@ Paha57770--fascinating stuff. What was your vantage point? Old or new compound? I lived in N67 at the new compound until March 2006. Looks like the old compound? Not sure.
Midwestern storms are intense, nothing like out here in Cali. My dad has footage of a lightning storm, I think it was in Montana, where the whole sky is raining down lighting all at once. It's was 2:00 am and it looks like daylight.
Nice. There's a million things in life that man can stragegize about, or work around. Then, there are things like huge powerful storms coming at you -with Nature's Awesome Power that is gigantic, or the Leviathon of an Atomic Bomb -Amazing, Wonderous, Powerful, Awesome and if you can't stop it, you might as well enjoy the rare experience of viewing this rare light & sound show while you're still alive to experience it.
That's me driving past at 1:00 in my Montana Blue Cadillac. I live behind those houses in the apartment complex and my first thought was that we didn't have a basement, so we ran out to the car, I screamed at some kids to run inside in the bathrooms, and booked it to the hospital. They had little babies in pouches of 5 around nurses so they can shelter in the basement. Just their little pinks heads were showing. It's was real and scary. Thankfully they had generators. I helped with weather
We were out at Mike Carlow's Sundance when it started coming in fast. Got home in time to shoot this vid. We have a basement so I felt pretty okay about it!
Go into a hallway & shut all doors w/ mattress over your head..the walls will be going in & out..go to the center of the home where the stable walls are..
Maybe it's before and after..

When you see the GREEN sky
You know there is a tornado around you
Go into a hallway & shut all doors w/ mattress over your head..the walls will be going in & out..go to the center of the home where the stable walls are..
The hallway has 2 walls w/ braces

im always afraid of those things but i realised the probability of a tornado hitting just a particular house, and thats like 1/1,000,000!
