  • @alstare00

yeah man white on red would look sick

  • Well done bro! Are those 15"? What color is your car?

I'm thinking of painting mine white, my car is red. What do you guys think?

  • Thanks for the reply. Mine were powder coated and they came out really nice with rustoleum spay paint.

  • how did the paint hold?

  • @jaredd624 so far the paint is doing great! as good as when i first slapped 'em on.

  • sooooo what da FUCK are you gonna put them on to? a fuckin wheel burrow?

  • @Immaculite if u see my other vids, i have a 2011 wrx :D comes with summer tires, so i got a set of used rims with all seasons for cheap and use it during the winter season

  • Did you have to deflate the tire when you masked it off??

  • @acballin15 nope, just stick index cards inbetween the rim and the tire. no spray paint got onto the tire except when like 2 of my index cards went limp and i didn't realize it

  • were your rims originally powder coated? mine are and I want to paint over the grey powder coat.

  • @craigdbl i don't think so, but you can spray paint powder coated rims. you must sand the surface well and degrease it to make sure the paint sticks to the rim.

  • I bet you didnt even paint the pack of the rim...

    Cheap ass.

If a jobs worth doing, do it properly.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 haha. assuming you mean back, there wasn't a need for me to. what's the point of spraying the back? to show people when you rotate tires? if there was ANY significance to painting the back i would. it's not about being cheap, spray paint is cheap. it takes a lot more needless work and time to do that though. these are temporary winter rims just during the cold weather. hope this vid helped you! :D

  • @topdawgx99 actually it stops the water from getting under the paint.

    Hope iv helped you.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 yup, i didn't know that. for me, it's not worth it. these are just seasonal, and i followed other guides where they didn't paint the backside, and they said after 5 years it still looks as good as when they first did it. mine still look sharp so no complaints here!

  • @SuPrAmAd101 but he didnt take tha paint off from the back...so you're not making any sense, however you do seem like an asshole:)

  • @sotimihi Yes the standard wheel paint.

But the paint which he has just sprayed on you gimp.

I do know what im talking about, im a time served mechanic aswell as running a small company of my own dealing in bodywork and painting.

  • Yo how do I get my paint to stay on the rim? Cause it feels like if I just scratch it enough it would come right off. I first used a primer then I used white. How do I make it stay on the rim or give it a shiny look and not feel like it would come off? Help please. Thanks.

  • @ChangMasterSupreme clearcoat helps protect the paint and gives it a more shiny look

  • wow this guy works fast!

  • @thechickenstrangler i actually laughed at that one haha.

  • @thechickenstrangler

duh.didnt you see how the asian's built that building in 15 days

  • How are the wheels looking today? Any fade or anything?

  • @mazda6tuner99 i haven't put them on yet. painted it back in march, waiting until fall/winter to slap the rims on. i probably won't see much wear and tear in the life of these. use them only during the snow seasons and it's supposed to last many years all season.

  • @topdawgx99 Fast reply lmao. I gotcha though, I plan to pain my rims soon, and hopefully I don't see to much wear or fade.

  • @mazda6tuner99 like i always say, the prep, precleaning and sanding is what will make it last. also degreasing. clean it well and it will last forever :D

  • @topdawgx99 Well thanks for the advice, hopefully they turn out good.

  • 3x5 cards... NICE!

  • Hey man...lol i had the same idea so i typed it on youtube and well..THANKs lol hows it lasting?

  • what did you seperate the rim from the tire with

  • @dezzynum60 it looks like he used white cards (like 8x5 sized) and placed them in between the wheel well to separate the rim from the tire. You can also sacrifice a deck of cards. Personally I've used 8x5 note cards and it works well.

  • lol @ 1:01

  • how many cans did you use?

  • @thisisyourboss i think i used 2 or 2 and a half

  • @topdawgx99 thanks i ended up using two for my rims

  • @thisisyourboss nice, i hope it turned out well and lasts long :D

  • thanks, but is the engine white paint alone pretty glossy? or is it flat?

  • I see you used the Duplicolor Engine paint White.

How what is the White? did you have to clear over it to get a better glossy white color? I'm looking for a glossy white, but not super glossy. What do you think about just the Engine white paint alone? is that glossy enough?

this is going onto an application that may need many touch-ups so i dont want clear coat. but i do want a glossy white look

    thanks

  • @fatchickonadiet if you do a good job the first time, it should last many years with daily use. clear coat definitely adds more of a glossy look, and it adds protection. if you really think you will be doing many touch ups, why not just add some more clear coat while you're at it, you aren't supposed to use it for 24 hours after painting anyways.

  • paint my chrome grille for me.

i will get supplies/ heebeen for you.

  • @moosootank haha sure. you are on summer break in like 2 weeks? lets do it then. what color did you want to paint it? i think i have degreaser, extra sand paper, white primer and white paint, and clear coat. so you just need new paint color, primer if you want, um... that's probably it.
