@WazzooSam This style is known as Fusion. It's a combination of Jazz and Rock. Try Miles Davis (60s-80s), Mike Stern, Stanley Clarke, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Jaco Pastorius, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, some of Jeff Beck's stuff like Freeway Jam, some Steely Dan, Yellowjackets, Billy Cobham, George Duke, early David Sanborn, early Marcus Miller (especially with Miles Davis)
Had the priviledge to see chicko at L.A's music center a while back ago in some of the first RTF reunions Flora and Gale where exquisite to say the least and it is just incredible to see how they pushed the envelope of talent, expression and improvization to the max!
good looking out...i just heard this song last night and i fucken loved it...and now im playing it lol... lil hard to comp and solo over these changes at this speed...but it is hell of fun!
Most likely a Selmer mark VI - but according to his Wikipedia page he also has a Yamaha Custom Z. I thought it was a Selmer _before_ I looked it up, and it's the preferred old school brand. You certainly couldn't tell for sure from this video.
wow... Patitucci... that's fast... in my opinion... develop that speed in the bass or guitar is harder than develop that in a instrument like keyboards... so ... ur awesome!
LOL hahahah what jordan rudess got to do with chick corea? jordan isnt a jazz man....you are not a jazz player if you can play some jazz tune or line or whatever...jazz is a way of thinking..like chick corea, frank gambale, george benson, wes montgomary, allan holdsworth, brett garsed, shawn lane, john patituci and on and on.....not some dream theater noob
no jordan cant improvise over Chick's harmony....i am 100% sure!!do you know how hard his harmony is there its 1 milion key changes in all diffrent modes..its crazy!!!
@fredbass77 sorry bro im not from gringolandia i mean im not north american english its a foreing lenguage for me and i hear to so many musicians that i dont have all the names right on my head i just listen to their art and try to play it and learn from it your coment its a little cocky for the way you say it! being humble its what makes good musicians ask patitucci he is humble!
@brooklyn358 Michael Tsarion is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Dr. Bill DEagle, Jordan Maxwell, Leo Zagami and Alexandre Dumas pere are highly informative as well. p.s. Melting Euphoria is similar to Ozric Tentacles and Gong.
@brooklyn358 YES IT S REALLY TRUE BUT I DON T LIKE COMPARISON, all musicians have his style to playing and all style of playing is different, but he still amazing in this domain of course

i think if chick corea got to play jazz with rudess it would work out
Rudess knows lots of theory and is very skilled with the keytar,or zen riffer.
but the downside would be jordan would just shred and play with no feeling :(
rantarave 3 years ago

petar870602 3 years ago
hahaha ur damn right...There is no doubt Jordan Rudess is an amazing keyboardist, but he is no match for Chick Corea.
Corea's title for this song - 'Got a match' kind of tells you that!!! hahah
Corea is in a different league all together.
Both are good in their own respects. I listen to a lot of both of them.
