This is why they don't play their older music, the audience doesn't show any enthusiasm as they do for the newer music. To me all their songs are great but they need to bring back more songs from the first to albums, and play Broken Mirrors live.
@dannyry2335 know what ya mean. most people dont pay tribute to their older songs and that is so damn sad cuz there a real treasures!! i think the highlight of all live concerts from RA ive seen is the live version of six ways til sunday ;-) fkin amazing!!
All you people sound like you've discovered gold in a coal mine, The Unraveling was unknown when it first came out, but people who know the band know the album now for the most part.
All your comments scream "I discovered them! I discovered them! I am a better fan than you."
DITCH Appeal to Reason and Endgame off your setlist and play songs from The Unraveling, REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE, Siren Song of the Counter Culture and Sufferer and the Witness.
Also, make songs that sound like Sufferer and BEFORE! I can't tell you how many people hate your new shit.
@AlmostaFlipinSkater hey endgame was fuckign amazing, appeal to reason just keep whereabouts unknown and fuck the rest. but endgame was incredible and they havent even played half of that live so they need to keep that there
@AlmostaFlipinSkater fuck you man. Appeal to reason and endgame were awesome. They have alot of songs. They changed alot. DEAL WITH IT! If you cant respect such an amazing band like Rise Against, then dont bother listening to them.
@thisisorisnotsparta I think it sounds exactly like the studio? Thats just me. You cant deny Zachs getting better though. Thats an orgasmic guitar tone he has:$
@onecabnomad I know that? Dan Percision, Todd Mohney, Chris Chasse and then Zach Blair. I was simply stating that his guitar playing has improved since he joined the band. (Which was in 2007) APPEAL TO REASON was released in 2008.
I got a new RA tattoo which is Joe's bass from Re-Education with the autographs of tim joe and brandon and the words 1000 Good Intentions... Joe complimented me last month at the 013 gig in the netherlands. Check my last fm page for pics (it happened!)
I love it. it's good they play stuff von the unraveling cuz that shows they don't forget about their origins. good ol' days when they played only in front of a bunch of 40 people xD oh man...it was great to see them playing Remains of summer merories on this tour. I would wish for so uch more old songs too but it was great <3 rise against is my life
@megalijm also having a raspy voice like he did back then....it would just change naturally when you get older and keep using it. same with dexter holland (the offspring), james hetfield(metallica), matt tuck(bullet for my valentine) etc
@rimticketts it's because he has vocal trainers now, after you sing a whole concert with that deep raspyness it actually hurts your voice, to make sure he can keep producing music he needed to calm his voice a bit
@Bocadillo77 Yeah, I hate that all the camera dudes just films the guitarist and the singer, even if the guitar don't play....ALWAYS. I don't know what it is in their head, but yeah, I love the band too, my favorite, I like all their songs, this is one of my favorites :D
I was just running through RA's live videos here in youtube and I saw this one. First in my head was "Shit! They still play this stuff?"
But I honestly am very happy that they do. This is the living proof that they will never ever sell-out, as "real punks" would say about major label thing.
@Fligis yeah but look at the amount of old stuff they play. they did this and everchanging which they did acoustic no less. idk its like afi they play only one old song live and davey goes" this is afi of the 90s" its gimmicky, its something major label bands do. or like when they closed out a show doing oart of blood red whit and blue. like they only did a part of the song because it wasnt being taken seriously
@jofx1992 rise against plays a shit ton of their old stuff. its just that all the live concerts that have large crowds like here or rock AM they play the more popular and new stuff. hell the concert i went to last year was quite litterly just the unravleing. they played every last song from that album and nothing else(well they forgot my life inside your heart but tim apologized greatly for missing that one in a interview)
@Jammey90 Yeah, I get you but I think they aren't near as good live as they are on album, Aerosmith is amazing in person I could not believe how good they were, they were better in person just wish that Rise against could do that.
dude in my personal opinion rise against is one of the best live performers out there, and you also got to put into account that the first album to there newest album his voice has changed and cleared up so cannot sound pitch perfect when it comes to there older songs
@goalkeepin4life I agree that they are great live, but as you noticed in your post - Tim's voice has changed. and it is very obvious when it comes to their old stuff. Just songs like Give it all, Heaven Knows sound strange for me. Yes, maybe it is because I'm used to hear his raspy voice in them, but still. His live voice changed, but not in really good way. :]]
But hell! They compensate that with the honest energy they give away.
It's a shame not many people knew the lyrics to this song. Besides Everchanging, this is the best song from the Unraveling. One of their best ever in my opinion
@aerztefanmarci If I were there, I would be able to sing along to all of them. Rise AGainst is the realest band out there, with the most things I, as a teenager, can relate to.
@riseagainst05050 yeah I noticed that too and Zach always wears that button down black shirt and black pants haha..I think the only one who wears different things is Brandon (but it could be b/c its hard to see him in the back
I love the end of this song. At Cleveland they played the unraveling instead of this, i like em both i was just thrilled they hadnt forgotten about their older stuff, either way all of their songs are good
did you guys ever notice Tim is always wearing the same green shirt...I've seen them in concert 5 times last year and each time he had on the green shirt?!?
@riseagainst1616 YES ive noticed... its like his concert shirt... its awesome. and have u noticed how Joe wears his "the clash" tishirt and black flag like all the time???
sweet im glad they plated that song. At the Philly show they played Gethsemane and it was awesome. At every show they played a different song from their fist album. And at the Vegas show they played join the ranks. I love their old stuff a lot
This is why they don't play their older music, the audience doesn't show any enthusiasm as they do for the newer music. To me all their songs are great but they need to bring back more songs from the first to albums, and play Broken Mirrors live.
