  • comic is amazing. read it several times since the first time i read it which was like 5 yrs ago.

i'm hoping this movie will be great

veidt looks..idk.. not the same to me... veidt seemed like he has more muscle and idk.. it just feels different. i suppose it's because the actor just looks younger..

  • I agree, this actor seems like he'll make Veidt look like a pompous little queer.

Silk Spectre and the Comedian are okay.

  • fridat is so close

  • I bought my son a junior 4-day pass for the upcoming Comic-Con 2009. Since it is the junior 4-day pass, I understand that it is only for ages 12-17. My son will be turning 18 this coming June, but I purchased the passes months before while he is still 17. Will my son still be allowed the passes or will I have to purchase the regular 4-day passes for 18 and above? Is a refund still optional?

  • fuck no bitch

  • is this video on itunes or what?

  • Oh man... This movie kind of disappointed me. The whole ending was alternated! As well as a whole bunch of other shit. Oh well. The fight scenes were still kickass. And they nailed the Rorschach image. I love his hair so muuucchh.

(I saw the movie early at army base theatre. Bahaha.)

  • hey i never read comic book farchnaught would i enjoy the movie?

  • Yeah you would

  • yes you probably would ive read it a bunch of times and i think that i will like it they had to change some things though because Zach Snyder wanted to make it the read ending but they said it couldnt be more that 2 hrs and 45 min or something so hes gonna put some of it on the directors cut when the dvd comes out

  • Yeah, you would. Though, most of the fight scenes are in slow motion and it gets kind of old after a while. But, yeah! It's still pretty kickass. Oh yeah.. I hope you like blue penis.

  • I did read somewhere that Zack Snyder said there would be no sequel, he had to fight to get it that way though, apparantly WB wanted to change the ending and make it modern day so there was potential for a franchise. I guess in a way if 300 hadn't been made then Watchmen would be a very different movie.

  • At 2:34 that girls is hot

  • Yeah. Sequel would ruin it. Some things are meant to be kept untouched.

    So excited for the movie!!!!!

  • How can you make a sequel to Watchmen? Watchmen's the sort of film you could only base on a book, if the graphic novel didn't exist then Hollywood scriptwriters wouldn't take the time to make a story as crafty as this. Leave it as a one-off, something like Lord of the Rings where the cast can claim "we filmed the unfilmable" and leave it at that. Even if there is a new series of Watchmen, I doubt Alan Moore would be writing it.

  • i would love to see a squel novel done tho,see what is on alan moore mind about todays problems

  • they are doing a sequel to the movie, and making another series of watchmen in a graphic novel form. also, the ending has been changed. which is good, because the outcome of the heroes might change from how they were in the graphic novel.

  • If they make a sequel I will be pissed off. Only Alan Moore can write this, the movie is more of a concept than a story. A sequel would destroy the meaning of such a graphic novel/film as this.

  • IM so FUCKING EXCITED TO C THAT MOVIE NEXT FRI!!!

    The graphic novel was amazing

  • yeah me too!! i fucking cant wait either

  • Get a life.

  • i just hope rorshach doesnt turn into a pop culture icon cuz i have loved having him among only die hard fans for a long time

  • Sorry to say but, amongst comic book/graphic novel fans, Rorschach has been a pop icon for many YEARS

  • well yes but for comic book/graphic novel fans. Rorschach and Watchmen have been slightly hidden from a lot of the mainstream media and i always get asked who is on my shirt when i where my Rorschach t-shirt around. i always liked answering that question but now everyone will know. still i am pumped for the film. looks great!

  • Next Week GUY...just one week of more wait. =)

  • nostalgia................

  • i love zack snyder..but...ENOUGH WITH THE DAMN SLO-MO SHOTS!!!

  • lol yeah!

    xD

  • he hits a woman lol

  • Why doesn't he release it now, lucky Alan Moore already has a DVD of it, of course he did make the graphic novel along with Dave Gibbons. But it is still not fair cuz I can't wait for March 6th haha.

  • ugh it needs to hurry up and be march 6

  • Holy nerd boners...

  • I have to mop up a tear in the corner of my eye every time I see THIS trailer. I saw Koyaanisqatsi about 10 years ago, and to have Phillip Glass revisited like this is... fucking amazing. This movie's gonna be good... nuff said.

  • I've seen a few screenings and they use that song when Dr. Manhattan escapes to the moon. It's epic.

  • You mean Mars not the Moon.

  • madness...

    this...is...watchmen!!!!!

  • 2:40 poor dollar bill, damn those revolving doors and long billowing capes!

  • And the Assholes at the bank who made him where it.

  • yo is that captain amarica

  • no, his name is the comedian

  • they meant the dead body of dollar bill at 2:40 probably. much more captn americanish

  • Good god, this movie will be fantastic. The way Rorschach's face shifts looks incredible, just the way I imagined it would be! And Daniel and Adrien and Jon... I am going to see this on opening night, definitely.

I can't help but snicker when I see Moloch in the fridge! Hahahah!

  • Well, not the way I imagined.

I thought it would look more like a viscous liquid.

    It's a bit cloud-like in the video.

  • i'm VERY psychd about this movie!! although, it getting very popular may not be a good thing, constant parodys of it and things like that. i can imagine rorschach appearing on family guy.

  • The song pruit igoe matches perfectly in Watchmen, it realy transports you into a comic book universe.

  • The whole thing so perfect!

I mean like EXACTLY like the comic.

    UNREAL!!!

I can't wait to see it!!!!

  • I don't see whats with all the skepticism. Kevin Smith saw a prescreening, and said it was absolutely phenomenal

  • Well, I wouldnt call Kevin Smith the optimal resource for anything worth watching. However, I agree with you on the whole skepticism dsiplayed online. Seriously, we have all seen Sin City and 300 and I doubt anyone will disagree that both films were amazingly well done. There's no reason to believe The Watchmen will not do the same.

  • It's Zach Snyder, the only director I have ever heard of who keeps multiple copies of the GN that the movie he's working on is based on and actually copies the images and lines from the books.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a clone of the GN in movie format (Which is exactly what we all want) XD

  • zach Snyder tends to stay true so far with the imagery of the graphic novels. 300 was meant for every scene to look like a picture. and he did that successfuly so judging what i have seen so far of the watchmen trailers ,he is going to stay true to the story and the imagery.

  • I honestly thought that the movie would be godaweful, there are just too many elements right? Well, I sappose I was wrong. Sorry.

  • what is that structure that comes out of the ground ?

  • Its something that Dr. Manhattan created via his telekinetic powers... It is where him and Silk Spectra II discus the fate of the earth

  • read the book?

  • a crystal castle, similar to a clockwork, built by dr. manhattan in mars. it's an analogy to the neverending multi facetated nature of time, as he sees it. it's the 'result' of cogs and mechanisms of a watch his father tossed through the windows because he wanted him to be a nuclear scientist. that career led him to become what he is. as a scientist he got involved in an accident with an intrinsic field subtractor.

  • i dont know how this movie is going to work but it looks good

    i hope it will be

  • i hope it works, but there is so much to tel in watchmen, i have no idea how they will do that in 2 hours and 30 mins

  • They won't. And they don't intend to. That would be impossible, unless they make two films. However, there will be an extended version on DVD and Blu-ray.

  • They are talking about making a sequel

  • No. That was just an idea which ended with a closure.

  • Oh Ok Thanks

  • there isn't a sequel to watchmen. Did you ever read the comic.? you dumb ass. and besides they only make sequels if the movie did good, this movie is not even out yet.

  • That's NOT entirely true. Sometimes Hollywood does plan, and (rarely) make, sequels without having the success of a first film. On the other hand, if they made a sequel to Watchmen, then they're being very disrespectful to the material and they should be SHOT for doing so!

  • I seriously just pissed myself.

  • Oh man...no offense but I hope were not going to be in the same theater :)

  • Oh, we are. I'll make sure of it now. And I'll make sure to sit RIGHT next to you. And eventually make my way on your lap.

    You just wait.

  • I think this is gonna be a blast!

  • im making rorchach mask 4 the movie realese

  • 1 month from friday!

  • don't forget that the Comidian and New Slik spectre are badasses (must be in the blood) and Dr Manhatten is like god

  • looks like zack's gonna have fun with the slow motion again! But that's okay, because it made some scenes in 300 cooler.

  • LOL... Dollar Bill!... what a smuck!

  • i agree. the ending was an awsome ending in my opinion. and it was not a cliche ending from a non literary perspective. it was realistic. i hope it stays the same. awsome trailer too

  • Does anyone know what song this is?

  • It's actually two. One is Prophecies and the other is Pruit Igoe by Philip Glass.

  • So its two different songs? or two different versions?

  • It's two different songs. The first one you hear is Prophecies and the second one, beginning at the point where you see Jon Osterman in the test chamber, that one is Pruit Igoe. Both are the original versions by Philip Glass.

  • Thank you so much i appreciate it!

  • The second one really feels like Watchmen. First, I thought it would be part of the Watchme score...

  • Yeah, when I first heard them I was thinking "Wow, Tyler Bates is doubling on the dose of epic for this score since his work in 300" then I found out that they were actually written by Philip Glass for a film done back in '83. From what I have heard of the actual Watchmen score though, Bates has been composing what's going to be a rich slice of awesome. There's a sampling of one track on Amazon called Prison Fight that I recommend you feast your ears upon.

  • Prison Fight sounds goooood =)

  • If the framing of Dr. Manhattan ending is in fact true, then it would be completely contradictory to the idea that the world would be united by an alien attack considering that Dr. Manhattan's power is the result of an American science accident. Therefore, Ozymandias's plan would be ruined because everyone would blame the nuclear attacks on America wielding Dr. Manhattans power as opposed to believing the entire earth is under attack by something completely alien.

  • I did not like the ending of the novel, it upset me. Don't spam me hate comments, if you actually read the novel well enough you would agree. Also, if you haven't read the novel in a while, read it, then watch the trailers. The trailers fit with every detail in the book. It's amazing.

  • I have read the novel many times and I love the ending. I think you have not read it "well enough" if you don't like the ending. The symbolism of it is perfect and ties in greatly with the rest of the story.

  • The only thing I didn't like about the ending was the squid. I thought it was a bit ridiculous. Zack Snyder took the squid out of the movie. I liked the ending because it brings up a good moral question: "how far can you go to stop violence". In the end, they do they think would be best. And the villian seems to doubt that he made the right decision.

  • yes, but through the whoe time reading it i thought there would be a major show off between them, and i was hoping. When the bad guy was reavealed it was a shocker, i flipped out. But the bad guy asked himself only once if he did the right thing. I hated the bad guy, thats y im hoping that the ending will change.

  • So fable, what you're saying is that if we don't agree with you fully about the ending then we haven't read the book 'well enough'. There's this thing called opinions.

  • Veidt is not a villain. Thats the point of the novel, to show that in reality there is no such thing as clear "good guys and bad guys". Veidt sees what he has done as a service to humanity and a heroic act to save the world. Calling him the "bad guy" is over simplifying the ending. And Snyder has said many times that the spirit of the ending remains intact (Veidt survives, he unleashes a deadly force upon New York, and the moral queston of whether or not his plan was justified all remain).

  • smart, the reason i said bad guy was so people who haven't read the novel didn't know the ending, but you just blurt it out.

  • Good job there man, spoiling the ending is always really nice

  • SPOILER ALERT - SPOILER ALERT

I agree that your view is the view the novel intended to present, but I disagree with that view in principal. Veidt IS the villan. Murder is murder, no matter what the reason. Rorshach is the only one who understood that. Killing innocents to save more innocents is still killing innocents. Morality is an absolute. That said, this is one of the most brilliant pices of literature I've ever read and the movie looks AWESOME so far!

    END SPOILER - END SPOILER

  • There is no heroes or villains in Watchmen. It's all about point of view.

  • SPOILER ALERT - SPOILER ALERT

You weren't paying attention to my post. I said yes, that is the point the novel is trying to make, but I disagreed. To me Veidt is a "villian". His line of thinking is basically that evil deeds can be tolerated "for the greater good". That is precisley how many villians justify their work. A truly good character (and Watchmen had none) would try to find a way to avert war without compromising his/her morality.

    END SPOILER - END SPOILER

  • Whoops. I didn't read this looks like I misinterpreted your post too sorry X_X

  • I would say Dan was a truly good character.

  • that sounds like rorshach to me. i mean granted, he has problems, but he he's definitely a "no compromise" kind of guy. to me, he realizes that their may be no noble way to prevent war, but he still will not compromise.

  • Well DRM40 that's where you go into philiosophy. Called, Machiavellian, I think (probably mistaken). It'll all depend on how people see it. "Evil" for the sake of the MOST people, or "Evil" just being evil. That's what I love about Rorschach and Ozymandias, they seem to be complete opposites in that regard. And yet

*SPOILER* ror is the one who gets punished*SPOILER*

  • Did you even read the comic book?

What do you think the final page is all about?

And dear god, don't cite Machiavelli.

  • What the fuck? How the hell do I imply that I HAVEN'T read the book? And besides I can cite whoever the hell I want.

  • as long as they keep the main story and epic ending there (the meaning of it, not a giant squid) i will be happy.

and please keep Rorschach jumping out of the fridge =P

  • I think the squid is in there, since in the comic, at the end of Ch11, we see first this massive white-blue light, and then it ends.

Besides, it wouldnt make sens if the squid were out..

  • they changed the ending, the squid is out of the movie. Instead Ozymendias builds a machine that causes nuclear explosions around the world which kills millions and frames Dr. Manhattan for it. Google "New Watchmen Movie Ending" if you dont believe me.

  • Where the hell is the real comic-con version, i know this isn't the real one from comic con the real one is on somewhere on youtube but its like only 56 sec. of it so why won' t they release the real version?

  • Squid out, rape in (as you can see here)

  • I hope they change the ending, in the novel it was so unexpected and when they get to the bad guy, its like wtf? why would that happen? I wanted them to do the opposite of what they did, it ticked me off that they didn't, but i agree that they should stick to the novel, but i want the ending to be different as well.

  • 2:18 Gosh, the Comedian's a nice guy!

  • Falcon... PUNCH!!!

  • When I saw commercials for this movie, I thought it was an ad for Walmart at first because of the Comedian's pin... XD

  • I literally can't wait for this movie! I went to Spencer's at the mall, and they had posters for it! I got a Rorschach one! It's awesome!

  • damn that went far

  • Nite Owl doesn't kill Ozy.

The script they adapted from was made in 2003. They changed everything and, at many points during filming, decided to use the graphic novel instead of the script.

    There you go.

  • someone obviously loves there watchmen. I haten on you though. I will try to be the first but in the seat at the theatre on 3/6/9 unless Fox tries to block the advertised date

  • I hope so. the script that I have it was written in 03 by David Hayter. It was the Third draft. Hope they change that ending. And I really hope they put the squid in there

  • I had read the script. It is online. HopeZack Snyder change it somehow 'cause the ending was awfull. There was no giant squid. And Ozy was killed by Nite Owl.I don's see the point of killing Ozy b'cause what is beautiful is the big empty that he feels after the "salvations of the world". Hope they change that

  • thanks for spoiling it dick

now its not the most well adapted comic book movie i thought it was going to be.

    i fuckin hate Zack

  • dude. in the trailer it shows the explosion that leads to the squid thing. so they probably changed it. Zack snyder goes very true to the novel

  • I don't know. Zack as told that there isn't any squid in the movie. He have said that in all the drafts that he have read there wasn't any squid in any of them. Zack as told that he have changed the squid to another type of solution. But I don's know if I trust it. I really want to see that squid in the movie. lol

  • well, in this script I have, instead of a squid there is a bunch of nuclear explosion in the major cities of the world. maybe that explosion in the trailer it's not related with any squid. but I hope that you're right and that Zack don't change that part

  • oh that sux. cause it wouldnt make sense. the squid is apart of the novel. and zack's interview didnt really confirm the squid either..so idk.i hope so too

  • the explosion in the trailer looks more like the dream sequence nite owl has where he and silk spectre are vaporized by the explosion. it doesn't happen for real though. but yeah i will be dissapointed if they use nukes as the solution in the movie because everyone would think it was russia and not aliens. that was the point of the squid.

  • They better put the squid in!

    =0

  • no not that one. the blue explosion in the city. the dream one is a nuke w/ mushroom cloud. but ya. thats very true. would defeat the whole purpose

  • The lawsuit is over and Watchmen is coming out as planned!!!

    March 6, here we come!!!!!!!

  • just be happy the movie IS coming out

  • this movie is going to be great i kind of cring at the thought of people that dont know the story being like oh this sucks its soo unrealistik

  • Some people are upset about the lack of the squid in the movie, and I understand. But considering that the Black Freighter and the Marooned story aren't in the movie, either, it makes sense.

There just isn't enough time in a film to include EVERY element, as great as a six hour Watchmen movie would be. If the squid were in it without the elements that forshadow it, audiences would be like "WTF?"

I think it will be be as true to the book as it can, and an AWESOME movie in and of itself.

  • how does the black freighter foreshadow the squid?

  • Adrian's story parallels the captain in Marooned.

Adrian talks about riding on the backs of the dead and says he dreams of swimming toward a dark...and then trails off before he says ship. Or something along those lines.

Not to mention the author of the story in the book is responsible, along with many other intellectuals in the world of Watchmen, for designing Adrian's squid.

  • dude i seriously want a 6 hour watchmen movie though lol.

  • pause at 2:40 it looks like Clint Eastwood

  • i just finished the novel and seeing these trailers gives chills. frickin amazing!

  • Yeh.... First time i saw the trailer to this, i wasn't to sure about it being any good, then I read the novel, and now this looks like the most awesome thing ever

  • With a name like "chickenmolester69" i'm suspecting you're trollin' this video.

  • Allrighty, watchmen is a comic that teaches you various morals based on the characters experiences. It teaches you the negitive and positive side of heroism that i doubt they will be able to reflect in the movie, and teaches you the fresh story (as in very few books teach it) about Dr. Manhattan, a pseudo god and his struggles to connect to humanity. All i'm saying is that a movie is brilliant, but a comic can be just the same, and scince it is infact 300 pages long have more content to enjoy.

  • Sweet! sooo...

    Spoilers at 0:39 ..lulz

At 1:05 you can see Hooded Justice and Captain Metropolis.

    Rorschach as a kid 2:25 and Dollar Bill,killed 2:41

  • Good catch on the picture.

  • its a twenty year old comic, i doubt anything will be spoiled

  • hehe,true!

  • except the ending.

  • i am excited for this movie. last yr i was counting down to the release of the dark knight. this year, the watchmen. man, i wish the freakin movie would come out now.

  • 2:18 The Comedian Punches a random lady.

Damn, between that and the grassy knoll thing, they really are making him more evil than he was in the book.

  • He shot a pregnant woman in Vietnam, pregnant with his seed I might add. IDK how more evil you can make him look after that.

They actually show Dollar Bill's murder, whoa.

I hope they show the deaths of the rest of the fallen Minutemen, too.

  • Oh yeah, forgot about that part

  • Rors's ink mask just looks so cool in motion. I hope the wait for this release doesn't take too long.

  • This movie is gonna be epic. It's gonna stay true to the graphic novel and it will do it justice. You'll see.

  • The fate of Watchmen will be decided this month!

Please don't push the release date or WORSE, don't SHOW IT AT ALL!!!

  • Having read the book, I'm not understanding why ppl would be so upset about them changing the weird squid part. As pixadavid said, it was hardly the most brilliant part of the story. Hell, if that's all that gets changed and the rest of the movie is faithful....it will be the best comic movie yet.

  • release this movie already!!!

    I'm so excited

  • He hasn't. relax. They have changed the ending..Though really the SPOILER!!! ***psychic squid bomb*** END SPOILER!!! was never exactly the best part of the comic...

  • I hope Alan Moore likes this one. He won't though.

  • i hope it lives up to the hype

  • It looks amazing in high quality!

  • The best part for me is when Some Bitch throws the ear rings at Naked Renegade Member of Blue Man Group.

  • this reply is filled with utmost win.

  • lol XD

  • RELEASE THE MOVIE ALREADY!

  • this movie is gonna be awesome >fuck fox

  • Agreed, the fans need to do something about it if they delay, and more importantly edit it in any way.

  • so does your dad because when he was 8 his best friend touched him

  • Wut.

    Troll.

  • your fucked up as a human being, but I don't have to tell you, your user name kinda hints it.

  • and I've done your mother. She was hot!

  • alright music from koyaanisqatsi
