  • I suffer from both simple partial seizures, and tonic-clonic seizures. All of my tonic-clonics occurred during the night while sleeping, never while awake. My only indication of having had one is the piece of tongue missing from my mouth in the morning and the fun muscle cramping. (Unless my partner shares the bed, then I have a witness). I can honestly say the simple partials for me are the scariest things I've ever experienced. Being awake and aware while it's happening is so frightening.

  • For those of you who have seizures and are willing to share your stories, check out my website at seizureinfo.yolasite.com and email me your stories through the website. I'll post them for others to read and together we can make that a place of healing.

  • Try a parasite cleanse, parasites in the body are often the cause of seizures for people who suffer from them but dont have epilepsy but many mainstream doctors are totally unaware of this. most people who have a parasite dont realize it themselves. If considering a more extream approach such as harsh medication or surgery please try this first. Verm X4U or Black walnut are the two most effective ones on the market. The cleanse may have to be repeated regularly to keep the seizures away

  • i used to have them too..my "aura" or warning was a numbness creeping up my leg, afterwards (post seizure) i was blind and temporarily paralyzed in one leg. they put me on meds and i never them then they slowly took me off the meds and i was good...they were idiopathic but healed, i geuss.

  • @Goldenace21 correction* temporarily* blind as well...all the after effects only last about a couple minutes

  • I wish you well. My wife suffers from seizures of several types, including grand mal. She has auras. Hers are not frequent enough that she can go under observation. So mysterious.

  • God bless you man and I hope it's pretty much smooth sailing for you from this point on

  • @RoyalZeoKnight

Think back to the last time you were sleeping. Other than dreaming, there is just nothing. You don't see darkness while asleep, just the same as when unconscious you don't see light, dark...anything.

  • @jackdal39

Some people have an aura, or warning, before their seizure. I do not. I have no feeling or sense that it is coming.

  • what do you feel before it?

  • @jackdal39 It's hard to explain, it just a felling(usually called an aura) that tells you the seizure is coming.

  • I got a question, if your awake and your having seizure, what do you see when your having seizure? Is it all black? Or whited out? Please answer :)

  • @RoyalZeoKnight

Because I am unconscious when I have a seizure, there is no white or black. There is nothing. For that amount of time, I see, hear, feel, smell nothing.

  • @bigfrohead55 but if theres nothing, it should be white, or since your closing your eyes, its black, i dont get it :I

  • @RoyalZeoKnight When I have my grand mal seizures I can see and hear what's going on. It doesn't look any different than when I'm not having a seizure. It just moves around more. The worst part is struggling to breath when you know you can't do anything about it.

  • Does it hurts???

  • @TheKhatanahlya

The seizure itself is not painful. However, I generally bit my tongue and sometimes hurt myself when falling. So it's more the pain afterward that I'd feel.

  • @juice504tmb

That's great that you've figured that out for you. That "light" you see is called an "aura" and some people have an aura, while other's don't. My brother is like you, in that he has an aura and can take meds to prevent a seizure. I don't have any aura. I go straight into the seizure with no warning. Thanks for the comment, though. Good to hear from another person with another viewpoint.

    Joe

  • @bigfrohead55 did the seizures turn out to be localized to one spot in your brain or were they more wide spread? judging by the appearance of your seizures, if i had to take it on a "what you can see" basis, I would say watever was triggering these seizures is the same each time, in two of your other grand mals ive seen, your seizures looked nearly identical

  • @rhino2960

They are generalized, not localized. If they had been localized, they would have been able to remove that part of my brain and stop the seizures that way. Because they are generalized, they are coming from all over in my brain, making that surgery impossible.

    Joe

  • Dam iam tired i have grand mal and i learnt how to stop it from going though but I get a warning before i pass out and when i found out how to stop it I never listin to them dam doctors no more tryin to put me on meds if you see a light in your eye before you go into a grand mal I kno I can tell you how to stop them them meds just make it worse

  • Are you doing any rehab like physiotherapy or occupational therapy?

  • @ghenzk

No, I didn't get to a point where my brain was destroyed enough that I needed to do physio or occupational therapy. i work a job, and live a very normal life now. I actually work in a school with kids who have multiple handicaps. I work as a teacher's aide, so I really know what the kids are going through when they have seizures. Thank you for the questions.

    Joe

  • @ExcuseMeCentral

That's actually a very good question. Some people ARE able to hear during their seizures, but with mine, I cannot.

    Joe

  • This might seem like a really stupid question but at any stage are you able to hear people or sounds during the seizure?

  • @DRnikkiHOUSE

I'm doing well these days. My seizures are very well controlled. I haven't had one in over a year and a half. I live a very normal life and work a job. :-)

    Joe

  • why did you scream :'(

  • @Niceboy3377

I have no control over what my body does during a seizure. The scream, or yell is involuntary. All the muscles in my body are getting sent tons of messages all at once, because of my brain like kind of short-circuiting, which means my vocal chords are getting messages sent to them too, so they make involuntary noises.

  • @bigfrohead55 oh r u better now :D

  • @Niceboy3377

I haven't had one in over a year and a half. The last one I had was I think January of 2010. So yes, I am much better. The impact they had on my life is immeasurable, but I live a very normal life now. I drive, work, am married, have a baby on the way. So for all who suffer from seizures, please don't give up...there is hope.

    Joe

  • @bigfrohead55 y were u shaking

  • @Niceboy3377

That's just part of the seizure. It is the brain sending messages to all the muscles in the body all at once.

    Joe

  • @bigfrohead55 ohh thanks for the info :D

  • Ever try weed? what meds do you take for this?

  • @megaterra69

No...never tried weed, but several people have recommended it. I take Felbatol and Topamax now, and the seizures are under control very well. I haven't had one in about a year and a half, and that one was only because of forgetting to take my meds.

  • @bigfrohead55 ahh, well I am glad to hear you found something that works man. Hope everything goes well for you. Keep up the good fight!

  • The seizure itself is not painful. However, I generally bit my tongue and sometimes hurt myself when falling. So it's more the pain afterward that I'd feel.

  • IOMG IM SOOO SORRY TO SEE YOU IN THIS

  • are they painful

  • I am indeed very blessed to have only the seizures to deal with. Now that they are under control with meds I live a very normal life.

  • the humain takes advantage of so many things be thankful that there nothin wrong with you
