Very nice radio. It has everything you need for most operators. Everything is simple and clear. I like the illuminated buttons and multi-color display. It is relatively expensive. I return to radio after 20 year break and this is one of the devices that I would like to have. It's nice that you can install mechanical filters. I'm curious about comparisons with the TS590 and FT950.
Nice rig! I remember visiting Ten Tec years back... Wish I had my General License at the time so I could have tried one of their wonderful radios. Great video Wil!
@scott4460 Yes, that was a lot of fun... I think you actually picked up a TenTec mug, right? One of these days, I do want to pick up a TenTec receiver.... than if it ever breaks, take it up to the plant and visit the sights at the same time... even do some (YOU KNOW WHAT) shopping.... >smile<

i wonder why they made the eagle when the jupitor is still a nice radio, i like the sound on my jupitor better, its not any cheaper but nice video anyway.
I actually had an opportunity to visit Ten Tec a few weeks ago during their annual hamfest. It was a great experience with all their equipment on display and available for test drives. I’ll be back next year with more time and [perhaps] a few more dollars.
Didn’t get on the air, we had several things to do that day. I had no idea of the crowd that would be there and it was BUSY. Several hundred people on site, I plan on going back next year. However I did get a genuine Ten Tec 2010 Hamfest pin…no charge of course.
Wil - That was a very neat video! Now we know "the rest of the story" where you left us with the previous video. What a treat to visit TenTec! That is a nice radio and avery sweet looking microphone! Would love to have the antenna . . . I think my wife will not appreciate me watching this video ;-) I always enjoy hearing your voice. 73!
You know, that mic. I dreamt about that dang mic last night. I almost went back to Ten Tec today to buy one. Alas, I came to my senses. Glad you came along on the tour of Ten Tec. 73.
@AI4QT - I could certainly imagine dreaming about that mic! What a beautiful piece of equipment . . . one can only conjure up distant QSOs via that mic!
What a nice radio. I really want to buy one now lol. But they are expensive. What was your over all thoughts on the radio mate and what do you think the build quality is like?
Look at all the equipment! I had no idea. Know you had a large time. And, you got to touch and play. Really great. The antenna out front would probably go a long way in getting me in touch with NA1SS. I'm still trying. (-; Thanks for sharing this about Ten Tec.
@KJ4TUG As often as you come here, KJ4TUG—upgrade to General and stop by Ten Tec and make some good contacts. I spent about an hour (on lunch) in the radio room. Much fun indeed. The folks at Ten Tec were really nice. The Ten Tec Eagle is about 2K-- sort of steep-- even for my tastes. Ha! I did stop by Bass Pro, too. I could have spent a whole day in that place looking at all the stuff, but time wasn’t on my side--- had to get back to work!!!
I have an Omni 6+, a super radio..
Great video...

I think the Ten Tec Eagle was a solid-built radio. I still find the price a little steep. I would have to ponder before I took the plunge to buy one.
