Around 06:30 in the video, Ryan makes the point that they first filmed the 'falling in love' scenes during production, took a month to live together, and then filmed the concluding break-up scenes of 'Blue Valentine'. Then in the very next question, some girl asks him the exact same question, so he kind of chides her for not listening by asking "You getting high back there? What's going on?...At least share with everybody so you'll all be the same."

In response to the tattoo question, Ryan said, I think, "The Giving Tree seemed like a good idea because it's about a co-dependent and a classic enabler." Considering the subject matter of the movie and his character Dean's relationship with his wife, it seems the tattoo was put on just for this movie. (That's how I interpreted the answer.)
