I always loved TSRS movie, and I hated that people put it down so much. When I see these new clips from the same MSG '73 shows, it makes me think that the problem for a lot of people was the pacing. The original movie had all the super-long heavy songs, but left out a lot of the sharp precise shorter songs like this, and Misty Mountain Hop, and Celebration Day. I think the balance would have won more people over. Check "Rosetta West - Underground" for some good raw blues by the way...
Words cannot describe the magnitude and brilliance of this band... this song sent shivers down my spine and left me speechless. Now that's an achievement!!
@palestinian2dabones Just stop talking about him. He doesnt deserve the attention. Two comments, yours and mine, are already two comment too many about him.
@BitchinnShoes07 everyone is wrong sometimes lol as long as you see that your wrong and change then its all good! with how many people that dont even know shit about good music talk about led like they are gods it could be easy to think they are overated! But when u see a live recording of them its a life changer! the way they play together is so amazing it makes you wanna kill someone to be there that night!
If you listen to Jimmy play. Try to focus your mind on just him, you will hear the way he plays is like it is an extention of him. No matter where he is playing or what song he is playing, he knows what is going to fit that song at that time way before he actually plays. I think the best way to put it is, he plays guitar chess. He is a fucking amazing guitarist! ) I know I am spelling guitar wrong, but I can't seem to get the word to look right. hehe)
And that show (in the Guiness Book of World Records for largest attendence for a single band, 94.8 thousand, I believe) was only days before Robert;s Son died, and they would soon cancel the rest of that tour, which was technically, their last with John Bonham. He died before the 1980 tour ever started. And after Bonham, there is no more ZEP.
That was Zepplin at their zenith. Jimmy was so in groove. When I saw them at Pontiac Silver Dome in Pontiac, MI, in May of 1977, Jimmy was so smacked out, and you could really tell. His body was soo skinny. He was still unbelievable,
@caperras even heroin won't take the authentic Australian Blues sound out of him. I only like Thank You on the BBC Sessions because of the guitar solo.
@ simplylibbs I would kill a convent of nuns for those pants. especially since this song was dedicated to their fans. hence "The Ocean" of fans at each concert. in fact it was the largets single act show attendance in history. So you know what, fuck modern music and its antics give me Led Zeppelin and I will die a happy man.
@TimeTCG "was" underrated, and actually he was not considered underrated. He was indeed considered one the most sought after bassist back then even before his LZ tenure as was Jimmy Page also.
Love this song but, what happened to the original video? It had much more detail. Specifically, Jimmy's neck slide with the point. What happened? Shoot!
We've started a youtube channel to get real music back. Our plan is to gain subscribers, and have bands sending us demos. We'll feature the best songs on our channel, so people can stay updated on new bands.....this tried to be done before with another youtube page getmusicbacktv but they were very biased and ultimately the movement failed. this time we will accept from all genres in order to get new bands signed
Led Zeppelin was an awesome band.My brother took his life last yr. and they were 1 of his favorite bands. He taught himself how to play the guitar to them..i'm lovin them all over again.Mark..R.I.P. brother..love n miss u.
@ButtersDarkSide Did you hear what he said about zep??? He was embaressed to play with them at LiveAid,I liked him untill he made fun of MY boys,it took me 13 years but I learned to play everyone of their songs on the drums,my first drum teacher left the state after 2 lessons,he handed me Zep 4 on tape and said "This one of the true masters of the drums, learn to play his stuff and you will need a lesson no more" I DID,AND DID'NT.

@collinrox back then they could do that without the gayass pop media harrassing them. Plus, they had the balls to dress like that. Now all the little singers have their baggy clothes hanging around their knees and t shirts that look like long sleeves and hats with no purpose. No meaning in today's society
