@crazyfun07 He used language so much since he was a toddler, it's "ingrained" into his brain. He's also been with his wife for nearly all his life so he remembers her as well.
I'm surprised that he's able to recognize his wife at this point, given that his last memory of her would be from over 20 years ago. He just walks up and hugs her, not questioning for a moment why she's aged 20 years in the blink of his eye.
It is great that he thinks it is the first time in years every time she sees him again. I bet that makes her feel extraordinarily special to be treated that way every single time your husband sees you.
@hant420 very funny comment, im pissed i didnt think of it ha! ill add my own wit. i wish this guy was my bookie, id only remind him of my winning bets
@Choice777 Do you know how much longer we live today compared to just a few hundred years ago due to medical research and other amazing leaps in technology? Yeah wars are "stupid" and do cost alot of money but dont think we dont put money and effort into the sciences.
I don't mean it in an offensive way but I was suprised by how intelligent and thoughtful he was, the mind is incredible, I really feel for him and his wife though.
Ah... you can just tell how much he loves her... she's like the one thing that stands out in his memory. It's like when he sees her a light is turned on in the darkness of his mind - he get's so excited and happy just to see her. It makes me want to cry....
But it's so beautiful he remembers her. He must really really love her. And she's a great person. It must be so frustrating for her, and dreamlike or strange for him. It's magnificent he learnt the piano so well, it's in his subconscious.
I am happy that he can't start to be anxes about everything when he remembers only 30 seconds at the time.... It would be awfull to feel anxes and scared about things around when you can't remember anything... But he looks so happy when he sees his wife. It makes me happy that he has eaven that. <3

@SpankerMyToaster I dunno. Gravity, Time and Space are pretty powerful forces seeing as they have an effect on everything in the Universe including the mental perceptions of love and music.

I found him so ironically halarious, and he seems such a nice person. I wish him a properous life, but i cant stop imagineing what if his wife left him or died peacefully, what would become of him....
@telecomguy10 because he lost his memory 20 years ago.. If he learnt before that it would of been stored subconsciously thus easier to remember :) Watch momento lol.
I think it would be easy to rob this guy... Just walk up to him talk about random stuff stop and then say he was going to give you loads of money
@andypmz07 lol just take his wallet out his pocket and carry on talking. then he might say , ithink ive lost my, and you say oh , thats strange and smile
This is the saddest thing I've ever seen in my life. I really hope someone is watching over me and all of my family and friends, so we don't fall to this illness, wow what an eye opener.
it is kind of dumb to waste your time to talk to him since he will forget it but you have to feel him... but thats what god wants to do to him... he has a dedicated wife...
i really dont know what to say about this im speechless
Improving his quality of life somehow, could probably benefit to a lot's of people if not all of us, who will keep living long enough to have to some degree some memory problems.
@zonchanch Agreed! This is what real marriage is about...Real Love is self sacrifice, kindess, compassion, etc...and it isn't self serving. We should all work to be as worthwhile a spouse as she is.
Instead we worship people devoid of moral character, Like Kim Kardashian. Is it any wonder the divorce rate is so high? This wonderful wife, and people like her should be our role models...
i feel so sry for him....but his lucky to have a wife that loves him that much....i can't imagine what will happen if his wife dies.......eternal suffering/pain?
@peepo9000 Becoming a highly trained classical musician changes ones' brain profoundly. It's such a profound change, that the only profession that can be seen by looking at ones' brain is that of a highly trained musician.
His condition is likely caused by the some sort of degeneration of the region of the brain that controls memory...

I really like to apologize if I am wrong but I think this is completely fake and more of a short documentary based on the movie Memento than a short term memory man.
If this is real, why is he not asking about the camera man following them like a snake. Plus people with amnesia are vulnerable and therefore unsecured and curious to know who the cameraman is. He would be asking the cameramen questions such as who are you? why are you here?
If I am wrong then I hope he gets his memory back.
@C0mmentar sadly it's a really story - his name's Clive wearing and he was a talented British musician and conductor until this happened to him. He's been living like this since 1985. You should look up 'Clive Wearing's diaries', they're really interesting. He'll write 'I am perfectly awake for the first time' Then he'll cross it out a few minutes later, confused and write it out again. And so on and so forth.
I don't understand one thing. If he has memory loss why is it that when he plays the piano the song is constant? or perhaps I didn't hear a pause. Or how do you even know what a human is.
@Iz7zI Because skilled learning works in different ways and happens in a different part in the brain. HM had his hippocampal formation removed, which has much to do with acquiring new memories.
@viksra Great question!!! This condition he has is hard to understand.
