@mespasticpunk Actually, if you know what you're doing with the controls, the Icom 706 line is among the top end for recievers.

@Binky40SW Really Icom Engineers don't think so and never have ever considered it a top receiver. It "may" top your old one but it lacks in many areas including Rejection and S-to-N numbers to name a few. It is also overly open in the hf bands (Deaf on 2meters Like the TS-2000) and it was designed and modeled to be used with shortened antennas and a full size antenna only makes the inherit flaws worse. It's a great Beginners rig but for a little more money you could have a MUCH better receiver!

@Binky40SW I have the Rig and Side by side comparison to most other rigs shows it's shortcomings. It was great for it's time but you can get much better for cheaper. Facts are not for geniuses only the rational minded your obviously a religious person because you think something is so therefore you have all the truth you can accept despite scientific FACTS and data. Just say you like it despite it's many flaws.... But It is like God to you it has none...

The one that's singing and maybe the one saying "Yoowho...Youwho..." I don't know if it's the same guy or not, but we have someone that's either in the Merrill, WI, or Wausau, WI area, that we call Mr. Wonderful, and in his case, I'm too far away from him to hear him "Ground-Wave," but I'm too close to him to hear him on any of the "skip bounces" so to speak. I guess I'm lucky. Here, Mr. Lucky is a Ham Radio Operator (Con't)

(Con't) and the reason why I don't know which place he's located is that there are two guys, 1 in the Merrill, WI area, and 1 in the Wausau, WI area, both are Amateur Radio operators, and both guys "harrass" truck drivers, but I think they behave on Ham Radio, so my guess is they're bored and/or frustrated, as truck drivers gave them a hard time over the air, because they were chatting between themselves, so they became mad at the truckers, so they harrass the truckers and fool around on 38 LSB.
