  • Silly Bafford should have stored his scepter here instead!

  • life changing

  • @babyp3k Heh heh.

  • That´s very interesting. Do other levels also have such unused rooms?

  • @Klingl3r Yes, but none as large, as interesting, or unintentionally released to the consumer.

  • XD I'm no expert at level editing, so do you think it was possibly going to be another level, or is it just an area to put all the extra stuff in?

Do other leels have these areas?

  • Hi TheGrimSmile! *waves*

I think it's very likely they were going to make this level much bigger. Not only is this huge unused space there, but there are streets covered over with windows embedded inside other buildings, lots of spaces in walls, pieces of extra sewer tunnels, inaccessible rooms in buildings outside, and a secret compartment behind a painting that wasn't utilized. No other level contains so many remnants. I guess they didn't want to go overboard with the very first mission.

  • Thanks for the info :D

Hrm, if I ever learn how to use dromed, maybe I'll make something out of it...

  • It's fun just turning gravity off (Shift+Q) and flying around the levels, going right through walls, and discovering things. :D

  • @ehcmier thats all you have to do is press Shift + Q to turn off gravity ?

  • @souljastroyer666 Sorry, only in the editor's game mode.

  • @ehcmier well how do you get or do the editor's mode

  • @souljastroyer666 For that, you need to have a copy of the game installed, patched, AND you have to install DromEd, the editor, which should be on the disks with a readme for installing, or available online.

  • @ehcmier kay thanks

  • How strange, I've never noticed that before =/

  • If you have the Gold Edition and play the Ester Egg Level that the designers made for fun, you can see a plaque near the area explaining it all.

  • Yep! :D

  • You know, of all games, Thief SHOULD have gotten its fame, but you know, I think many are discovering the past more than expected since the release of Thief 3... so I heard.

  • Every time one of the games is added to Steam, or Game Tap type places, there's a surge of interest in other titles. Also, whenever there's a mention about Thief in a popular gaming magazine regarding stealth, or like when Eidos Montréal dropped a hint about a possible 4th Thief title, there was a surge of interest. Since Thief 3 is available on more than one platform, and ever since Thief 3 came out on XBOX, quite a few people have been intrigued enough to give the older titles a try. :)

  • Yeah, which makes it all the better!

  • A bonus, for sure. There was a recent surge of interest after "Yahtzee" did a "Zero Punctuation" review of The Dark Project:

  • Yeah I saw that. I laughed when he commented on when the guards are trying to find you and you are praying to a god you never heard of that they won't find you! So true...

  • :) Interesting.

  • The question came up at TTLG, so I thought "What the heck?"

  • Neat, never looked in there before. Interesting post.
