Ha author of this video is or idiot or straight lier - in Griunwald polish forces were just 1/2 of all army, other part was Lithuanian Grand Duchy and armies were ruled by two lithuanians - Jogaila and Vytautas, Lithuanian army started fight and cheated germans in the end. If you didn't notice line of separation i put in this dialog was Polish kingdom/ Lithuanian Grand Duchy, and name lithuanian was politonim at that time. Yes there were a lot of nations in LGD. Thing is LGD and Poland had 2 separate armies and that victory was LGD victory, polish has almost nothing to do with it in therms of war skills and so on. yes i know that Chodkiewicz originally is ukrainian, and its hounour for Ukrain that he had born, but he came to Lithuania and spend almost all his life in Lithuania, become one of the biggest figures (we even have songs about him that surrvived from that time!!!) . I will put it the other way. Commonwealth was the time of "we" not "Lithuania or Poland" so don't try to say that something was done thanks to Lithuania and something thanks to Poland. Actually, Hussars were invented by Sarmatians which ruled over some Slavic tribes. It was light calvalry and there were no wings. Serbs were one of tribes that were ruled by Sarmatians at some point, and Hussars among Slavs were first recorded on Kosovo Battle in 1389 (Serbs vs Turks). Later when Serbia fall under Turks, some remaining Hussars fleed to Hungary to fight turks, and when hungary fell, then to Poland. Poles added wings and more armoury, so Polish Hussars became heavy calvary.

Grunwald was commanded by Generals Vitold and Wladyslaw both were Lithuanians and Most Troops were Lithuanians. And the rest battles to 1791 were fought by the commonwealth. And the Ottomans did not fall after battle of Vienna battle , it did after WW1.

Historically most of eastern poland belong to Lithuania, so not everyone in poland has actual polish ancestry, now.
The polish were only a minority of Szlachta (2-5%) of Sarmatian Tyrants, of Turks that had converted to Christianity, when white europeans forced them to.
So only a minority were actual Lechites, Polish Turks from Asia. The majority may have been vandals, slavs, balts, goths, celts and other white europeans.

Tactics my friend. It was so called strike through with heavy cavalry (winged husars) with exit on the rear of Sweedish Army. If this proportion is shocking for you I'd like to see your reaction, if you hear about Somosierra - 120 horsmen against 1800 infantry wit 16 canons :-)

You have to consider that we were one state at this time - the Commonwealth, so dont sepparate 2 nations so drastically. We would not have acheived these victories without you, and you without us.

Ha author of this video is or idiot or straight lier - in Griunwald polish forces were just 1/2 of all army, other part was Lithuanian Grand Duchy and armies were ruled by two lithuanians - Jogaila and Vytautas, Lithuanian army started fight and cheated germans in the end. And about Kirholm is even bigger lie because here were mainly LGD forces and only some helping polish regiments.

I agree, but that time there were us - and not to forget that in Commonwealth there were living not only Polish and Lithuanians, but also Whiterussian, Ukrainian, Latvian, Estonian and others. Those times it was more important who was the ruler than the matter of nationality. Modern nationalism ideas were born in XIX century . Before there were some paradox situations like German volunteers from Gdansk joining Polish troops at Napoleon Army to fight against Preussen (!) What is now is different.

If you didn't notice line of separation i put in this dialog was Polish kingdom/ Lithuanian Grand Duchy, and name lithuanian was politonim at that time. Yes there were a lot of nations in LGD. Thing is LGD and Poland had 2 separate armies and that victory was LGD victory, polish has almost nothing to do with it in therms of war skills and so on. It is not nationalism, it is simple want of truth, and when i hear "polish victory" why should i have to be silent?

And by the way, speaking about what nation was fighting mostly in that battle, one witness of that battle wrote that lithuanians have interesting war scream, that sounds similar tu mushket that shout "mushk" during atack... Try to find what that word means. I will help you - it means nothing in polish, in russian, white russia, ukrainian, but it means quite much in lithuanian.

Who said you to be silent - me ? You might be mixed my comments with some others ? I do not deny that it was Lithuanian victory as well. I tried to explain you that in Polant most of people consider Commonwealth which had one King, one Prlament, and common system of Courts as "our state". The point is that same in Poland and West people very often exchange "Commonwealth" with "Poland". Even I had many times problems with explaining foreigners that it had two parts LGD and Polish Kingdom.

One guy with one film making common for half bilion people mistake doesn't change that whoever wants to learn about battle will read in Polish Wikipedia as follows:
"It was one of the greatest victories of 1st Republic (Commonwealth). As I see you are interested in history, so it should be interesting for you: Great Lithuanian Hetman Jan Karol Chodkiewicz was of Ukrainian origin. His blood line is coming straight from Chodko Juriewicz who was "bojar ruski" (ukrainian knight / nobleman) from Kiyiv.
You forgot to translate "mushk" - I'm really interested what is the meaning (and I could not find it in Lihuanian - Polish dictionary).
As I see you are interested in history - maybe we can exchange some informations in private mail

yes i know that Chodkiewicz originally is ukrainian, and its hounour for Ukrain that he had born, but he came to Lithuania and spend almost all his life in Lithuania, become one of the biggest figures (we even have songs about him that surrvived from that time!!!) . And you couldnt find what it mean in dictionarry becaus i wrot it in wrong letters it is "mušk" in lithuanian letters and it means strike it

I will put it the other way. Commonwealth was the time of "we" not "Lithuania or Poland" so don't try to say that something was done thanks to Lithuania and something thanks to Poland. We were fighting on the same side and practically under the same standard. I don't know why you don't like Poland so much and call us stupid poles (forgetting even about capital letter) or liers . Remember that Commonwealth was found because Lithuania and Poland needed each other- separatelly we were to weak.

... I feel in your comment anger and I can understand it. But friendly dialog between our nations can help us in building common future in United Europe. Polish fighter pilots were defending already two times sky over Lithuania. Is it not a proof that we not only respect your independence, but we are also ready to fight and die for it if necessary? To LaukineShiaure - In battle of Grunwald was 2/3 knights from Poland and only our knights answered good arms and training Teutonic Knights. We won battle thanks Poles. However battle of Kircholm was victory of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth army not Lithuanian. Battle of Kłuszyn was polish victory but we, Poles tell that was Polish-Lithuanian. Dont it call author idiot or straight lier and stop read wikipedia. He presented truth.

Your historical knowledges are simply phatetic, read historical books, not legends - there is known how many flags took to Grunwald Polish kingdom and Lithuanian Grand duchy and nuber 2/3 to poland is only in your dreams. And there was no such thing like Commonwealth army, there were to separate armies - polish army and lithuanian army. If you don't know that go to first class in shool and learn.

Actually even Swedes knew they fought agains Lithuanians. It was Lithuanian commander, Lithuanian soldiers mostly. I think not 2/3, but 20/21 in proportion to Poles :D
What about Grunwald.. Lithuanians won lot of battles against thoose "good arms" even without Polish help. Grunwald was common victory, of course.
