Why is everybody up Ron Paul's ass? He claims to be all about FREEDOM but he wants to dismantle the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Civil Rights Act and stunt LGBTQ rights and access to birth control/abortions even more than they already are! Do people like him just 'cuz he wants to legalize weed? I think I'll take my bodily autonomy and right to have an abortion if I so choose over not being hassled for smoking weed, at least for a while.

@ToruKun1 Ron Paul doesn't want to do any of those things. He just believes that instead of a Federal Government telling you what to do the responsibility would fall upon states rights and what laws to voters of that state would enact. Example: if one state decided that they wanted capitol punishment for all pedophilia crimes that would be up to the state to enforce, not the Federal Government.

Those organizations and legislation just divide society and suggest that those groups shouldn't be viewed equally. The USA's inalienable rights aren't universal or enough for some people. It should be up to the people to decide what their government or States should or shouldn't handle for them.
Who determines inalienable rights? The USA's constitution? Personally, I think States should determine most of these things, from welfare to healthcare.

The purpose of the Constitution is to limit the power of the federal government, and it shouldn't have the power to use my tax dollars to take care of people who refuse to take care of themselves. You have the freedom to make good choices with your life and put yourself in a position to care for your family. People vote and enact laws and programs because the people living in that country want their government to do those things for them. But in the end, its all up to the government that puts those laws into place.I don't see why so many people froth at the mouth and shout "they must be brainwashed by the government to want those things!" If our country was founded some other way, we'd have stricter gun laws.
