Girl thank u for this video it shows he means everything to us. Beka teleyayen is my favorite song i hear it every other day but i have not heard it since the day he passed only today i went to hear his voice again i couldn't finish hearing it emotions took over and saw ur response to the video. This is nice that u did this. God bless u! Let god heal our broken hearts over his loss.
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching it.. I know it was LONG! But u know when you are moved by something like this, you are motivated to do something to make your people " cheer up" u know. I want people to celebrate him because I know how devastating this week has really been for all of us. It felt like this week was in a litteral " pause".. frozen in time. All I could think was Tileye. I love that song.. HIS VERSION. lol.
YES!!! Amen! Gashe Tilahun is so much apart of our culture, our ager fiker, so much of it was inspired by the legend. He will always be apart of us. .. it has been like 2 days now, and I still CAN'T believe it. ...Just devastating.
Winet new! Gash Tilahun's legacy will forever be with us. Even as an habesha raised in the US, I know and love Tilahun Gessesse's music. I've been so exposed and immersed in his music through my whole childhood. I had the pleasure of meeting him in his home in DC a few years ago because my father knew him back in the day. Meeting an Ethiopian legend like him is a memory I'll keep with me for years. But it was a shame to hear how many of the people that were with him in his hey day have left him.
I was born and raised here too! I know exactly what u mean. I feel the same way.
Thats so cool that you knew him! My mom knew him as well and she was very sad to hear of his passing, but at the same time she knows he would have wanted to die in his country surrounded by his family. She describes him as someone who TRULY lived life to the fullest. it's reassuring to hear such things, but it doesn't make us miss him less : (
.. I think he really appreciated ppl like us who stayed loyal 2 him!!!
Thanks so much! .. I know, you were close to Tilahun. I'm still in shock too, even though I didn't know him, my mom has always told me stories of how nice he was to her and her friends. I wish I had gotten to know him, but I feel like I know him through his music.
greatly missed but will never be forgotten.
