@TheDudeFrom0Z Well, no. Tommy Emmanuel is WAY inferior to DD. He's got a lot of humor in his playing, which is great, but Dykes can do everything Tommy Emmanuel does and more. Tommy, while being an amazing guitar player, can only dream of playing like this.

Comparing tommy emmanuel and doyle is pretty stupid there both amazing players, and they probably can both do things better than one another, but tommy is amazing at not only the acoustic but electric and uke as well.making tommy the overall better player.

@TheDudeFrom0Z First of all, I agree that comparing them is pretty stupid, but you were the one who said TE is way better. Second, awards and popularity mean nothing. Guthrie Govan and Greg Howe are way better than Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, for example, and yet the latter two are more popular. Tommy Emmanuel is amazing and his playing is perhaps more accessible, but objectively DD is better. The test is whether one can do what the other does. DD can do everything TE does and more. Tommy can't.

Oh my, hoosiers step aside, THE REAL THING IS HERE NOW. No more of this hit and miss nonsense. This boy is just beyond unbelievable. This is what you call: making the guitar talk. I would think that some guitar players seeing this display will afterwards just go lock their guitar away, and go hide some where for a while for acting the fool in the first place, thinking they were a guitar player, and trying to convince others they were too.  He is truly the real thing. JUST UNBELIEVABLE.

Tommy is a better entertainer but Doyle is the better player technically. He's got cleaner picking, bass lines, and is an overall tighter player.

@skeetv123 You've got to be kidding me. Tommy is as clean as it gets, hell he's probably as clean as Chet, and that's nearly impossible. He also has way more technical ability. I Thoroughly enjoy Doyle as well, but he's a bit too over zealous with the whole preaching thing.

@skeetv123 Tommy detaches himself from his great playing while connecting to the people so that they see its not all so serious and make them feel comfortable. Doyle just looks intense most of the time lol Doyle uses that classical fingerstyle with a nashville twist while Tommy jams more bass lines to add emphasis on his musical arrangements. When Tommy is unsure while playing with others greats he tends to gravitate to gypsy style leads. Tommy can play great percussion though to!
