Well i am seeing that you talk about the secret. I've read the book and saw the DVD (Portuguese version), you also say that we must be pro-active persons for the secret to work. What do you mean with pro-active, you mean search for the things you want like a mad :D? I based my theories on the secret by a belief system, like "if i believe in 15M€ seated on the coach they come to me!" do you agree with it?

Great video! Randy Pausch was SO very inspiring. I wrote an essay about him and my reaction to his speech in English because he really changed my life. I still need to go out and get his book though... and I will eventually. But I think my favorite part in his speech was when he talked about brick walls, and how they are not there to keep us out, but to keep out the people who don't want something badly enough... =)

Last night my wife sat on our bed sharing photographs with our 6 daughters.

She was showing our 3 year old a picture of me 20 some years ago to Hannah and said now, " Who is this, with the mustache " and She without hesitation said, " Grandma ".

Our 16 year old laughed for 5 minutes, you had to be there.

Randy Pausch is an example that life is good and worthy to be stored for reflections in days to come.

I've been dragging my feet on doing a book creating service. Not now.

His found his lecture to be very inspiring. Sunday morning, I watched "The Last Lecture." I found Randy Pousch inspiring. It's a little over an hour, but is well worth watching, as the 6,000,000+ viewings can atest to. He managed to get a month longer to live. Doctors told him 3-6 months. He died on July 25th, but he will never be forgotten. I loved the end when heasks "Did you catch the 2nd head fake?" He said, this video wasn't for all of you. It was for my children.

It is such a small world. Before he was at Carnegie Mellon, he was at University of Virginia. In fact, he became a prof. there just after I graduated from their undergraduate program although I was in a different field. When I went back in 1996 for my 10 year reunion, I went to the engineering school and got to see a VR demonstration. I did not know this at the time but the presenters very likely were his students. Shortly, after that he left and went to CMI.

And just last month I drove right by his new home in Chesapeake VA. Again, I did not know it at the time. Randy and I actually have a lot in common including our love of Disney and Captain Kirk among othre things. In my life I have often practiced what he preached.

ABC did an hour long show about Randy. I was was so inspired by the excerpts they shared of what he had to say, i had to get the book today. I'm glad it is in such high demand because i went to several stores that were out of stock. It created a wall, but it was nice to have to work for more of the inspiration within the pages. I was really happy to find a store on the other side of town that had 3 copies left. Probably paid alittle more but i didn't mind.
