I have been a Laura Marling fan for a while and I'm glad she won. I am American and I had no idea who Cheryl Cole was before this, she's just not as popular here. But I did look her up. She's just another mainstream popstar who sings meaningless babble. Laura deserves the recognition much more.

I was totally prepared to cry with sheer anger at how cruel it was to nominate such a talented musician next to that "sweetheart" that everyone loves for some reason that is totally beyond me - Cheryl Cole - then I heard Boy George say something about a rambling man and I was like WAIT A MINUTE.
Then I cried with sheer pride and shock.
