@XEXLAB you dont want a blow off valve on a big turbo. the BOV will release all of the pressure built up and then the engine has to work hard to spool it up again (since its a big turbo) , what you do is take the BOV off and let the turbo SURGE (not flutter , 2 different things ;) ) that then makes the turbo obtain most of its pressure so when you hit second gear for example (or any other gear) the turbo is spinning at a higher rate therefore the engine has less work to spool it up again :)

@drakedriftingco most likely either the air intake for the turbo or the outer portion of the turbo itself taking in air for compression. the exhaust is usually piped to the back in these cars, although some people have had their exhausts exit from the fender area and back. There is a nice s2000 vid with side exhaust off the front fender.

haha, wrong. that pipe where the "smoke is coming from" is the intake to the turbo. air is coming back out of the compressor housing due to surge which is also that repetitive sound you hear because the bov is most likely tightened down to open up only at higher boost levels (drag cars usually do this so not to lose all the pressure between shifts)

The MKIV is a very amazing car, with an amazing engine. I'll admit that any day. But I think the LS1 is just as amazing if not more. It too can take 600 all day on stock internals, running moderate boost, 10psi. With forged pistons, it can take 1000 on stock crank and rods. The displacement of an engine, and the hp output is directly related to the amount of wear done to the engine. The LS1 or any 3rd gen smallblock producing the same power as a 2JZ will last longer.
