I was just wondering... Why are you saying that "Mai Kawasumi" sucks, when your (main?) fighter is rather weird and has simple attacks that deals too much damage. I know the whole "broken" thing, but at least that character has a good set of moves. Ikkyu's moves are not understandable at all. And just in case if you are wondering, my favorite mugen fighter is Hukusyuki by "kisaragiryuto";"eminanaya". I am just saying that you need to give that character a bit of credit here...

For damage, the difference between Ikkyu and Mai is that Mai is a combo whore with enough moves to fit at least 4 different characters while Ikkyu is an old school type of character that doesn't even have supers. Furthermore, how are Ikkyu's moves are pretty simple while Kasumi's are...throwing fire hydrants and summoning a ghost loli with bunny ears to fight for her. And the styling is not the deal breaker here, Mai is a poorly made, broken clusterfuck of a mess.

It's a combo of my skill and Ikkyu's abilities being effective against typical cheater AI. The dash special is projectile proof, allowing me to counter Mai's attempts at suppressing me with her fire hydrants. His rage system is very nice against aggressive adversaries too.

The only version of Mai K thats good is the first version the EFZ version that's a decent char. She doesnt have any of the flashy bullshit and is just a normal char. Yet like the n00b " my likey shiny and ZOMG combos" so they pick this one all the time and pass over the high quality less flashy version.

That theory works for all games with pros versus scrubs. Like with MB, GG, CvS, KOF, HnK. SF3, etc. I seen pros play those games and n00bs using broken / badly edited version poorly. Gives a bad name to those games, good players and mugen itself.

The only time I downloaded "MvC2" Mai was to see her if her superspark was a sprite instead of a group of helpers. Turns out they're the latter.

Casuals playing street fighter and sucking at it in an arcade venue is one thing - they're still playing a base 2D fighter at least.

But a casual believing that "someshit" like this is "balanced" shows just how ignorant they really are. Hell, my niece who's about six would have a better clue what a balanced character would be like.
