Thanks your tabs I can play this beautiful song with my diatonic harmonica D. It's bit hard find a tin whistle here in Brazil. It's a really nice sound in my harmonica. the book lotr was good but i prefer the hobbit, you can imagine a whole movie for yourself if you are reading it there opens a whole new world where you set your steps in a story of bolbo baggings, lotr doesn't have that, you dont feel like being in another world or image a movie so i like the hobbit more than lotr (plz dont say my english ain't good cuz im just a boy of 13 from the netherlands:P)

@HemaFTW actually, Howard originally did it on a tinwhistle in Fellowship but used a Flute in Return to draw a contrast between the pre-journey innocence of the Hobbits and the lost innocence/expanded worldview/powerful experiences they share at the end of the story.

@Nemowei I just blow hard, really hard =D Up to the point where I worry for the neighbours. I'm not sure if every whistle will favor such a 3rd register. Mine also sounds squeaky that way. But it's worth a shot.

@o0dominic0o mine will, just, and its an el cheapo whistle. Oddly, a more "expensive" one I have splits in the higher registers when overblowing. One little tip (I am certainly no expert) is to change the shape of your mouth, hard to explain, but from an "o" to a "--" shape. Works for me anyway, but maybe I'm just odd!

@danboom01 i know scales :P im just learning the correct fingering for chromatic in all octaves. But i can play in the lower octaves most major scales and their modes. I have been playing music all y life though so its not to hard to apply the theory :D

The shire is real! It's in New Zealand. Maybe minus a few hobbits, some hill houses and a Gandalf, but it's there! I doubt the hobbits ever heard this music there, either... lol.
