@VanishingWish dude dont be a cunt. Just cos you dont like it doesnt mean they are a bad band and theres no need to start chatting shit at someone who does like them.
Every gimp says the 00s was gash for music, & yeah it was, but it started promising enough. Inme, Boy Hits Car, My Vitriol, Sunna, & Reuben (4 of which are British) all had their signature sounds; it was a refreshing wave of new music before the fucking shit storm of Indie & Emo. Seems bands like this were drowned out. But I'm glad 2 see I'm not the only 1 who's been wearing their life jacket.
why do people have to analyze it so much, what difference does it make when they started- dont all bands have influences????? just enjoy it for what it is!!!!!!!!!!1
The album that this track is from is very average. I think this was a rivel record companies attempt to sign another Muse. They came out roughly the same time I think. The two singles are the best thing about the album but the rest is sub mediocre.
@stevegrierson Muse was 4 years prior to this. They sound VERY different. If anything, Muse were an original copy of Radiohead. I'd say Dave Mcphersons clean voice has more in common with Thom Yorke of Radiohead than Matt Bellamy. This was not a 'ploy' from record companies, InMe have had huge problems with record companies over the years and were on their own label for ages. They were some kids capturing their teenage angst. Deal with it.
@stevegrierson At the end of the day starting this 'debate/argument/whatever you want to call it' is completely fruitless as it boils down to opinion. I don't believe I showed any angst in my comment, although perhaps the last phrase was a bit patronizing. InMe sound nothing like Muse ever have. You don't believe their talented, whatever, good for you. I'm sure you have plenty more fans than they do.
@stevegrierson 2 singles? clearly not a real fan......firefly,underdose,neptune and crushed like fruit were all released and all had videos......get ur facts correct before you start spouting bullshit
@gogreenranger87 A well reasoned argument from obviously a member of MENSA. No I am not a fan, that is what I was attempting to explain, the music is samey, mostly unmelodic and pandering to a certain fan base set up by prog pop bands of the same era (Radiohead and Muse)
Sorry that I have not got a biographers knowledge of what singles were released from that album (which I do own a copy of) but as is clearly the case I only have a passing interest in the band
@greefermike InMe and Disturbed have been on the go for the exact same length of time, I hardly doubt that they heard Disturbed in 1996 and tried to copy them. Listen to Acid Drop by these when they were called The Drowned. Barely Disturbed, more Nirvana. Dave was 17-18 at the time, achieved a lottt more than David Draiman did at that age.
InMe have just produced some amazing riffs that why i love them. This one in Underdose, the intro to Neptune, the intro to Crushed Like Fruit but theyre just the more well known ones. Shame they didnt get the exposure they deserved, awesome band!!
great song ! should really have alot more views though :( ahhh i hate it when society don't realise they have great musicians like inme and when they do just blow them off because they dislike the little parts in songs where he "screams"
I miss how MTV 2 used to be. Now it's just like the Smash Hits channel but with more teeny boppers and the metal music shows feature bands that look the "High School Musical" cast in Kiss make-up applied by a blind hair and beauty student whose hands were bitten off by a tiger.
I also miss 120 Minutes, this music video has triggered off alot of happy memories.
InMe were the first band i ever saw live, when i was 13 and overgrown eden had just come out. They almost hit the big time with White Butterfly, even had the dvd out n stuff, then all the so called fans didnt really wona know any more, WTF!!! stopped going to shows and the last 2 albums did not do as well as they fukin should, lets get them the support they deserve and go out and buy the newest album Herald Moth, get them back on the festival circuit and show some real support! a true InMe fan x
they so deserve more success! There better than half the bands from Britain.. they should be as big as Bullet or bigger ! I remember back in the days this was on K! & MTV2 as you can see above'
Wanabee? Excuse me but have you seen the so called rock music scene today? This right here is the good old stuff. This is where the talent is. So shut up.
I was really ill when this came out and I was obsessing badly about getting the album - my mate went into Taunton for me to get it - bless x even though i now see this as crap it removed me from the pop world ! its all gone wrong - its broken

i saw them live with serj in glasgow... first song was cracking the whip...from the first note of that song i was hooked on these guys... one of my fav bands ever...

This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hate how Dave has tried to sound more English in his vocals...you know what I mean? When I first heard "Underdose" back in the day, I had no idea they were from Essex. If you listen to their new stuff he overemphasizes a lot of words...it drives me fucking crazy, that mixed with this weird electronic shit they have added to their songs, I don't dig the new InMe.
The electronic stuff is only really prominent in SOTW (and the strings in the slow songs, obviously). I do think Dave sings a lot more naturally now than he used too though.. he was pretty much forcing his voice to sound different during the OE years.
6 years later, and the song STILL kicks ass

the new inme is gr8 evolving but keeping their true soul and roots, they are techinically brilliant and just no how to produce stunning songs
