Charlier Cut Tutorial

@ImproveYourMagic Moving the bottom packet pulls the bottom card or two of the top packet making a block and stopping the bottom packet from moving to the top. Got any tips for how to stop that? I cant seem to move the packet low enough to actually clear the packet entirely.

very helpful i got it on my second or third try. Bu ti am experienced with sleight of hand i still had never done this cut. Now i find it to be pretty easy. The thing that helped my success was to make sure my pointer finger caught the edge when it is pushing the cards. Thanks for this.

hey man great videos i just found though that with this for me it is easier to leave my pinky out of the equation because it tends to knock the deck around a bit making it unbalanced and when i go to raise the bottem to the top it always fell to the floor

I think my hands are too small, I can't fully raise the cards and still hang on to the top layer. What do I do?

To know if hands are too small to perform this cut 'easily' is: if the upper packet is automaticlly pushed off of your thumb the moment the index begins to push the lower packet up, as at the 2:29 mark.

Please notice that this happens to me at the 2:34 mark. Watch how the upper packet leaves my thumb tip. I compensate for this by bringing the upper packet horizontal to prevent falling. So I think that even smaller hands can do the cut this way, but may have to do it swiftly during 2nd phase : )

On the 1:35, the cut, when I use two hands it's way easier..but I can't do it with one hand the top deck falls..

my hands are small but i figured out how to do it by putting my little finger on the corner instead of the side and doing the cut vertically to give room so i dont think you can have such small hands that its impossible, mine are tiny.
