  • Well no one commented since a year ago, so yeah. not anymore

  • From my testing, built-in defragmenter in Windows 7 gives better performance after defrag than Diskeeper.

  • will it stop lag in gameS??

  • @shawnmichels1234 it will reduce stuttering so yes

  • what a bullshit video. that protocol-idiot didn't know what he was talking about... he doesn't know what the MFT is or does but claims that manipulating it will speed up defragmentation??? he has written "phail" all over him...

same goes for noobs, who dish out recommendations for defragmentation apps without even knowing how file systems work, let alone have the ability to judge about how efficiently those overhyped and overpriced products work...

  • the first 3 second of the video sounds weird :S

  • You may want to try O&O defrag too, both this and diskeeper are great.

  • Yup, but I personally like O&O better.

  • whats that have anything to do with defraging?

  • uh...okay?

  • What's wrong with you, kid? Got nothing better to do than type bad comments on youtube?

Back on diskeeper, it's an awesome program! :D

  • I got this a couple weeks ago (Diskeeper Home) and it indeed ROCKS!

  • have you try playing your favorite pc games while you have the "set and forget" feature on?

its good or bad if you does that?

  • I use Iobit SmartDefrag. I love it but Diskeeper is good to.

  • Auslogics Disk Defrag is freeware and quicker then any commercial version. I was using Perfect Disk.

  • there's a free version but it's limited to 15 days of use only. You have to buy it to use all it's features.

  • or you can download the whole thing free using torrents =)

  • I never said they weren't good, I was saying that they didn't need this stuff, therefore buying it will make decrease performance on an amazing machine. I love my iMac and will recommend it 9 times out of 10 to anyone who asks.

  • xD at your upgrade XP to Vista video. You should of also turned the volume down a bit, but I knew what was coming.

  • i use Iobit SmartDefrag

  • that was a good one on your last video scared the crap out of me,lol

  • I have 2 words

Ultimate Defrag if you haven't heard of it, In my opinion its on of the best defragers out there you can set any file or directory to be set on the outside tracks of the disk (which are the fastest in terms of seek times)

  • Why doesn't the new version of diskeeper have an icon in the system tray like the old ones?

    O&O does

  • I use O&O Defrag and does the same stuff.

  • I use Perfect Disk 8 and it's MS Certified.

I had several version of DK and didn't like it.

  • They also make anti-virus software for the Mac, the overall message: Don't use these utilities, they do more harm than good. People have lost entire drives because of iDefrag. That is why I steer clear. When a Mac isn't being used heavily, the processor cycles will be used to defrag any files that may have been strewn across the system because it can happen when uninstalling SOME programs.

  • if it's not open source...forget about it.

  • you said it.

  • Windows defrag. i had it running all bloody day and it doesnt even let you see how much progress it's done so i cancelled it.

  • vista's defrag sucks big time. i like the windows 95 version better (the windows 95 version kicks ass, i need to make a video about it.)

  • beauty of OS X or any Unix/Linux machine, no need to defrag because files aren't spewed across the drive in the first place.

  • I use diskeeper, it's pretty good for my needs.

    *cough* torrents *cough*

  • What's the point in having it run constantly if the point in running a defrag is so your hard drive is used less and thus giving it a longer life??

  • lol

  • Is this freeware, shareware, or do we have to shell out many dollars?

  • "...it's really worth the money..."

  • funny the way everyone(including the salesman to this program(which gave me the idea for this post)refers to their computer as 'it'...one day computers if programmers do what they should should refer to them as their friends or some term more warm

  • You mean people dont already?
