  • I doubt if they performed it this fast; 78 RPM was not always strictly 78 RM in those days. Also, women's voices didn't record as well as men's; I find this mostly unlistenable. Listen to Teresa Stich-Randall with Gerald Moore for a truer, more beautiful realization of this wonderful song.

  • The tempi on these Debussy recordings are so interesting!! I wonder how other famous composers' pieces would be different, if we could hear them played by the creators themselves.

  • If anyone could give me the lyrics to this song it would be great...i really want to know them in french or english...

  • Une interprétation originale magnifique !

Il était temps que je l'entende, merci.

  • whoah !!!! that is really fast ! what a surprise.. these recordings are historic and wonderful, thank you so much -

  • agree!

  • Never heard this one before. T4P

  • d60944, "Verde" Merci beaucoup! Tres belle.

    Je t'adore Debussy, le Pianiste!

    Debussy est ma 'forte'.

  • The first "fast" version I've ever heard! Great!

  • These videos are PRICELESS! Where did you find these?

  • @CourtSoprano I've never known a re-issue of Mary Garden's recordings that didn't include this and a short excerpt from the Fountain Scene of Pelléas et Mélisande, which they also recorded.
