  • Hey Dan,

Just wanted to give a shout out from Kentucky in the U.S! I shave with an old Gillette fatboy that my grandfather gave me before he passed away. Still works great, but the adjusting mechanism is stuck. Really appreciate your videos and look forward to seeing more in the future. Happy Shaving!

  • Hi DeltaRooster7997

Thanks for your reply, cool to use the fatboyrazor that your grandfather gave you. It proofs that this gillette safetyrazors are very durable!

take care and greetings from the Netherlands!

  • Great upload, thanks for sharing!

  • @PaceShave Thanks! I like safetyrazors. I think you don't need 6 blades to get a smooth shave. Just one blade and the right technique will give you a very BBS shave! With 6 blades I will have more skinirritation. Just one DE blade and a safetyrazor will do the job! Just a good old vintage safetyrazor will do the job! And it will save you al lot of money

  • I have a green white pack of astra platinum DE blades(100 blades) And I like them. A strange thing about the gillette super silver blades and the astra blades is that both DE blades are made in by Fabrique ZAO Petersburg Products in Russia. But the astra blades are much better!

  • Interesting that you can get traditional shaving supplies in drugs stores. Here in the UK, most supplies have to be purchased through specialized shops.

Also, I was looking through some of my granddad's old things recently and found a box of Gillette Super Silver blades. Despite being very old they looked to be in good condition, but felt very dull when I tried to shave with them. You think Gillette would have figured out how to sharpen them by now!

  • You have the same experience with the gillette super silver blades? I must say the gillette blue blades are much better! I don't buy the super silver blades anymore. To expensive and they feel dull. You can buy featherblades for less. De Vergulde Hand shavingsoap is real dutch shavingsoap. Most drugstores sell these shavigsoaps. In the town where I live there is also a Body shop store and they sell some good traditional shavingsoaps and creams! Thanks for your comment.

  • @dan1979geboren if you can get a hold of them, Astra Platinum blades are a the best that I have used.
