William it was really the lamb that got me so fat....that and the new royalty payment schedule...."success is just a mess"....you'd know it better than I!!!!!!
The band - and the especially the guitarists - have none of the grace of The Smiths, butchering this once delightful song. No-one can play like Johnny Marr, and here it shows. It seems only he can play those delicate guitar pickings. "Shoplifters" sounds okay, but they should leave the rest of The Smiths' back catalogue well alone!
Or maybe they Morrissey wants it to sound that way, leaving the original sound wit The Smiths, and not imitating Marr this is Moz not TS, he aint daft you know, im sure he would have told them how he would like it.
@AndrewAnthonyHyde i saw the smiths live and johnny marr was no better than this live. great in the studio with the benefit of overdubs etc, but no more than mediocre live.
They won't. Moz is a bitter old man now, and has no reason to go with Marr. I'd love to hear them again too, but it will never happen. As a Moz fan, you should know how he is lol
How come he aged so much in the last 5 years or so? I mean just 7-8 years ago he was still young looking and thin. Now he looks older then his age. His hair is thinning. I wonder if he is sick or if depression is causing this :( Anyways, I hope he lives for many years to come. I would still like a chance to see him perform. especially when Im old in the next 20 years. I would like to see him when Im like 65.
I can play it better than that on my beat up old acoustic. No shit. He's not playing enough notes, he resorts to strumming when the going gets too tuff. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. But yeah, the tone is very nice.
Beautiful!
