This video seems to have the most educated and well written comments I have seen of any of these Japanese Technology videos. One thing I will add, I went to Japan a few times, compared to some of the biotech or other robots I have seen built at our universities in America, the stuff I saw in Japan was nothing. The Japanese are pioneers in implementing semi-advanced and popular technology, but I have yet to see them implement any bio-interfacing systems, or advanced logic systems, etc.
japan is very, very advanced in everyday things such as, cell phones being used for almost everything, like for IDs or credit cards, etc. vending machines, parking garages,robots , and they're vehicles and apartments and homes and stores are very efficient and are now trying to build underground malls, stores, homes. very efficient thinking. In america, they're advancements are well known for in the field of military and war, and surgical and medical breakthroughs and scientific research, etc.

Countries are fighting for resources, once resources are made abundant fighting will stop and the world will unite as one earth. Then culture, technology, scientific advance will be global and not local. In the end it does not matter where it comes from as once something is created it is distributed and shared. I don't think of any one country as the best since were all ultimately from the same planet as one species.

Its ironic, ive been living in the u.s.a for 15 years now, and i have to be honest, mcdonalds in the us.a is horrible! Whenever i order a bigmac its usually all over the place and tastes synthetic. While in europe i was served a bigmac in a condition much like a commercial! I was even given a fork and knife! The meat was also juicy and tasted amazing.
The "leaders" of America fucked up the country by being greedy, too preoccupied on wars in other country trying to go for world domination. But that's why Japan and other countries are ahead of the US while they fall behind.
Not just amazing in technology, but Japan has better customer service. You cannot compare the quality of customer service to Japan. Even McDonald's customer service in Japan is high quality... they don't just hire anyone at McDonald's in Japan and there's a lot more the employees have to go through following strict guidelines and manuals .
I hope this settles the debate over who is more technologically advanced: Japan or the US. A country's advancement in technology in the past does not mean it is the most advanced in the present. If someone can help me with a real life example to this, id appreciate it. I cant think of one at the moment. Guys, stop making stupid points in this arguement. Americans and Japanese have different histories and culture that shape their thinking. Yes it's true you can buy drinks at a vending machine, conbini ( convience store), and pay taxi fare. This technology is already a few years old in japan. People use rechargeable suica cards for the train or pay monthly to ride unlimited between 2 stations of your choice for people who use the same stations everyday. Too bad the US doesn't implement this system cause it's awesome. Why carry a wallet full of credit cards when you can just use your cell phone?

Its ironic, ive been living in the u.s.a for 15 years now, and i have to be honest, mcdonalds in the us.a is horrible! Whenever i order a bigmac its usually all over the place and tastes synthetic. While in europe i was served a bigmac in a condition much like a commercial! I was even given a fork and knife! The meat was also juicy and tasted amazing.

Not just amazing in technology, but Japan has better customer service. You cannot compare the quality of customer service to Japan. Even McDonald's customer service in Japan is high quality... they don't just hire anyone at McDonald's in Japan and there's a lot more the employees have to go through following strict guidelines and manuals .

I hope this settles the debate over who is more technologically advanced: Japan or the US. A country's advancement in technology in the past does not mean it is the most advanced in the present. If someone can help me with a real life example to this, id appreciate it. I cant think of one at the moment. Guys, stop making stupid points in this arguement. Im American and ill admit a lot of us are too full of ourselves and our country.

@LotusDragon09 Can't really think of an example, but as far as a debate as to who is more technologically advanced it's like arguing apples and oranges. Americans and Japanese have different histories and culture that shape their thinking. Therefore they come up with different things. and people are impressed by whats on the other side of the fence because its different from what they have. PS I am also American.

@Commitin I can agree to that. The US is defenatly more advanced in things like space technology and military, while Japan is clearly more advanced in more consumer oriented technology like cell phones and entertainment. These are just a couple examples of course.

If you are thinking of Ford, he was the first successful mass producer of Automobiles with the invention of the automobile assembly line. Oh yea and the mcdonalds in japan tastes damn good. Good customer service and hot food unlike mcdonalds in the US where I get old cold fries and a burger just thrown together all sloppy by people who don't care about their job. in japan the burger actually looks like the picture cause most Japanese have pride in what they do or they do a good job of faking it.

Yes it's true you can buy drinks at a vending machine, conbini ( convience store), and pay taxi fare. This technology is already a few years old in japan. People use rechargeable suica cards for the train or pay monthly to ride unlimited between 2 stations of your choice for people who use the same stations everyday. Too bad the US doesn't implement this system cause it's awesome. Why carry a wallet full of credit cards when you can just use your cell phone?
