  • Goal of stretching before a workout is to warm up and static stretching fails to do that. This is why Dynamic stretching is used before the workout and static is used post-workout in order to calm and relax your muscle so it can begin the regeneration of the muscle fibers.

  • Black man. White shoes.

  • run nigga run

  • It all depends on the person. Not everyone body reacts the same, some react better with stretching some react better if they don't. As far as stretching weakening the muscle is full of crap. To build muscle you want to tear it and rest to let it heal this is what make muscles grow. When stretching you stretch the muscle which is why you feel weaker but its because you have already started to tear or stretch the muscle not because it makes you weaker.

  • you only did 9 up-downs...

    CHEATER!

  • gud1

  • It's not hard to say which stretching is better. Ofc, its dynamic streching for warm up, bcs there is no inhibition which will make your muscle weaker for maximal explosive movements. Static streching is always good option in the end of your training session, bcs inhibition have better effect on increasing your flexibility. So, both types are great, but if you choose perfect timing for it.

  • Forgot to say, scientists are not pretty sure does pre-work out streching have any relation with prevention of injuries. Thats just guess.

  • well this is guy is running with his hands closed which is wastinge extra energy for nothing. you should run with your palms open. anyway im too lazy to do this

  • your fucking stupid

  • lol the reason your so tired is because of how much muscele you have

  • From personal experience, since dynamic stretching has been introduced to me... I can honestly say that the likeliness of me pulling a "hammy" is much more reduced (before I would static stretch). However, if this is working for you brotha, then keep doing what you're doing! Thx for the motivation and workout format non the less.

  • Static stretching before workout is pointless. It reduces muscles power and increases the risk of injury. Before workour = Dynamic stretching ; After workout = static stretching.

  • Two words. Dynamic Stretching. Simple no injury and no neuromuscular inhibitor response.

  • so many people are sooo sure of themselves with these comments, you guys would have been ripped to shreds in the training/development courses ive attended. a well rounded athlete/coach/trainer is open minded to ALL veiws and opinions of training.

  • he sounds white

  • BUDDY J888HNT GET YOUR SHIT STRAIGHT, U DONT STRECH UR GOING TO PULL SOMETHING SOONER OR LATER AND ITS NOT A NICE FEELING STOP ARGUING smh..

  • Dynamic stretching solves this issue.

  • owww... shit tih is fuckn vid

  • Dude what's up with those stretches before the sprints?!? That is just sooooo old school.

  • bra you fast...i timed you at a 3.90 with my stop watch on my phone

  • @MATT111MARTIN Buerrrrrr............how could his time be 3.90 when the video is 3 mins and 33 secs. yur boosting. his time is way faster then tht

  • @MrCjayBoii dam you dumb as fuc this video is 3:33 minutes and he ran 3.90 secs......the vid is 3 minutes not 3 secs

  • “There is a neuromuscular inhibitory response to static stretching,” says Malachy McHugh, the director of research at the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. The straining muscle becomes less responsive and stays weakened for up to 30 minutes after stretching, which is not how an athlete wants to begin a workout.

  • @J888HNT Yea it will be weaker...but when you don't stretch you are more prone to injury. I would rather my muscles be a tiny bit weaker rather than to pull them then not be able to workout at all....

  • @arj3191 WTH? Would rather be weaker? So you're less prone to injury because of the stretch? You'll pull the muscle because it is weaker after the stretch. Explosive movements require the muscles to be STRONG not weak. Your statement holds not water or scientific fact.

  • @J888HNT omg. Your muscles will be weaker for the exercise not forever. The workout will make them stronger over time, the stretching will make them a tiny bit weaker for the exercise but you will still benefit from the exercise. Look at olympic gymnasts. You think they just jump and flip around with cold muscles? No. Why, because you will pull something. Half their training is stretching. Your strength has nothing to do to how prone your are to muscle injury. Anyone can strain a muscle

  • @arj3191 Again this statement really shows your depth of understanding. Static stretching has a place in the grand scheme of training and that is to increase ROM. Why would you need to increase your ROM right before your workout in your warm up?? Static stretching does not "warm up" your muscles the way you think it does. Go back to my first comment. It says STATIC STRETCHING IN YOUR WARM UP? Noob!

  • @arj3191

It is very much a grey area at the moment stretching.

I know many athletic coaches who ban stretching warm ups before explosive training.

But there is many who swear by them.

I my self prefer to do circulation warm ups so as to get blood flow increases in the muscles.

but to be honest it is hard to say which is better.

Until there is proper clinical and national population level research carried out it is a guessing game.

Good video by the way I do a similar program.

  • @J888HNT yea your muscles may feel tired after stretching, but they will be able to perform better and move more. They need to warm up and be stretched if you want to avoid injury. Idk why you think stretching will make someone weaker, Why would they teach little kids in PE classes to stretch???

  • @arj3191 Dude your have no idea. PE teachers are taught knowledge from way back when. Physiotherapists are still learning outdated information as we speak and so are trainers. lol. It seems like you fall into that category too. What qualifies you to say all of the above?

  • Comment removed

  • @arj3191 j888hnt is retarded, dont listen too him, you have to stretch to give 100 percent on your workout, if not ur fucked.

  • @TheZoelzer2 they aren't arguing about if it is good for performance. they are arguing about stretching preventing injury. and stretching cold muscles/before exercise has not been proven to prevent injury. studies say if you do stretch before, fine, and keep doing it, but that warming up properly/thoroughly is much more important than stretching.

  • @arj3191 they teach kids in PE to do it because the world is largely misinformed. you guys are misunderstanding each other. stretching and warming up are two different things. in track, first thing, we jog a few laps. that's warming up. getting the blood flowing. then we stretched. the most recent studies show that neither stretching cold nor stretching warm muscles helps prevent injury; warming up and finding a routine that works for you, is the best way to prevent injury.

  • @medow006 ...however, stretching AFTER exercise, is widely accepted to be helpful in preventing injury, improving recovery time, and overall more important than stretching before exercise.

  • @arj3191 Agree. I think the chap who was trying to debate you about pre-workout static stretching was a bit off. Static stretching where the positions are held for long periods of time can inhibit power and strength. But static positions held for fairly breif amounts of time, such as what you did, should not adversely affect performance; in fact, they should enhance your range of motion, helping reduce the chance of injury. My proof: your performance.

  • @arj3191 I read an article that warming up is better than stretching before doing exercise. Doing like a spiderman crawls is the best way to prepare.

  • @arj3191

stretching before training is good, but with that i mean dynamic stretching. static stretching will not only make you weaker, but also INCREASE the risk of injury. If you want to hear that from one of the most successful coaches on this planet, google Tip 36: Why you should never do static stretching before lifting weights and choose the first link, it´ll show you exactly what is best for you.

no one will insult you, its just an trade of experiences and opinions.

  • @arj3191 Alternatively, you can jog around for 15-20 mins before stretching to prevent muscle fatigue you get from static stretching and stuff.

    Just a heads up.

  • @J888HNT Fail.

  • @J888HNT Fuck scientific facts.the only fact we have,is experience

  • @J888HNT you know what? instead of talking about the scientific fact how bout you prove this to us by trying to do sprint workouts without stretching and not pull a muscle....tell us how it went huh

  • @J888HNT If you so scared of static stretching just do dynamic stretching...

  • @J888HNT with black people science is nothing ... usaine bolt defines sceince now piss off you troll

  • @StockyDoccy i mean defies not define

  • @arj3191 look into dynamic stretching, do it before a workout and static stretch after to remove lactic acid. Don't static stretch before a workout.

  • Comment removed

  • @J888HNT though you are both right, stretching is an important part of preparing your muscles for the strain of exercise. Static stretching is a better substitute than not doing anything, but the most effective way to prepare your muscles to work would be dynamic stretching. Performing a series of active stretches will not only rush blood into your muscles to "warm them up", but it will prepare the rest of your body (cardiovascular and respiratory systems) to exercise.

  • @J888HNT Exercises like bounding, acceleration starts, ladder drills, etc. would be a better substitute for static stretching and not stretching at all.

  • @J888HNT In the article you are quoting, they are arguing that dynamic stretching is better than static strething. but they also say that athletes that stretch and warm up perform much better than those who do not.

  • @J888HNT this guy looks pretty fucking jacked so i would do it.....

  • @condemnedeye because stretching has anything to do with "looking jacked"...? god, you are dumb.

  • @medow006 well it works for him!

  • @J888HNT That's why you don't STATIC STRETCH. You stretch, but don't static stretch. In other words, you should do some stretching while moving, such as high knees, karaoke (side weave), high kicks, etc. There are plenty of moving exercises that help improve the elasticity of muscles and tendons without straining the muscle, mainly by increasing blood flow to the muscles, providing them with the oxygen the cells need. Static stretching strains the muscle, while reducing blood flow to the muscle

  • @J888HNT Sorry but gotta agree with arj3191. Its better to do some dynamic stretching. These will warmup your muscles which prepare them for the kind of physical activity you are doing with this exercise. Static stretching has it's place, but dynamic is always a good idea.

    ----FoxontheMove.blogspot.com---

  • @J888HNT

when you stretch you lose the explosive elasticity in the muscle but is better for more range of motion, so it all depends on what workout you're doing. there is no right or wrong.

  • @J888HNT

sorry my mistake, you dont lose elasticity, you lose tension which could be utilised for explosive power. therefore dynamic stretch pre training is better for a sprinter, but for e.g. a bodybuilder is better statically stretching.

  • @J888HNT I think the point you're trying to make to him is - Before working out one should not do passive stretching - instead active, dynamic strecting. the muslces will send neuromuscular message to the brain, saying we're about to get busy. to put it in simple terms.

  • Static stretching in your warm up? NO

  • @J888HNT YES. Explosive exercises require stretching, look at Olympic sprinters right before a race...

  • @J888HNT Just because Olympic sprinters static stretch does not mean they are correct to do so. EXPLOSIVE exercises require dynamic stretches before the activity itself to optimise performance. Static stretches lengthen muscles and lengthened muscles lose strength and does not make them explosive. To make your body explosive, the training must be.

  • @J888HNT This is not to contradict your argument, but merely a question. Do static stretches truly lengthen your musles? I have issues with my thighs that they are muscular but are very thin and weak near my knees. Will static stretches help spread my muscles over the ligaments and joints?

  • @JaySharp604 Tri-plane dynamic functional flexibility moves will help the tendons strengthen around the knee. You have to provide me with more information really about what it is you train for.

  • @J888HNT I don't believe so. Massages have been known to create more muscle definition. Bodybuilders get them to increase separation in muscles, and massages lengthen the fascia around the muscle which gives it more room to grow.

  • @arj3191 OMG!! Muscles will grow anyway if you train for them for muscular hypertrophy. With the amount of stress body builders put on their muscles and the amount of protein they consume they are bound to grow with or without massage. Massages have been known to create more muscle definition? Where is the fact? Or just more pseudo science?

  • man im running once every 2 days 5km with no pause..but im skinny as fuck..what do you recommend me to bulk up a lil bit

    thanks

  • @phobiazzzero well, first off, you don`t get much muscle by running 5k, but it does make your cardio very good. Well second, i dont know if you do anything else than running 5k`s, but what i would advice you is to just get into the gym or something. What i like to do every evening before i get to sleep is do 3x20 pushups, almost with your chest touching the floor. So if you do want to bulk up, just to some powertraining

  • @RocknSoul95 well..thanks for the advice..those pushups had any effect on you?

  • @phobiazzzero ehm, well most of the people think that i actually am quite muscled, but i just started athletics and i did speedskating before. Now i mainly train for 2/4/8 and some technical stuff

  • Burpees are a bitch I hate them, those drain out my energy fast.

  • do you do weights for your upper body?

  • Muscle burning ha

  • youre a sprinter? can i guess…hm 2/4? lol you seem more of that type. i sprint too, what are some of your favorite workouts (track and field specific) ? if you run 1/2 anything speed oriented would be appreciated, if youre 2/4 what do you do to condition yourself for the later stages of the 400? btw what do you think of sprinters doing xc, lots of kids in my school debate it

  • @thebigtortuga My favorite workouts include the one in the video, buffalo, and Super HIIT. As for sprinters doing XC, theres nothing wrong with that, but don't expect to win a gold in a 100m or 5k. That kind of mixture would create a mid distance runner (400-800 maybe?) your body. I did XC in middle school, which whipped me in shape, by my passion was for the explosiveness of sprinting.

  • @arj3191 sorry, buffalo and super hiit? explain? btw, i know what regular hiit is but what do you do since its "super" haha

  • You look like an anthlete, but you didn't get that look by exercising like you have shown people on this vid. You're slow, your leg muscles are weak, and the answer is GYM ! So why don't you show people how to excercise in gym ?

I'm sorry for being rude, but thats the way your speed, and muscular structure are telling. I'm from Bosnia- sorry for my bad English

  • @Jutube91 heres the thing: to make videos you need multiple takes, so I basically did this exercise maybe 3 times, so im wiped already, and they are not supposed to be 100% all out sprints. Trust me my legs are far from weak, I've been a sprinter for years. You're look has nothing to do with how you perform....

  • @arj3191

Good for you. Bravo for your upper body :)

''You're look has nothing to do with how you perform....''- I don't agree with that.

Can you explain me how the sprinter doesn't have developed adductor muscles ?

Just to say that my comments don't have malicious nature, and I'm just curious :)

  • @Jutube91 Just because you can't see a certain muscle does not mean anything! Running track, I took care of my legs before anything else. If you honestly judge someones athletic ability by their appearance then you got it allll wrong. Look at Jet Li and Manny Pacquiao, they are a fraction of my size but can knock anyone out in one hit. If you think you have to be a certain size to fight, think again... Trust me, just because I don't have the legs of a bodybuilder doesn't mean I can't sprint.

  • @arj3191 in my opinion, you have the legs of a sprinter. no homo.

  • Good stuff

  • hoooooly shit this kills

  • I will run 30 yards. Then I will run back.... and lay down on my face and pass out !!

  • Hey! Those were only 9 burpees lol

  • @leesk94. I don't know who made the beat but checkout wix.com/caintheproducer1/muzik for some dope beats.

  • what a great circuit im so going to try this out, thanks aj

  • I do this kinda stuff for wrestling, its fun

  • This video's helpful. I got new tips that I could utilize for my workout. Also, check this site I found recently and they're offering programs for losing weight and gaining lean muscles. They're actually promoting the "Hollywood Look" for FREE. I couldn't post the site here so just view my profile.

  • very formal style of speaking and excellent exercise circuit

  • great vid...how old are u??

  • Im trying this tomorrow...tnks for posting this!

  • this shit is hard, could only manage 3 sets of 2 and i was knackered !

  • @cinimodize Up-downs are the hardest huh? My dumb football teamate pulled a fire alarm during practice and we had to do at least 100 of them , with all pads and everything o.o pretty hard lol

  • Can anybody please tell me the song name of this instrumental track that's playing in this vid? Thanks.

  • Hey I need some stomach exercises do you have any?

  • u must have some powerful legs that was a fast sprint

  • white boy cant jump

  • nice <3

  • Hi hi! Have you thought about intellectus 424 diet (search on google)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my sister lost tons of weight with it.

  • Great routine man! I like it!

  • I was expecting to see him do the other two sets, but the he's like fuck this have fun Jajajaja Lolz perfect video by the way.. I needed something like this to help prepare me fir the military.

  • @kyledanger45 ...those are called adidas bounce

  • @kyledanger45 ...those are called adidas bounce

  • Great workout! I have no idea how you do 3 sets of 3! I could only do 6 single sets and I was done!

  • noooo, i dont believed that, for me, yuo must run 500 km per day to burning fat so fast....

  • i wish i could do push ups tht fast

  • Nice body man, how long have you trained? any sports at school?

  • Drop and give me 10 more, I saw you dogging it on the 3rd run back!!!!

  • Don't wanna be highly critical or nothing, I love your videos just that once you're stetching your calve muscles try and bring both your hands together and you will get a better stretch.. (I have done Taekwondo for over 2 years and its something thats empahsised on)

  • Did u play any sports in highschool?

  • How much do you weight bro?
