You're wasting your breath using the bible to argue your point, because atheists think the bible is a work of fiction. The bible has far too many logical and historical errors in it to prove that it's not an infallible account, and the lack of evidence for ANY supernatural event in the bible suggests it never happened.

Ridiculous. Why don't you convert to Islam or Judaism? It wouldn't make any difference. They also have books claiming "the truth". Or why not try Hinduism. They also have some ancient texts. I recommend you flip a coin. That represents best the randomness of your belief that is based on the brainwash you were given by your cultural environment.
I am an atheist but I was raised as a christian. I've heard almost every christian argument about atheism and evolution (though evolution has no direct correlation to the number of atheists). I've read scripture, but reading it wont convince anyone of anything. By doing so you're only being ignorant not only towards atheism, but to everyone who doesn't prescribe to the christian faith. Almost every religion has some sort of 'holy' text, how can you be so sure yours is right?

Also, the "play it safe" card is known as Pascal's wager and has been refuted on many levels. Just remember, if Zeus is real, all the Christians will be in Zeus's hell along with all the atheists. So, if playing it safe is the point, find the religion with the worst hell and believe that religion. Islam's hell is pretty bad. Praise Allah.
