Favorite Queen Album. One of my all time favorite Queen songs. But watching you play this bass line brought it to a level I have never been to. I knew as a listener that the bass line was complex and complimentary to the song as a whole, but to actaully see it played all the way through - just FANTASTIC!! This sounds great. I love Deacon's pulse and great harmonization skills. And this composition is a great example of how you can add to a song by a smart bass line. I don't like players who show off by making as many notes per second as possible but play no music at all in it. Deacon's sense of what a bass should be is a clear opposition to that and I love it. Great job with your instrument. Keep it going.

The bass is a Fender Precision Special ( deluxe series) made in Mexico - 2002. I changed the pickguard.

No amp here, just the bass pluged through a Mobile Pre sound card.

Yes they are. Melodic, never overly complex but not simple either. Always just right for the song. He was a very underrated bass player because he didn't show off (ala Billy Sheehan et al).

John Deacon is the type of bass player that beginning and non musicians usually don't appreciate. They like the flashy ones who play a million notes at top speed without regard to the melodic nature of what they are playing.
