J , i was backstage in Macon when you were with seaLevel , i lost my access past and you got me a sandwich , i am just a old man now on a long list of Brothers and Sisiter, Bless you
Jaimoe is as good of a man as you can meet. Played in a band with him with Razzy Bailey for 8 months 6 nights a week in Macon, Ga. in1978. He's GREAT!!!
Hello Johnny, we played together in that band at 33rd Ave. High School. We played a lot of good music back then together. I played trumpet in that band and you are right, it's good chemistry that stirs the soul and the hits just keep on coming. I'm playing and singing in a local gospel here in Gulfport. You were very good then and I'm certain you're great now. You go brother!!
I have always liked this light touch jazz guy,.met him finally in Asheville,NC. Talked `bout the early days of Persey Sledge,.first and best drummer,.and Jack Dejohnnette,.the jazz portal he came thru,.,this is a great clip.
Jaimoe reminded me of Derek Bell of the Chieftains in this interview, even though one is American and the other was Irish, one was black and the other was white, one played American blues rock and the other played Irish folk, one played drums and the other played the harp. But both had this whimsical spirit about them, and give forth great amounts on wisdom in a very concise manner. Which is why I love them both.
