@DareUtoLoveMusicMore That is because I've reduced the video quality but not the sound quality. I want the videos to load fast for people with slow connections.
@ogigia100 ??? if you mean that you don't like his interpretation, don't say "orrible" but simply say "I don't like it, 'cause I prefer....". Can you play like Rubinstein? I dare to say the answer is no. Neither I like Rubinstein's interpretation best, though my teacher says it's the best...I prefer Arrau and Ashkenazy, or Pollini.
how is it that every time i come to arthur rubinstein for a chopin performance, after listening to a million great p[ianists, still feel "this is the best of all of them" ????
@alexjrmarino i'm talking for myself.. not on an absolute level... the feeling that I expect from a piece is given by this.. Although I respect other points of view also...I like Ashkenazy, Pollini and Starkman for this piece but none greater than Arthur, again personally...
At 0:13 (4th measure) Rubinstein doesn't play a C: instead of C-D-C-B-C he plays C-D-B-C (right hand); so he plays 21 notes instead of 22. It is his own interpretation, because it doesn't exist in any edition I looked at. And I like this way more than that Chopin wrote.
nice hearing that you figured that out! It is Rubinstein so a mistake is very hard to think off but than again I can't imagining him changing the notes...
@RemovdSande11 allthough chopin's nocturnes let you do so many things in it. if you wan't you can go listen to my cover of op9nr2. you'll hear i added quite some things into it. you will not neccesarlly like it, but i love it the way i play it. however, it may be a mistake, he may have changed it, it's still perfect.
@llethaface11 what ever, dude. everyone has it's own interpretation. as long as you won't flame me, i don't give a flying fuck what you think about it. i got enough positive feedback for it anyways.
i have to play htis for my exam, and its weird cos every time i listen to this piece i just zone out and 'wake up' half way and zone out again so it realy hard for me to listen to key techniques
Maria Joao Pires rules in this Nocturne. Successful performances of Chopin's Nocturnes have eluded even many great pianists; what is essential for a successful performance is an execution of a seamless, singing line coupled with rubato floating above a rock solid steady bass line, as in Italian Bel Canto opera. After all, Bellini was the inspiration here.
A peace and calm envelope my spirit as I listen to him play this Nocturne. A.Rubinstein is the only one who has ever captured the spirit of Chopin, truly captured the message. Filling my soul for 4 decades. Mmmmmmmm
rubinstein has much more mystery... such beautiful mistery .. horowitz has far less of this of this feature.. but he has something better sinserity; .. which is worth more then anyone will ever know .. and who knows this knows its true
I too am a mysterious interpreter of Chopin - I used to come on stage in my cloak and horned helmet, darting, elusive - distinctly upper class. There would be gasps and cries from the audience... then
---silently enjoying the sheer beauty of this piece i now have a burning desire to learn...-----

@ArRubMusic The thing is that Youtube lowers the sound quality too if the resolution of the video is low.

@satyu131089 ever heard of cortot? There is no such thing as best, Arthur himself said that art can't be best or worst, just different..
