The host in a game has nothing to do with if you are party leader or not. It's usually the one with best connection. Being party leader doesn't make you host. Host gets slight benefits in the game... and helps you use equipment and weapons more effectively, and damage. Again, this is only slight. But you're thinking PARTY LEADER. Two different things.

I equipment jump a lot.. in custom, in matchmaking... every time I try to jump with a Spartan, I fall through and take damage from the power drain. As an Elite, I jump off of it and land safely outside of it's range. Empirical evidence says otherwise.

go to custom games, get a power drainer, and try it. the spartan will not jump, and get hit by the power drainer (barely), whereas the elite will jump, and land safely outside of the drainer's effects.. I don't try to equip jump in matchmaking, but I think it might be patched (I'll try next time I play)

HERES A FEW THINGS U HAVE TO KNOW: When host and elite, you can only use power drain to equip jump, some other things might work but as an elite your limited. when host as spartan, you can do all of these except power drain, because with host messes up the timing. when elite and not host, u can do a lot more. when spartan and not host you CAN do EVERYTHING but for trip mine jumping, you CANNOT be host
