hell naw 280hp civic and 400 supra. supra will took that civic and i can say is supra is for top speed. im sure if that civic has 400hp too, itll beat that supra quarter mile. but still supra can roop that civic ass like 2 to 3 car length.
Civic has less power but weight advantage. You can clearly see it in the race, the Civic is doing good at lower speed but at a higher speed like 120mph the Supra still has torque which the Civic then lacks.
I use to own that sup...it a NA TT swap with 5 spd only(reason y he pick up so slow)... cheap eBay turbo on that race... don't get all happy. now running PT 6765 soon to b 6spd swap n much more.
there are many factors that come into a race like this weight,driver experience,and traction major one being driver experience because either way you look at stock for stock a civic isnt even in any supras class point blank period any real bpu'er out there would wreck you dude what kind of big single settup is that guy running with only 400whp?somethings a little fishy
Put a real driver in that Supra, he was shit from the start, you can tell he was granny shifting, and shifting way too early, didn't even seem like he was in the power band at all, you can tell cause you dont see the front end raise up at all (and yes even stock TT Supra's get the front end up a little when launched correctly from a dig or a roll. No civic can beat a Supra from a roll, period, it just doesn't happen.
@dwnrety1 a big single has a much smoother spool up, goes over the entire band, thats why most road racing turbo cars in japan, gtrs and supras switch to big singles, in fact the most popular is probably the t78. But on the street the supras get real crazy with true twins (sequential from the factory) and the back end breaks loose real hard, so most go single.
@tyruval you gotta consider that both of these cars are damn near stock.. a MKIV comes stock 320hp (thr 1998's are 325) so another 75-80hp is shit, it must be a small ass single turbo if its only pushing 400hp. and a 280whp civic is pretty damn near stock too so.. we have 2 slow ass cars racing eachother, proves shit.

and as the guy below said, that was a NA, converted to a TT. the NA's were terrible, and unless they did all the changes that make a stock TT the heads in the NA and TT are different, need to get a special 3mm headgasket if u plan to run over 7psi, over 7psi you also need a VPC to control air flow similar to a MAP/MAF, custom exhaust manifold as the TT has different mounting studs, and the W58 tran blows compared to the getrag V160. So stfu and quit acting like you know anything about cars.

But I have a black 97 Supra that is a fully built 3.4L Stroker, GT47R-88mm single turbo, built by Titan Motorsport's (probably the most famous company that builds Supra's). It's pushing 1171rwhp @ 46 PSI on C16, and 993whp @ 24 PSI on 93 octane, pretty nice car's.

Civic has less power but weight advantage. You can clearly see it in the race, the Civic is doing good at lower speed but at a higher speed like 120mph the Supra still has torque which the Civic then lacks.

I use to own that sup...it a NA TT swap with 5 spd only(reason y he pick up so slow)... cheap eBay turbo on that race... don't get all happy. now running PT 6765 soon to b 6spd swap n much more.

Put a real driver in that Supra, he was shit from the start, you can tell he was granny shifting, and shifting way too early, didn't even seem like he was in the power band at all, you can tell cause you dont see the front end raise up at all (and yes even stock TT Supra's get the front end up a little when launched correctly from a dig or a roll. No civic can beat a Supra from a roll, period, it just doesn't happen.

@dwnrety1 a big single has a much smoother spool up, goes over the entire band, thats why most road racing turbo cars in japan, gtrs and supras switch to big singles, in fact the most popular is probably the t78. But on the street the supras get real crazy with true twins (sequential from the factory) and the back end breaks loose real hard, so most go single.

@tyruval you gotta consider that both of these cars are damn near stock.. a MKIV comes stock 320hp (thr 1998's are 325) so another 75-80hp is shit, it must be a small ass single turbo if its only pushing 400hp. and a 280whp civic is pretty damn near stock too so.. we have 2 slow ass cars racing eachother, proves shit.

and as the guy below said, that was a NA, converted to a TT. the NA's were terrible, and unless they did all the changes that make a stock TT the heads in the NA and TT are different, need to get a special 3mm headgasket if u plan to run over 7psi, over 7psi you also need a VPC to control air flow similar to a MAP/MAF, custom exhaust manifold as the TT has different mounting studs, and the W58 tran blows compared to the getrag V160. So stfu and quit acting like you know anything about cars.

@darksniper1982 - thats 320Bhp, and thats only with the american version. if its jap spec its only 280bhp. and ive never heard anyone quote anything but WHP on a jap car, whos going to take thier motor out to get it dyno'd seperately. 400whp is 500bhp, so thats a 220hp gain if you are talking about the jap spec. with exhaust, fmic and 20psi. i rate that as impressive. if it IS single turbo, its a very small one and if he still has standard management there is not much more he can push.

And they don't do whp for stock spec's.... that is universal because they aren't going to dyno it, and they want the hp #'s to be as big as possible, if they measured in whp it wouldn't be an appealing a # to the customer.. as you lose power from the drivetrain to the wheels

@darksniper1982 I realise this but you missed my point. This is after market mods to gain this hp. In quoting an after market spec car, you quote whp. so your 'gain' of power was incorrect, and you made it seem a smaller increase than it actually was. its not an 80hp gain, to get your 400 you are looking at 500bhp. so its a 180! hp gain. this was my point. and if its jap spec, (yes its 276 but i didnt know we were being specific) its a 224hp gain. Mine is jap, and 400wrhp, hence my clarification

But I have a black 97 Supra that is a fully built 3.4L Stroker, GT47R-88mm single turbo, built by Titan Motorsport's (probably the most famous company that builds Supra's). It's pushing 1171rwhp @ 46 PSI on C16, and 993whp @ 24 PSI on 93 octane, pretty nice car's.
