If you break it down to the community level, then what is to stop a larger, aggressive body from taking your land away from you? There are pros and cons to everything. If you limit secession to the state level, I would agree that it's better than the federal level but it's still vulnerable to foreign influences. Look at the example set by Caesar. He would conquer one tribe (state) of men at a time. By the time the rest united under one leader, it was too late. They were too weak. I think that the states would stay the same way. Each state was meant to be inherently its own sovereign nation that merely takes part in a written agreement to be part of the u.s.

Also, if the NWO wants to take America out of the picture, they can do it in two ways imo: First is what they're doing right now, a takeover using our own system. However, if the states do secede and the corruption is eliminated/contained, then they can organize a physical takeover of the states, or at least a portion of them.
