If the leaders of the nations of the world wish to kill, they should be the ones that pick up the weapons and kill and maim each other. When will they stop using their citizens for political fodder? Probably never :(
I speak as a citizen of the USA, VietNam veteran, widow of a Vietnam veteran and mother of a current soldier on his way back to Hell!
That's such a sad song. I dare not to listen the 2nd times. I don't want to cry (again). Thank you for posting. Hope US troops will soon be pulled out of Iraq, and war will end.
hahahhaa! the US government didn't made a mistake when they decided to help the south vietnam government to defense against the ruless communist force try to take over the country, and last time i check we are wining the war in iraq. I am a vietnamese and also a iraqi vet
The Vietnamese declared independence peacefully and asked the US to recognize it. They said no, and helped the French reconquer the area. If I were Ho Chi Minh I would go communist because the people who fought tyranny and the people you asked for help invaded. Plus I don't mean to sound like an ass, but the politicians don;t give a fuck about anyone but themselves, that includes the people who died in the wars they created.
You are too young to witness the VN war, the war was a US attempt to replace French colonialism, take it from me, I am French born in VN & know my history.
PS: by the way, how can the US wins in Iraq now Iraq has a SHIITE govt like the Islamic Republic of Iran? all you replaced Saddam Hussein for the pro-Iranian Ayatollahs in Iraq.
Not to mention that after nearly a trillion dollars spent, Bin Laden is still enjoying life, idiots are still trying to blow up planes, the only winners are plutocrats.
Although the presentation wasn't really my style (echoes of Bob Dylan, and he's a hard act to follow), its a very touching song connecting generations of American history..
wow, really great. thanks for sending it to me. neil young is looking for war protest songs, he linked to my song "blood for oil." he will love your song.
Thanks so much for posting this great vid as a video response to my "Execution Row (Postcards of the Hanging)" vid. I think it's most appropriate and I am proud to have it as a response. --Jan
Yea,the video is powerful, the music and your voice work well and thanks for listening to "I Can't Take Them Anymore" -- somehow we have to find a way to focus the attention of the US people on this atrocity and the moral responsibility we all have to speak out and stop the savage acts of our government.
Great song and video greyamw!! Well Done!! Have you considered submitting this to Neil Young's "Living With War Today" website? I submitted the one I created that you commented on. But this is an original song that would do justice to Neil's site. 5 stars and faved! Peace-Ted
Bless our soldiers olivier01234 the war is not useless.Look at the stats only 36 soldiers died this month.Thats down from 68 the month before and 80 before that. Also the civilian deaths have been cut in half from over 1,500 every month to 600.
I'm doing research on whether Vietnam veterans see similarities between the Vietnam War and Iraq War. Could I ask you a few questions?

Your profile says you are 34 years old - it would have been tough for you to be a Vietnam Vet - is this an untruthful post?
greyamw 2 years ago
The post is not false; the age is.
After viewing the video, I was compelled to post what I did and was not trying to mislead anyone. The stats about me are irrelevant

OK - thanks!

EXACTLY!
If they want to lead us into war then they should do exactly that or pipe down and get back to their job.
