@kuzenny I am afraid that Rice wine vinegar is totally different as Rice wine. If you couldn't find any Rice wine, use Dry Sherry instead, it will do pretty much the same job. ;)

Those look lovely! I have an addiction to these things.... Can I ask, would it be possible to roll thickly in flour before the batter since my local takeaway has a very bread-like thick layer around the chicken, which I love. I don't know if this is cornflour or just a very thick and gloopy batter?

if you want the same chicken ball you get from the chinese take away then the flour u use is self rasin flour.:)
