The chords aren't even the same. Even if you didn't know that, look at it this way: if you ignore the open E, there are two sets of power chords being played in each song - one set it played more often than the other. In the Megadeth song, the second set of chords goes BELOW the first set, with the last chord being the first chord of the first set. In the Metallica song, the first chord of the second set is the ABOVE the first chord in the first set and goes up.

where did you find that information? my guess is it's from an unreliable source. James Hetfield, except for the Garage Inc. album of course, wrote prob. 90% of metallicas music. which is original. and by james hetfield. about his life. no remorse and call of ktulu, i think, were about his mom dying of cancer. im not sure about all this. just a guess. but i think my guess is reasonable.
the call of ktulu is an instrumental, mustaine wrote most of it, but yeah nowadays james & lars write most of it. But ride the lightening & most songs on kill em all were written partly by dave & he did the intro solo to no remorse which kirk now plays in his own style. kirks style is partly infuenced by mustaine because of stuff like that.

The chords aren't even the same. Even if you didn't know that, look at it this way: if you ignore the open E, there are two sets of power chords being played in each song - one set it played more often than the other. In the Megadeth song, the second set of chords goes BELOW the first set, with the last chord being the first chord of the first set. In the Metallica song, the first chord of the second set is the ABOVE the first chord in the first set and goes up.

I do like Megadeth a lot more than I like Metallica, but this just had a slight similarity between eachother. I don't think that Metallica has ever on purpose stolen anything from Megadeth, if some riffs are alike it could mean that they're first of all playing in the same genre, and second of all there's sooo many bands out there. Bound to happen every once in a while (if you wanna see some stolen riffs, compare Led Zeppelin - Kashmir with Manowar - Die for Metal.

where did you find that information? my guess is it's from an unreliable source. James Hetfield, except for the Garage Inc. album of course, wrote prob. 90% of metallicas music. which is original. and by james hetfield. about his life. no remorse and call of ktulu, i think, were about his mom dying of cancer. im not sure about all this. just a guess. but i think my guess is reasonable.

the call of ktulu is an instrumental, mustaine wrote most of it, but yeah nowadays james & lars write most of it. But ride the lightening & most songs on kill em all were written partly by dave & he did the intro solo to no remorse which kirk now plays in his own style. kirks style is partly infuenced by mustaine because of stuff like that.
