  • im confused... like, can you only be deaf or blind but still have ushers? or do you have to have both? and are you really deaf or blind cuz some people with ushers and see a little and still hear a little too?

  • @bassclarinetprincess almost every single person with Usher is both blind and deaf, but most are not completely deaf and blind. It varies from person to person, and even two siblings with Usher (which is rare) would have different levels of sight and hearing. most are partially sighted and have some hearing. so yes, a person with Usher is both deaf and blind, but they aren't completely deaf or blind.

  • my dad has ushers and has lost most of his sight and is very hard of hearing. for as long as i can remember he hasnt been able to see when it starts to get dark! he is now 59 and still works on vintage cars and also has type 1 diabetes. my son has cf and is only 7 wks old, im a tad frustrated at genes right now! guess im the lucky one. good luck people!

  • My daughter has just been diagnosed with type 1, we are devastated. I found your presentation helped me understand a little more, particularly about going to dull restaurants etc. and the picture examples. This is such a hard thing to deal with and any information like this is appreciated.

  • I'm living with usher syndrome type 3. What is this all about? I couldn't understand.

    Best of luck.

  • Whats not to understand about it. My ex has the 3rd type.
