In this song Jack White's voice, to me, sounds like a child trapped in a man's body, where as Jack Johnson's sounds like an adult talking to a child. I find the former much more appealing.

Thats exactly what I thought. I never understand bands that do covers but change/add nothing.

I'm a big fan of Nirvana and love the way they would do covers. Covering bands/singers like Devo, Vaselines, Bowie and Leadbelly whose styles were nothing like Nirvana. But somehow they could take a Bowie Song and turn it into a Nirvana styled song.

White Stripes also do a good job of this with songs like Jolene by Dolly Parton and Death Letter by Son House.
