i (jack) have a picture of my grandpa and his two brothers during ww2. he and his brother maurice were army. in the picture my grandpa's wearing the open weave type belt buckle and maurice is wearing the more classic type buckle. so since it was not clarified which is more accurate i would say that it doesn't matter. i've noticed surplus stores sell the classic type more and websites, like at the front, tend to sell the open weave more.

The only blank firing guns I would buy would be the full auto ones, but those are only sold in japan and the UK. If you want a blank firing non class-3 weapon. Just buy a real one and buy blanks for it. That's what everyone with a garand, k98, mosin nagant, etc. does.

I've never done that so I couldn't tell you. I would just keep it the same, they look fine without it. Most original stuff has it faded anyway.

Very Cool... I have a few item's from the U.S. Army Air Corps. I have one thing that I know you would love. I have a M9A1 Bazooka. This was the two-piece launcher that made it more convenient to carry, particularly for the airborne forces. As a matter of fact it is the Bazooka that Matt Damon used to take out the Half Track in Saving Private Ryan. Still trying to find some M6A3 Rockets to go with it.
