Piracy is killing the creative industry, the music, movies and programs that we watch will have little or no budgets if this continues. None of it will be worth watching, free or not.
My guess is Nagravision 3 codes will be updated every three to six months.

If Nag 3 is to be cracked soon the problem will be that Nag 4 is ready and waiting in the aisles. So what is the point of cracking Nag 3? There is a simple fix and that is to pay. Murdoch is playing you all like fools, you only had Nag 2 because it was what he wanted. The only way to beat the man is to forget the service ever existed. Watch the match down the pub and as for movies I don't need to tell you where to get those from ;-)

@h2oextremepcs I think the implementation of Nag3 by Virgin will financially recoup itself ten fold. I also think that they will be able to write off most of the cost as a necessary expense via HMRC. A win win situation for Virgin all round, so yes I do think that they would re-encrypt. Not straight away but I wouldn't mind betting it wont take as long as it has this time.
@bm2g red card?? i didnt get one all i got was my channels being scrambled ive now had to switch back to my vermin box thats slow laggy n takes ages to change channel which is a real bugger when your having your tea n the adverts come on lol

Not saying ive read a card but if i had i would say it was a 180 which is the same as as the spanish nagra 3 cards and the Irish nagra 3 cards it is nagra 3 and game over as there is no hack for nagra 3
haha ive seen on forum theres a post with about 200 coments and growing that there gonna put a 240v plug on there cablefeed and switch it on when they switch to nagra 3 and surely that will fry alot of the boxes think here 200,000 hacked boxes out there if everyone done that they would be fooked

Really. You're complaining about how long it takes to change a card? Unless you haven't noticed the software used on Virgin boxes is very old. It still works but is very slow nowadays and very basic in graphics. You shouldn't expect these kind of things with old technology. Old, but trusty, tried and tested technology.
About time Virgin Media did this why should we legal subscribers have to put up with people with dodgy boxes or cards. This should have been done by Virgin a long time ago or even when it was NTL or Telewest. To all the dodgy box owners enjoy your new doorstops lol

they got to catch them first - if some one buys a duolabs com3 diablo card reader / writer for 50.00 they can decrypt the signal over n over again and i believe it works on nagra cards also not sure as i dont do it got friends who wrk there n i used to work for them for 3 1/2 yrs

Yes, Sky cards were upgraded as well as a few years ago. Relatives of mine who have Sky kept the old card and still have it held up with a magnet on the side of the fridge!
Then why not do at a time then when none of your favourite shows are on? You don't have to do it at a specific time, or a specific day anyway at least until your old card stops working.
