You are not nearly nice enough to Crumbs, Brigitte. Bad form! When I lived in Hancock Park, I would totally go to the one in Larchmont after my run every morning. Yeah, the muffins are a little much, but, maybe because I'm a guy (and maybe 'cause I had just, y'know, run 5 miles) I was always able to finish them and that was like, a whole breakfast right there.

I'm not really a cake eater but one of my favorite of baked goods is the ube (AKA purple yam) flavored steamed rice muffins at Goldilocks - a bake shop with a number of locations in California. Not sure if the California bake shop products have the same taste as the original ones and would definitely want to try it next time I'm there.

Cupcake play-off 2009 is but a memory and yummy takes the golden cup. Im rooting for 'Crumbs Bake shop' for 2010. Sprinkles is strong in the packaging but that may change for 2010.Crumbs is weak in appearance but Im betting it'll come back strong for 2010 in the most decisive for factor-taste.
