  • rip dusty x

  • female singer is Dusty Springfield, who was a star already in 1961-62 period, and more so in the mid and late 1960´s; this single marked a kind of comeback to her; she died in 1999.

  • the tune ? what can u ask 4 ? still great...

  • I WAS BORN IN 1990 (SEPTEMBER) AND I LOVE THIS KIND OF MUSIC SO MUCH!I I FEEL SILLY MY FRIENDS DONT LIKE IT AT ALL....

  • GREAT SONG!

  • I wish O could send this to every ex girlfriend I have ever had and then kill myself to spite them.

  • Dusty had more soul than four Beyonces.

  • @enisorian Beyoncé has a soul? Doesn´t it depend on how much money she makes

  • Dusty Springfield

  • I...LOVE...THIS...SONG!!!

  • love this tune rip dusty whaT A LADY SHE WAS

  • nice song and music

  • One of my all time favorite 80s song. Dusty Springfield's voice definitely made the song a hit. R.I.P. Dusty Springfield. We've lost pure talent.

  • Dusty angel's voice ...

  • La voz de Dusty Springfield impresionante!!!!!

  • how am i gonna get through

  • GORGEOUS TUNE!

  • "... they talk too fast and walk too slow..."

  • AL IGUAL QUE A TODAS USTEDES A MI TAMBIEN ME GUSTA EL LOLY, SALUDOS A TODAS!!!

  • Two decades and a handful of years later, this song still stands tall as a perfectly crafted pop song. The timeless electropop of PSB, and the incomparable voice of a certain Dusty Springfield, together, were simply magic. It does not get much better than this, guys and gals.

  • great song great band great guest star great video clip : )

  • one very,very sexy woman!!!!!

  • I wish all songs on youtube could have in description their release year. This is back in 1987 - an excelent year in music !

  • Cracking song proper 80s style , what is the name of the showgirl wearing glasses in this called? please & has she been in any films.

  • Thumbs up if your high school memories brought you here.

  • @Hereismytwocents2011

I was born in 1967. Grew up in the 70's and mainly 80's. Good times they were. Damn now I'm having my midlife crisis (hahaha) and listening more and more good old music again. But then again what's old? The devil? Take care and enjoy music to the max!

  • @wiebe2009 I agree with you... I was born in 1969 n still expecting the same songs of 80s to be played again n again ...

  • @Hereismytwocents2011 2 thumbs up 4 sure :-)

  • Totally awesome song from a totally awesome decade !!! 80's rocked it baby. Love Dusty and the boys !

  • I love the Pet Shop Boys but Dusty makes this song.

  • Pure 80s zeitgeist. I don't understand why dusty is now playing the part of Phil Mitchell's girlfiriend in Eastenders though.

  • I wish I would have grown up in the 80's. I was born in 86. The music now a days sucks ass!!

  • @Immortalfilth why is it so important to have grown up during the era of this music? you still can listen to it, can't you?

  • @Immortalfilth Was a nice era indeed for music. Heh, cassette tapes were in back then! I accumulated a lot of music thru that Columbia House gig--12 cassette tapes or CD's for one penny!

  • @MysteryMan20091 I remember the Columbia House thing. LOL! I remember trying to get my parents to do that for me, but they never did. I still have an entire box of cassettes. Even ones that I recorded off the radio. They use to have a 80's thing every Friday morning on the radio and I would get up early just to listen to that and record songs before I went to school. The good ole days.

  • @Immortalfilth or waiting up til 2AM to listen to New Wave music shows on CBC radio. Now, youtube gives you everything on a platter!

  • @Immortalfilth

Well, I can say I wish I had your youth. I went through my teens in the 80's. I wish I could go back. The music was a huge part of that decade for me. I listen to this stuff and it wisks me away, takes me to a time when my life was still ahead of me.

  • @Immortalfilth I was born in 86, too and I feel it the same way ;)

  • @Immortalfilth I was around in the 80's..wasnt so great..I wish Id grown up in the 60's. Funny how older eras always seem so wonderful.

  • @MPL029 I grew up in the 1980s, and I liked it many ways, but not my family situation. I loved the music of the 1980s. I am not dogging the 1960s. I listened to a lot of 1960s music before. I don't so much anymore.

  • @QUINTUSMAXIMUS I think everyone looks back on past generation's music as superior to current music.

  • this song is nice..the girl at 2:48 is really pretty. her eyes are like so hazel lol

  • All rise for the Friend zoned National Anthem

  • gosto

  • I thought this video was brilliant. I love the guys intheir dinner suits.the whole video was brilliantly

produced I love also the female dancers. The whole thing is first class. Aclassy Act.Thankyou.

  • What have you done to deserve this?.... come on... we want to know!! :D The Pet Shop Boys rule!!

  • neil is not who dancing , is chris

i think the idea of the video is that Chris is a musician who really wants to be a dancer, so at star of the video chris is with a sad face, and the scene in the backstage he dances because that is his true passion

  • @alexayora Chris is always sour and sad; it is his stage posture and that's why we love him so much:)

  • @harisbaki hehehe, its true, and i knwo, but in the vidoe it do emphasis in that

  • Actually I LOVE this...Go Philip...Mmmmmwwwwaaaahhhhhhhh

  • @AmyLamour Who is Philip???

  • I like this video and the dancers feathers. It's a real neat video clip.

  • This truly is the best song ever written and sung. amazing. Neil Tennant obviously isn't the best singer in the world, but the way his voice mixes with the fabulous Dusty Springfield's is magnificent. And this is coming from a young man who is, according to his age, supposed to love Pitbull, or Justin Bieber.

  • brilliant Dusty with her husky vocals.

  • The vocal pairing of Neil Tennant and Dusty Springfield is arguably the best in pop music history.

  • I pity the 39 dislikes. Are they deaf?

  • 39 deserebrados dijeron no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! esta padrisima esta cancion

  • The whole video is so awesome. But VEVO's logo from the bottom of the screen ruins everything. It's so annoying.

  • Too bad when Dusty died almost everyone says that her induction to the R&R Museum was because of her death. She was nominated and elected before her death. It wan just not know

by the general public until after her death announcement. Great voice.

  • Hit #1 on the Cashbox pop chart for 1 week in Feb 1988

  • Miss you Dusty and your velvety sound...RIP.

  • Poor Dusty... RIP

  • Love dusty hard to believe she gone now...

  • doesn't get any better !

  • You always wanted a lover I only wanted a job. I've always worked for a living. How am I gonna get through?

How am I gonna get through?

  • Now you've left me with nothing. (Can't take it.) How am I gonna get through? How am I gonna get through?

  • I brought you drinks, I brought you flowers, I read your books and talked for hours ev'ry day.

So many drinks, such pretty flow'rs, so tell me. What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this? What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?

  • What have I, what have I, what have I Since you went away. I've been hanging around. I've been wondering why I'm feeling down. You went away. It should make me feel better But I don't know

  • (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) How I'm gonna get through, how I'm gonna get through. (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) How I'm gonna get through, how I'm gonna get through. (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) How I'm gonna get through, how I'm gonna get through. Gonna get through. (Gonna get through.)

  • You always wanted a lover I only wanted a job. Now I can do what I want to forever. How am I gonna get through? How am I gonna get through?

  • At night the people come and go, they talk to fast and walk to slow Chasing time from hour to hour, I pour the drinks and crush the flowers. What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this? What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?

  • (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) How I'm gonna get through, how I'm gonna get through. (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) How I'm gonna get through, how I'm gonna get through. (What have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?) How I'm gonna get through, how I'm gonna get through. Gonna get through. (Gonna get through.)

  • 0:01 - Illuminati All-Seeing Eye. You have been warned.

  • From like '79 to like '83 was the BEST MUSIC ERA EVER

  • I got this CD as a youth. To this day I ask "What have I what have I what have I done to deserve this?"

  • Dusty Springfield blows me away, her voice is perfection in this song.

  • I miss Jack FM.

  • sorry to post..me mam was told octber 2009 she was all clear after breast cancer...come december 17th 2009 she died of metastic cancer(blood, liver, bones) this song says it all to me...she was a star till the end(died 6 days after going in to hospital not knowing it had spread) what has she done to deserve this!!! god bless

  • were neil and chris a couple?

  • @ANTHONYRW619 nah. although it has been speculated in the past. as far as I know chris has never publicly revealed whether he's gay or not. to be honest though, sexuality isn't really important for these guys because they make such fantastic music.

  • <3 beyond words

  • hahaha... reminds me of the good old days ;)

  • All the girls in this video are beautiful, but the one with the thick glasses in my opinion is the most gorgeous, every time i watch the video i can't stop looking at her, i wish i had a picture of her

  • @amarlon56 yeah i know what your saying does anybody know her name

  • the whole video is so great . But the part (2:18) When Neil talks rather than singing and in the video he dances with the video in slow motion...that part always catches my attention. It's just so unique!

  • @Daniel42Monteiro isnt that chris that dances? gawd he was sooo hot!!!

  • @Daniel42Monteiro I love that part

  • the dude that just stands there in the video always looks depressed

  • A true classic, R.I.P Dusty.

  • no offense but dusty looks so high in this video....did they even try to have her fit the motif or let her do her own thing ?

  • Ah, Dusty Springfield, wow you were the best.

  • I first saw this video on nbc at the end of an episode of Entertainment Tonight...... yeah I'm middle aged.

  • Dusty on the coda blows me away! The hand movements and all!

  • Mrrastamandan2...ur a idiot, not to mention disrespectful. U have any idea who that woman is? Quite possibly one of the most influential women in rock history..she brought the motown sound global and also was one of the main causes for the discovery of Led Zepellin. She was the top woman in music in the late 60's and early 70's. Show some respect. She died shorlty after this video of breast cancer. Young punks likes u think music began with snoop or Lil Wayne. Moron.

  • Worse...ur 38...not a young punk, just disprespectful.

  • @henryjax Two words: Diana Ross.

  • @henryjax ...you said it man, young turd lovers with their biebers and selena gomez loving asses don't have a clue what influence dusty had in music...feel sorry for them because they call them selfs fans of music and don't even bother to study it's history. for example i'm an 80's kid and before i opened my big mouth i learned of such influences of artists like chuck berry, little richard, the beatles, elvis and the stones among others had on my back in the day artists.

  • @henryjax Not shortly after- I mean this single was released in 1987 and Dusty died in 1999. God bless the Boys, thanks to them, she spent her last years under glorious spotlights with her loving fans and enough money to do whatever she wanted instead of going back to the addiction days...

  • i agree with the rest of ya'll, this song is the best

  • no doubt, this is one of my favorite!

  • Shirley from Eastenders is a pretty good singer!

  • Heard this song on the radio this weekend past and had no idea Dusty Springfield was a part of this. She had such an amazing voice!

  • Dusty

  • it's brilliant that this song is still getting comments....I love this song....and even more than my love for this song, I really love Chris Lowe's dancing

  • fab this

  • Heard this song in a store was thinking bout it all day, so i had to hear it again brings back child hood memories.

  • I'm black and i love this song! R.I.P. Dusty springfield!

  • this girl has brought immense wealth to this song.

  • I seriously can never hear this enough. Love it. <3

  • The whole video is so beatiful. But he part (2:49) where the black (or mixed) chick makes her entrance always gets me. That girl was classy and absolutely gorgeous

  • @jaruca2007 She was so pretty. she was like, "mm hm, I'ma get mine"

  • @weirdscience85 WE MAY HAD GOT BUZZ OUT TOGETHER KROQ 106.7 FM PASADENA CA .

  • perhaps their finest moment. After all Dusty is royalty.

  • @The096757 reply to the wrong person much?

  • Neil,Chris and the late Dusty its a classic

  • this was such a great song they should have done a follow up. i think it was early Spring 1988 when i first heard this. loved it ever since. brings back memories of a time that could have been better spent enjoying the things that would pass that could never be recaptured again

  • i fucking hate vevo adverts i hate fucking adverts

  • Dusty Springfield!!! a Legend, wish she was still here.

  • I liked this during the '80's and being anorexic from being involved recreational watersports.

  • The best of Pet Shop Boys is the best of pop.

  • perfect intro

  • if i came for pet shop boys what makes them thik id be interested in Kelly clarkson?

  • i wish dusty was stil here

  • Can we not have Nicki Minaj or any of these stupid, talentless Disney stars on the side of a Pet Shop Boys video? It's ridiculous.. I'm trying to listen to some real music here.. Nicki Minaj can FO!

  • hey look its Rod Stewart!

  • @MrRastaManDan hahahaha....that was good.

  • @MrRastaManDan

    She's Dusty Springfield, gunt !

  • @MrRastaManDan lol a female version of Rod Stewart :D

  • @MrRastaManDan I'd do her. Gilf!

  • 0:01 - Illuminati All Seeing Eye.

  • @Cascarino33 Oh Yeah

  • Yeah :)

  • BRILLIANT!

  • they should have made a song with petula clark around the same time when euro pop and europ dance was awesome music. this sounded great the 1st time i heard this early 1988 and it still sounds really good.

  • One of the greatest bands in the history of pop music. This is art,as anyone familiar with their work will testify. It was a stroke of genius to work with the incomparable Dusty Springfield whose voice is incredible. They performed this at the BRIT awards 1988 which is on a recent cd/dvd PSB best of-well worth seeing.

Songs like Rent, Always on my Mind and Suburbia are classics for all time. I can listen to this band for hours.

  • Ah, this song takes me right back to wonderful childhood - please someone invent a time machine and transport me back to the 80's!

  • Lord Please, Send me Back to the 80,I can not understand this era of 2011

every day I'm dying Lord, Please have a mercy of my soul God,

the 80' for me was a great, the music was great , fashion, the environment, etc

now Now everything is horrible, please have a mercy of me Lord

  • @MrJimmypage32 Something I read 20 years ago Look back, don't stare. Be here now.

  • Has anyone heard justin biebers new christmas album???????

  • who als have trouble with vevo! :@

  • doesn't dusty look like shirley from eastenders

  • doesn't dusty look like shirley from eastender

  • Anybody else think Neil looks a bit like Jeremy Clarkson lol

  • When watching these videos from my childhood i will often feel my brain actually feel like that little kid again who was watching this at some particular moment in time. And always only for a split second. But god what a wonderful feeling.

  • Brilliant 80's pop. How cool to bring Dusty in to do this song with her soulful, sultry voice. This song has such great hooks, and they get set right from the start.

  • she's liz macdonald from coronation street

  • If possibly you could block the experience with more ads, if only. You have shown me how not to do it. whatever.

  • RIP Dusty Springfield (1939-1999).

  • It's funny, but any eighties songs I right click on, have nothing but positive comments, is it any wonder why the eighties is referred to as the best music of all time!

  • @kooldarrin you are 100% right about that. Even though I grew up back in El Salvador listening to these fine tunes thru radio stations, I am still stuck in the 80's

  • I like so much of this music and the video too!!

  • This song/video is 80's collaborative perfection. Pet Shop Boys + Dusty Springfield = Pop Brilliance.

  • @LeftCoastBias44 Yes, agree 100 percent with you. This song and video, I feel, definitely exemplified Rock and Roll for the 1980's. And Dusty's vocals, positively heavenly!!!!!!
