWS (wich btw is completely bias and feeds you lies) because of the sex scene in Mass Effect?!?!?! They showed half of a side of an alien boob and they were like: "Is this what they are teaching our children?" OMG I hate ignorant assholes.

  • I also saw an episode of Law and Order SVU where this guy ran over a Hoe, and said the reason why he did that is because he was playing Grand theft auto.

  • dOOM <3

  • @Codename205 Just because YOU can't hold a 2.00 KD in game AND capture HQ's doesn't mean I can't. I'm not a liar.

  • @Codename205 lol plus 2.0 and 1.7 arent completely separate from each other...get a life and have a good day sir.

  • @Codename205

Lol, you cant even get a 2k/d whilst playing objective?

    Shitkid.

  • @Codename205 I have 6 in KD sometimes and 5 captures so...

  • my moms best friends daughter dies in the columbine shooting

  • perry the way you say violent games inspire people to kill somebody etc. well some movies make people commit suicide because it messes up there head like that war movie (forget the name) but it does messes up there head but not sure about violent video games i agree its far fetched but like movies it does!!

  • you wrote your paper on my birthday :D

  • The Makers Of These 18+ Violent Games, Arent fucked

  • Pacman makes me want to go and eat ghosts.

  • I play black ops and CoD alot ,And I never get violent ,I agree the media should play the games and See for them self !! Not just take a guess and say what they think without tryin!! :)

  • 8:52 he sounds like he is going to go to an airport and kill everybody there buhaha xD

  • The fact is there can be no ethically sound causal link between the two acts, so no one can ever be right.

  • It seems 17 ppl haven't played any violent game or they did and killed someone...

  • i did a speech on video game violence :)

  • I agree

  • Well Perry I agree that the media is totally wrong. But what you said is that if you havnt done it, you cant know if its good or bad pretty much.. That isnt completely true, people know that smoking isnt good even if they havent ever done it before. But atleast they have evidence about it tho, it's totally stupid agreed.

  • @niqori You cant compare smoking and gaming. Everyone knows the effects of smoking, non gamers dont know the effects of gaming.

  • Favorited. .. Thats what I think.

  • SiiK SiiNz is online. :O

  • I watched the news segment. They don't know shit

  • The thing is, the argument made by the players of video games is biased, while the argument made by the media is uneducated.

I play, but I believe games merely desensitize you to violence and makes you feel a bit more comfortable with it. This may cause a more violent mindset, but serious issues like shootings should not be blamed soley on games.

Hehe I wrote a paper on this too :D

  • Playing MW2 makes me go to Vietnam to quickscope someone, i always miss the shot. Nah jk

  • @frankthematon stfu

  • @WillRunsLesta gtfo

  • @frankthematon stfu

  • @WillRunsLesta gtfo

  • @frankthematon how does playing MW2 want u to go to vietnam? xD it's like saying, after playing AvP, i want to go to UK and buy a burger. It got no connection. xD

  • @Tunayer1 Im just an exaggeration lol. But the AvP thing sounds like a good idea

  • @frankthematon i know that :P but it was the MW2 and Vietnam connection i found kinda stupid :P

  • @Tunayer1 But the AvP thing is something i have to do

  • @Tunayer1 lol "Im" well ignore it

  • No your wrong! i mean, i play violent video games and ive killed hundreds of people in real life! like who the hell connects those two things.. there is NO way that they would be connected in any way, shape, or form

  • I dont know about u guys but I really hope new cod games don't become a yearly thing because even though I really love black ops I feel like I didn't get enough time with mw2 and I don't wanna see MW3 this year because I would feel the same about Black Ops

  • @DarkSpartan92 They are being created over a 2 year period that would be why treyarch made BO. they started it shortly afte WaW i believe

  • @DarkSpartan92 Well sorry to say, but MW3 is coming out in November

  • @cavemanjaden if its by sledgehammer infiniti ward wont give them the name title it will be like a sequal to mw2 but it wont have the name unless IW comes back

  • @donaldds25 Yep Infinity Ward is making MW3 with Sledgehammer

  • @cavemanjaden cool to know

  • Your a smart man perry

  • I was reading through your paper, and I found it pretty interesting. About six months ago I wrote my own paper on the same topic and your paper was kind of related to mine. The difference I found was I did mine more on the aggression that can occur when some one is addicted to a game then is deprived of it. I look at the age factor of when the person in general started gaming. Still very interesting keep it up Perry.

  • I feel like if the person playing the violent game has an existing mental condition such as ADD/ADHD and isnt very skilled at the game and gets extremely frustrated very easily...may in turn start to lash out at others or become violent socially because of something in his life that works him up so much like CoD might...im not sure just my input though

  • My mom says if i keep playing to much cod that one day ima go crazy

  • @mattdabesst123 Dude, you're already going crazy.

  • @OxnardHD WTF how

  • I dont think you can mark videos games on a whole saying "they are never the reason for someone being violent" or what not, Because 2 years ago a teenager, went onto his street, bought himself a gun and robbed a taxi and when questioned he answered "Well I saw how easy it was in a game so I wanted to see how it was in real life", So in most cases it isnt the case, but the odd time a video game will be responsible.

  • They could say the same about violent movies! Clowns jumping to conclusions

  • These are the people who are usually against video games:

Parents who dont want there kid to play them so they have other parents to not let there kids play so there kid doesnt get out of conversation

    Media who wants someto blame

Old people who dont want to futurerize so they blame on VideoGames

  • few months back i met a kid who had never played video games but me and my friend always do, its like the only thing that we talk about. So he told his mom that he was never in the conversation so he wanted her mom to buy that game she was completely against it so she took a speech to the school to tell all of our parents how these games are so bad just so her kid wouldnt be sad.

  • I was thinking the very same thing when they said about the modern warfare 2 mission and the events that took place in Russia, they just want something to blame and they picked the worst thing since it is a whole lot different the only thing is the setting and even then it was a totally different setting if you know what i mean, the guys who caused the incedent couldnt possibly learn anything if the airports arent directly the same.

  • AGREE

  • ive played shooters since goldeneye came out for the n64 and ive never thought about shooting somebody, the only way a game can change yu emotionally is either a sad ending or just frustrating you a bit, if i was to die at pokemon its not like im gonna go and throw a red and white ball at my most hated teacher hoping a dragon comes out and fries it am i, th media are all scum, they make up stuf so they can get payed for a week the media's caused deaths, they are all selfish, wen wil ppl realise?

  • In my opinion, blaming violence on video games is similar to blaming Alzheimer's on eating oranges. Just because some people happen to do both, there is no solid evidence that the latter affects the former.

  • I agree, ive played cod4 5 and 6 which is ages 18 and up and when Black ops came out i wasnt almost allowed to buy it though i played the other cods. and when we argue sometimes shes just calling me violent and stuff like that and shes threathening me to not be allowed to play and yeah. she says i get violent by the games an i dont get it. I DONT SEE THE LINK AT ALL!! so i fully agree!

  • The reason this is such a problem is that our court system is so easily swayed by 'evidence' that video games make people violent. I say this because anyone who does cause harm to another sees that a good way to get out of the charges or get a lesser charge would be to blame their actions on a video game. The court system needs to realize that the video games dont cause these problems, the way people treat these people who commit these crimes are the problem almost all of the time. Hope you read

  • Well it is true that the video games can desensitize you to violence since you always play it, you become used to it. But it in no way makes you want to kill a person. I think your claim is pretty well researched and I repect you for that.

  • FINALLY SOMEONE WHO IS SMART!!!

  • I think I'm going to go fuck up a school because I saw it in a movie. Are they saying that's true too? Perry I agree there logic didn't make sense, they are just a bunch of angry retards looks for a scapegoat.

  • @uncletwinkletoes123 You will be surprised by how many people actually get inspired from movies and do the same in real life. Not sure where i found this, but i think it was IGN who posted it; about 3 months after GTA IV came out, these teenagers in real life up in New York actually went trying to steal cars and hit people for no reason other that they were inspired by the game. Well at least enough to do such thing.

  • The media and their propaganda is just as bad as the subliminal messages and violent images in video games. Yes, I play, but I wouldn't let or condone most kids playing violent games. Especially since society already has a fucked up hypocritical view on taking life. And that's not just video game players and the media. I mean the mass majority of people. If you don't condone murder, then become a vegetarian and an anarchist. Because eating flesh and supporting the government is supporting murder

  • pacman was the reason i beat the shit out of little timmy

  • whoo i just made it exactly 2000 likes! yhea !! i agree 100%...

  • good shit here, perry. keep it up! :D

  • If you're getting worked up over linking real world violence to violent video games, you'd probably explode reading creationists debate evolution.

  • Perry, I agree 100% with you i have been playing violent video games since i was 5-6 years old im 15 now and same with over half of my friends. Violent video games dont make people wanna hurt/harm people in real life. Im one of the chillest people in my school that play cod and halo and gears and shit. Like you said the person has to ALREADY have a mental/physical issue to make them hurt/harm people in real just like the games they play...

  • Damn Perry you like having big spaces between your lines!

  • Your right the media always finds their scapegoat!

  • QUAAAAAAAAAAAAD

  • Perry = GOD<3

iv beeen in ur game a couple of times:)

    GT- Bakaaar.

    remember or not?

  • dude , is it possible i can take your essay

    reworrd it

nd hand it in to my teacher :o thats like a guaranteed pass

  • @thedScpd No. That's not a good idea anyway. Teachers can tell when something isn't written by you. I tried stealing my friends coding in Programming class in 10th grade, my teacher knew it immediately.

  • @OperatorPerry damn :(, ima failing english then :P

  • @OperatorPerry oh btw, thanks for giving me an idea atleast :P

anyway just letting you know nice videos, ima proud to be priveleged enough to subscribe to you <3

  • @OperatorPerry he totally did it anyway

  • @OperatorPerry He'll probably still do it anyways

  • @thedScpd thats what I was thinking

  • Your an excellent commentator :)

  • It's just a scapegoat perry. People don't want to hear that some people are just murderers, they don't want to believe that anyone has the capability to kill someone else, hence people blame things they don't fully understand.

  • :D Well played, sir! I was only messing mate; imitating one of those 'Douche Bags'. I'm chilled out as well, but it's only natural to get passionate about something you care about, so i understand, and dont worry man, i am NOT one of 'those' guys ;) T.I.E.

  • I do think violent video games could have the potential to affect very young children if they're exposed to them too often, there's no denying that the more that someone (especially a young, impressionable child) is exposed to something, the more normal and natural that thing becomes to them, so I can see for example how adults that let their 6 year-old play CoD could be affecting that childs view of what's right/wrong and accepted, especially as video games become more interactive/lifelike.

  • I do think violent video games could have the potential to affect very young children if they're exposed to them too often, there's no denying that the more that someone (especially a young, impressionable child) is exposed to something, the

  • Perry your still the best

  • I don't think you can say it does or does not cause violence without the proper studies/experiments. Idk what studies you have in your research paper though. Either way, the burden of proof is definitely with the side of people who say it does cause violence and they have not given anything remotely close to proof.

  • this has got to be the worst time to say this but you sound like brian from family guy

  • I played Tenchu 2 at 5/6 years old, I turned out just fine.

    BRB, My psychiatrist is here...

  • @Zeyrion ZOMG Zeyrion (no fanboy)

  • @Zeyrion ZOMG Zeyrion (yes fanboy)
