Wow, that Bane rendition is awesome. A year late to the video, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around how he'll be worked into the story. Catwoman is easy considering the fate of Rachel in the events of The Dark Knight. Springboard for her into Nolan's dark universe. But Bane! Ack! Roll on July 2012.

if you knew much about the comics, you'd know that Bane is easily one of Batman's most intelligent foes. that's why you really can't mention the 'Batman and Robin' Bane alongside the comic book Bane; B&R's Bane is a mockery of the character. Bane is one of Batman's strongest villains, both physically and mentally, and making him a hulking, monster of a beast in the upcoming film would make him that much better as a villain once you realize that he can both outsmart AND outfight Batman.
Even though Bane was a hulking size of a man he wasn't stupid either in the comics. The way they made him in Batman & Robin was disappointing. In the comics, Bane beat Batman psychologically first and then beat him physically. If they did it like that then it would be great and close to the source material.
Bane = Great challenge and opponent for Batman, even Joker can't compare to his intelligence (Though Joker is far more cunning). He's batman's greatest threats, in the comics he's figured out Batman's true identity and as well broke his spine! Tell me, since when has 1 of batman's villains succeeded into doing that?

There are many potrayals of bane, although most of them just making him appear to be a big dumb monster... BTAS and this Movie will obviously get it right...
In Darkknight rises there not having being potrayed as the hulking venom overdose monster bane, hes a professional fighter with a little suprise backing him up....

seriously...? The joker's look was all makeup in DK, in the comics and the cartoon series, the white skin IS the jokers real skintone, its not make up. Chris Nolan is taking a more realistic approach to batman, but like he said you need to watch it to get it....im not gonna put the movie down till I actually see it, everyone didnt like heath ledger as the joker till they saw the movie and then they were like.... @AxelDuel First Id like to thank you for not starting a flame war. Second, I agree that certain elements of realism are necessary to attain a Batman movie here. I get that. The thing about Batman is that its a comic thats right on that edge of fantasy and reality. The character Bane was one of Batmans greatest nemesis and Im not damning the movie but it seems that one of the core elements of the character had been removed. He looks more like Lord Humongous with a goatsee on his face.
Bane is hardly Batman's greatest nemisis, infact people who dont know much about batman, know only the classic villians, joker, catwoman, two face,ect. Alot of people I know, have no clue to who Bane is. Once again as I said, we dont know what bane is going to look like when he is infused with venom, infact Chris Nolan is keeping his character under wraps till the movie is going to release. Tom Hardy didnt even know what character he was going to play until he accepted the part.
Personally, I'm torn about by the knowledge that Mr. Freeze isn't going to be in it. Of all the Batman villains, he was always in my top five, and he needs a dignified live action portrayal that the fans can latch onto so that we have more than Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman and Robin. Personally, I think the best actor for Mr. Freeze would be Alan Rickman. The way Mr. Freeze speaks, so poetically and monotonously, just makes me feel there's no one else.
I said he sounded like a proper Freeze, but come to think of it, he looks like him, too. Just shave him and give him some goggles.
As for how old he is, Liam Neeson was 52 when he played Ras al Ghul in Batman Begins. Sure, Alan Rickman is older than that; my point is, age doesn't define a good actor.
Watch some of "Heart of Ice" with Mr. Freeze (/watch?v=bzKSkAS24TM), then listen to Alan Rickman reading Shakespeare (/watch?v=YtErr-6LVjU), and tell me I'm wrong again.

I don't agree with the choice for the actor but I'll watch anyway. Any of you play Arkham Asylum? Hearing the voice actor at least TRY to imitate a broken english spanish accent was actually creepy. In the Bane boss fight he screams "I will fold you like paper!!!" I hate how they changed the origin story; the comic book Bane will always be better.
love hardy. i'm glad nolan didn't give into the temptation of going with a more hollywood-ized actor. disappointed with his choice for catwoman, though. hard to think that this final installment will meet my expectations with HER in it.
Tom Hardy is magnificent in the film Bronson. I don't really know if the role of Bane merits an actor of this great talent, but I am sure the paycheck is nice. Now, if the script is up to the actor, then there is hope. The Nolan brothers have given us some great scripts so far, so the part may be good for Tom.
I liked the last two Batman movies. I personally have high hopes for this movie. I like these series of batman movies because they are more realistic and darker. The older movies were to cartoony for me. They were cool movie to watch growing up.
Okay.. uuh, Size wise.. the perfect size I'd say would be hulk. HULK (Eric Bana Version, not crappy remake).. on that version, HULK had 5 transformable size, depending on how pissed he was. Bane's perfect size is between his human form and HULK's first size.. if they wanted to over ex-saturate his size (which would be cooler), they should go with HULK's first size. MAX. But for the love of god.. DO NOT MAKE HIM HUMAN.. one just changes colours when he's pissed.
Joker was never written off..... get your facts straight. The unfortunate fact that the best man that could play Joker died. There could not be a different plot. Bane and Joker should have been played into this movie. A true comic book freak can tell you that. But it is what is at this point. I hope that this film is legendary as the last.

Yeah, he did the part exceptionally well, him just dying I think truly misconstrues your perception on whats good and whats not. If they cast anyone as Joker Joseph Gordon Levitt would be alright, I think they should cast the part to someone who is more caged and has a more different approach... so it could show a completely different side of Joker.
@Moore3021 I agree with you. Here's the thing. My perception wasn't based on Heath Ledger's death. In only what is my opinion, I feel Heath Ledger has been the best thus far to play Joker. If there is someone else that can play a caged and give a different approach, then by all means. I also agree that hopefully they explain Bane's character. It will be very interesting how this will turn out.

perhaps bane can grow when he's hopped up on Venom and remain as intelegent as he is in this form. Check out Bane's transformation in the cartoon called "The Batman". This Bane was small, got hopped up, got strong as hell, and was a genius.

Bane isnt potrayed as a Hulking Monster in the comics, more like a MMA fighter with the ability to instantly enhance his abilities with really powerful drugs. In the Comics and even in the Animated Series, he actually took his time to study Batman's fighting style and tactics before he even set it up to fight him. He prepared himself to fight Batman like a Fighter prepares for a championship fight. Hes actually a really smart soldier/fighter kind of character. Do your Research....

@AxelDuel By the ideas I get, they're trying to make these "super powers" or "super villains" into a "real" form. Scarecrow, Joker, Two-Face, Ra's al Ghul. If you recall, both Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul use some kind of "gas" that makes everyone live in fear, and perceive everyone as a villain. If it were simply a super power, it wouldn't seem real, but it's a drug/gas, which makes it at least half interesting if it could "actually" be done. Just sayin'. :P

The thing about Batman is that its a comic thats right on that edge of fantasy and reality. The character Bane was one of Batmans greatest nemesis and Im not damning the movie but it seems that one of the core elements of the character had been removed. He looks more like Lord Humongous with a goatsee on his face.

Alot of people I know, have no clue to who Bane is. Once again as I said, we dont know what bane is going to look like when he is infused with venom, infact Chris Nolan is keeping his character under wraps till the movie is going to release. Personally, I'm torn about by the knowledge that Mr. Freeze isn't going to be in it. Of all the Batman villains, he was always in my top five, and he needs a dignified live action portrayal that the fans can latch onto so that we have more than Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman and Robin. Personally, I think the best actor for Mr. Freeze would be Alan Rickman. The way Mr. Freeze speaks, so poetically and monotonously, just makes me feel there's no one else.

I don't agree with the choice for the actor but I'll watch anyway. Any of you play Arkham Asylum? Hearing the voice actor at least TRY to imitate a broken english spanish accent was actually creepy. In the Bane boss fight he screams "I will fold you like paper!!!" I hate how they changed the origin story; the comic book Bane will always be better.

Tom Hardy is magnificent in the film Bronson. I don't really know if the role of Bane merits an actor of this great talent, but I am sure the paycheck is nice. Now, if the script is up to the actor, then there is hope. The Nolan brothers have given us some great scripts so far, so the part may be good for Tom.

Okay.. uuh, Size wise.. the perfect size I'd say would be hulk. HULK (Eric Bana Version, not crappy remake).. on that version, HULK had 5 transformable size, depending on how pissed he was. Bane's perfect size is between his human form and HULK's first size.. if they wanted to over ex-saturate his size (which would be cooler), they should go with HULK's first size. MAX. But for the love of god.. DO NOT MAKE HIM HUMAN.. one just changes colours when he's pissed.

Bane isnt potrayed as a Hulking Monster in the comics, more like a MMA fighter with the ability to instantly enhance his abilities with really powerful drugs. In the Comics and even in the Animated Series, he actually took his time to study Batman's fighting style and tactics before he even set it up to fight him. He prepared himself to fight Batman like a Fighter prepares for a championship fight. Hes actually a really smart soldier/fighter kind of character. Do your Research....

@AxelDuel By the ideas I get, they're trying to make these "super powers" or "super villains" into a "real" form. Scarecrow, Joker, Two-Face, Ra's al Ghul. If you recall, both Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul use some kind of "gas" that makes everyone live in fear, and perceive everyone as a villain. If it were simply a super power, it wouldn't seem real, but it's a drug/gas, which makes it at least half interesting if it could "actually" be done. Just sayin'. :P
