  • Really cool plant info to let owners beware of the veggies.

    Thanks :)

  • wow

  • I have to agree with zeusgrl. This guy is just plain wierd. Think he just tries to hard. He probably chewed some of the plants before the recoroding. HEHEHE

  • Recoroding? LMAO Ya, maybe he is a little corroded after eating some of those roots LOL

  • cool help the animals

  • I think Peace Lily the only Lily not poisoness to cats, tho any Oriental, Easter Lillies can be fatal if not taken to vets immediately, after 6 hours of ingesting can limit the cats chances drastically

  • Love the ASPCA. Hope this video helps a lot of people.

  • I'd have to disagreee with him as far as the Peace Lily plant being toxic to Cats,

because I have 2 Cats that have chewed small amounts Peace Lily leaves with no side effects what so ever.

These happened to be dried out portions of the edge of the leaf, not a moist green part. They do not display an interest in any of my other houseplants, so I must conclude that maybe the Cat knows something that we don't. !

  • It's always good to know these things,

but this guy's delivery is just plain weird !

  • it's not just good .. it's imperative! if one is entrusted with the earhtly welfare of one of these aliens ..

and the gentleman's delivery is not weird (!) .. but the spelling of your name is!

    ;-)

  • Wow, you sure get the humanitarian award of the year!

  • Long live ASPCA! Long live ASPCA! I did my history report on HENRY BERGH

thanks, this means-- everything, got 48/50 and nice comments

  • A friend of mine recently passed away after an encounter with a poisonous butterfly in Costa Rica. R.I.P Shaun Graveline. 1987-2009 Click on my name to see the tribute video if you want.... :(

  • That guy has a problem with his neck. It's never straight for more than a second.

That's why you don't keep house-plants in a place where the dog or cat can eat them.

  • the chrysanthemum is my birth flower or whatever its called.

  • My names is flora D: does that means im not allowed home O.o lol XP

  • Oh wow. I didn't know that cyclamen was poisonous... And my cat quite often chews on pothos and is very alive and all energetic so far O.o Maybe it isn't affecting persians?

  • You should stop your cat from chewing the plants. Some toxins build up over time before they the affects of them become apparent.

  • -they

  • Thank you for all this information. I thought my little enclosed clip might put a light note on this serious subject. Thank you agin. Well done.

  • This is really informative. I work in the floral department of a store and this will be veru useful when customers ask me which plants to avoid if they have animals in their house. Thanks for posting this.

  • hmm

  • Wow, that was very informative. I also learned that tomatoe greens (the part on the tomatoe top that is attached to the vine, plus the vine for that matter) is highly toxic to cats and can cause kidney damage, even death. I only know this as my little Kashmir nibbled on some I had on my counter and was deathly sick for 4-5 days. Needless to say, I take all greens off my tomatoes as soon as I bring them in the house.

  • Bottom line... dont let your pet eat plants. Its better to be safe than sorry. Keep them safe, they deserve it.

  • Hmm... says the person who cant even spell "Isn't" abd "poison" right.

I hope you do know animals have a different chemical compound to humans so they will have different reactions to many different things.

  • "marijuana isent pioson dumb ass" -

Stupid people make my heart sad. Marijuana is poisonous to animals if they eat it, and no they will NOT achieve a "high". By the way, I graduated the third grade and retained my ability to spell, so I guess that makes me out rank you.

  • Have u ever heard of THC? That chemical is in marijuana and it is poisonous. Marijuana can be sold legally if all the THC is taken out of it. Oh yeah about the spelling that is "poison" not "pioson" dumb ass.

  • You're a moron. If you had read my full comment you would know that I was quoting the moron who actually wrote that and correcting them. And you are one to talk about spelling you wrote "you" as "u". And I don't care if it's abbreviation it's incorrect and it's only two letters. Seriously.

  • Well I needed more space to write my comment. Also it takes less time too.

"You" were quoting who? Or were you just saying that quote to everybody. Im confused.

  • Don't correct my spelling when you are purposely misspelling "you." And the comment that I left that reply to you should find if you scroll further along, it was to darkrubedo.

  • Ok I am sorry about that. I thought that was just you wanting to be cool. But now I see whats going on. Forgive me for what I have said. Now I mean the THC thing to darkrubedo ok. Again the spelling thing was just making the statement shorter but I just thought that was your way of spelling poison.

  • Yeah I get it. Sorry also, I've been a dorkuss.

  • "Some of my finest moments have been spent on my back veranda smoking Hemp and observing as far as the eye can see. " -Thomas Jefferson - great man, and Pothead.

  • Thank you!! I read about some of these plants, but couldn't remember everything. Now, when I need it, I can just pull this video up from my favorites! Thanks again!

  • Good video, really tells people what to watch out for. Does any of them relate to horses, poisening them? Well, I'll just look in my horse book then. My horse surely wouldn't eat any of those plants though.

  • Very useful video, especially for including what plants look like. It is particularly important to know about when you have a puppy around. Older dogs will generally be less likely to eat these.

  • I guess if you have pets, forget having plants!

  • Great info!

  • ASPCA supports ban on horse drawn carriage. contact your coucilmembers and ask them to support intro 658 to end the cruelty. please just one minute of your time

  • Hi,

My dogs are snacking on new growth Virginia Creeper leaves, not the berries. Is this harmful? Is there any research on this?

    Thank you.

    Jennydawg

  • what about gerber daisies? are they poisonous?

    Thanks for this great video!

  • I have so many of these in my yard, but so far the dogs leave them alone. But the puppy is a different story, i'll be watching. Thanks for the info.

  • Nice guys! Glad to see another great way to educate the public! Hope everyone is well back at Sunnycrest! :)

  • This is a really helpful video. I did not know Easter Lilies were poisonous to cats. This may explain some chew-marks on the leaves and an episode of vomiting...we're on our way to the vet. Many thanks.

  • Thank you so much ASPCA! This is a great educational video for pet owners and the speaker is a hottie! teehee! No really...I'm serious...I'd hit that!

  • This guy is really cheesy but its good facts.

  • Thank you so much ASPCA! I can imagine that you may be saving some pets a lot of pain!!!

  • It's really good to see what the plants look like, along with their names. Whenever I've read the plant listing before, I can't always recall what the plants look like, or if I have any of them in the yard. Now I know, AND know why my puppy was crazy when she got into the bulbs! Thanks again.

  • Thank you for this video. More people with pets in their house need to be aware of these dangers - especially since spring is coming!
