I'm not diverting topics here, the owner of PAL is Lucio Tan, he's a business tycoon here. Owns several companies including PAL and has a major stock hold of Cathay Pacific as well. PAL is not really poor, they are just seeing the market right now. + with the FAA Category 2 downgrade it has taken toll with the Airline's economy here in the Philippines.

Boeing 747-8i will become the world longest airliner in the world one day. But, only Lufthansa ordered passengers version of 747-8i. Other airlines prefer to select Airbus A380 as their option because they just need one type of super jumbo in their fleet.

Actually airliners this days compare about seating for the aircraft.
The 747-8 can only offer 467 Seats in 3 - Class configuration. The A380 can offer 530 Seats in 3 -Class configuration.
So its a matter of airline profitability. The 747-8 is only good in Cargo hauling because of the long fuselage(Beats A340-600). The A380 beats in passenger numbers.
