@byGandy Yes I specified any solid color. As long as that color doesn't interfere with other colors in the shot then it should be fine. Green and Blue happen to be the best colors to use however.

to be completely invisible, when u drag on the chroma keyer, dont change anything but click "show mask only" and then play with the low threshold and high threshold until the thing you want to be invisible is totally black and everything else is white, then uncheck it when your done. it will look alot better

@ThePj5000 Be sure that the color of your cloak does not match the color of yourself or other things in the room. Adjust the chroma key settings accordingly to your video. If that doesn't work try re-shooting your video with different light. If you see I started to turn invisible in the video as well but by adjusting the color and thresholds you can fix the problem :D

@jude96 you can always try different colors as long as you try to find a color thats wont affect the video's surroundings otherwise other things in the video may disappear. but it is preferable that you use blue or green though =\

@mophed12 just play with the settings to get the right effect. plus be careful of what clothes you're wearing. if you want to use blue chroma key and you're wearing blue clothes you will also begin to disappear.

try adjusting the color. pure green works best on pure green but depending on the lighting of your shot you may have a different color. try adjusting the color as well as the thresholds and blur amount of the effect.

that might be because the colors on your video are the same colors of the chroma key that you are using. if you use blue chroma key and you are wearing blue jeans you may find your jean disappearing. actually you might find that anything of that color you used for chroma key may disappear so you have to be careful of where you shoot and what color you choose to chroma key.

I have sony vegas 8 lol im pretty sure all sony vegas's have several chroma keyer, but either way its all the same. the different colors are the same effects but preset to a specific color. :D

well chroma keying isnt necessarily for the "invisiblilty" effect. sometimes its used to make masking easier or anything else that needs to cut out certain colors.

its recommended that you use a blue or green sheet. there usually is a red tone on the skin and if you chroma key red then the person may become invisible which is not what you want for the effect. blue or green are tones not found on the body so they make the effect look better.

yeah thats one way to do it but i like to play around cuz some shades on the blanket are slightly different than other spots making the effect weird, again like i said just touch it up and fix the lighting and the effect will look great!

ps in the harry potter movies im not entirely sure how they do the effect with moving cameras. they either record the camera movements twice before and after the character appears or they used a giant green/blue screen OR they just are amazing at effects :D

Ever Heard Of Masking? Thats What i did it works realy well but it takes longer but you get a better effect

Yes, I do know what masking is. This process of using chroma keying is the simplest way of doing the effect. Making would be a good idea but its pretty difficult to make the mask follow a blanket in such a long time frame. With chroma keying you can have this effect done professionally within a few minutes. Masking could lead to random cuts on the screen if you're not careful. lol Thanks for the comment. :D

Also it doesn't have to be pure blue or green it can be any color as long as it's only that color. Blue and Green are just easier becuase sony vegas has them built in, but you can change the color that is supposed to be chroma keyed out.

not really. blue and green are preferred because those are colors are not common tones in most objects. if you used a red blanket for example, you yourself, will also turn invisible because skin consist of red tones. even if you do change the color of the blanket, that would require several unnecessary steps for this simple effect.

if you watched my video i had the same problem. you'll just have to play around with the effect to get the right thing. if that doesnt work then i reccomend re-recording the shot with different lighting. it could also be because of the lighting on yourself from the blue or green blanket you used.
