  • 5:31 he freaking scared the hell out of me.

  • it would be fun to troll him

  • Why can't the wife just write down whatever she has to say? Make him wear a name tag. Let him carry a map when he goes out.

  • He could also be the greatest troll ever.

  • How does he remember how to speak? Wouldn't he forget language?

  • @crazyfun07 He used language so much since he was a toddler, it's "ingrained" into his brain. He's also been with his wife for nearly all his life so he remembers her as well.

  • PUSH 22222222

  • Oh I see.

  • i would tell him all my secrets

  • hit him in the head with a brick. perhaps a new brain trauma will fix the old.

  • @anime1973 But that's like poker. Risky>reward.

  • I'm surprised that he's able to recognize his wife at this point, given that his last memory of her would be from over 20 years ago. He just walks up and hugs her, not questioning for a moment why she's aged 20 years in the blink of his eye.

  • What show is this?

  • It is great that he thinks it is the first time in years every time she sees him again. I bet that makes her feel extraordinarily special to be treated that way every single time your husband sees you.

  • Planet of the apes

  • Well.....conversations must never get dry with them. Seriously though, sad stuff but it is nice he does remember how to play piano and his wife

  • he's faking it.

  • @louidoggify For 20 twenty years straight?

  • @Fripitto 20 years? Try 30 seconds.

  • wouldn't he bug out every few seconds when he realizes some strange men are videotaping him

  • It's so beautiful and heartwarming to see him greet his wife :)

  • she should make a video of abbott and costello who's on fist

  • It's sorta sad in a way but I love his reaction when he sees his wife. So adorable :')

  • Yeeeea new zealand!!

  • thats the best thing i've ever seen.. so beautiful & brings tears to my eyes

  • @hant420 very funny comment, im pissed i didnt think of it ha! ill add my own wit. i wish this guy was my bookie, id only remind him of my winning bets

  • The only man in the world thats allowed to forget their anniversary

  • If he can't remember more than 30 seconds wouldnt he start playing the song again over and over on the piano ?

  • @reed00112 I was thinking that to, most songs are longer than 30 seconds

  • he can't be a christian who's over and over again should remember geezus.

  • this the overwhelming power of an endless falling in love, dont call it tragedy

  • now thats what i call TRUE LOVE<3

  • i'm happy that billions are spent on wars, and not on stupid cures.

  • @Choice777 Are you crazy?

  • @MrLegandir no, just sarcastic.

  • @Choice777 Do you know how much longer we live today compared to just a few hundred years ago due to medical research and other amazing leaps in technology? Yeah wars are "stupid" and do cost alot of money but dont think we dont put money and effort into the sciences.

  • I don't mean it in an offensive way but I was suprised by how intelligent and thoughtful he was, the mind is incredible, I really feel for him and his wife though.

  • His voice is exactly like Michael Gambon's... O_O

  • Oh dear this is terribly sad :(

  • sad he doesn't remember his own children

  • I so want to post it on a quote website saying

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mistery. Today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.

This man got it a little wrong.

Sorry, that's rude... i was just thinking it./

  • Well at least he's happy, that's most important, although its still tragic, he is happy.

  • That sucks, lawls!

  • Oh I see.

  • Ah... you can just tell how much he loves her... she's like the one thing that stands out in his memory. It's like when he sees her a light is turned on in the darkness of his mind - he get's so excited and happy just to see her. It makes me want to cry....

  • But it's so beautiful he remembers her. He must really really love her. And she's a great person. It must be so frustrating for her, and dreamlike or strange for him. It's magnificent he learnt the piano so well, it's in his subconscious.

  • Pooor pooor old man, and what if.... wait.... he wouldn't remember :/

  • I am happy that he can't start to be anxes about everything when he remembers only 30 seconds at the time.... It would be awfull to feel anxes and scared about things around when you can't remember anything... But he looks so happy when he sees his wife. It makes me happy that he has eaven that. <3

  • 0:32 ... Wait a min... what in i doing on my computer ??

  • hmm,, its weird,, dont get it

    buut they are awesome!

  • i would love to come home to that welcoming every day

  • @downthestreetteam Problem is, he greets you like that even you leave the room and come back.

  • They are so cute together!!!

  • luckily he recognize his wife..oh god!

  • how does he dress himself, i dont get this. he is putting his tie on and then he thinks what the crap am i doing, putting it on or taking it off . sod it lets just put my jim jams on

  • Memento

  • This is so sad. This makes me feel so sad. At least he is very loving and caring. I love how whenever he sees her he greets her so lovingly.

  • so sad..

  • Just proves that love and music are the strongest things in the world.

  • @SpankerMyToaster I dunno. Gravity, Time and Space are pretty powerful forces seeing as they have an effect on everything in the Universe including the mental perceptions of love and music.

    nerd bomb anyone?

  • @SpankerMyToaster not exactly.. have you heard of the music people listen to now? i wouldnt really call that music.

  • @SpankerMyToaster thats not what this proves at all... are you fucking retarded?

  • @SpankerMyToaster

or that they are the most deeply consciouses things that pass over into sub-consciousness through compassion and will

  • its strange though. how does he know how to speak or eat with a knife or fork.

  • @ulkord He rememebers everything he learned before being struck with amenesia.

  • you could kick him in the nuts see him double up in pain and then instantly forget what you just did to him

  • Never run out of things to talk about.

  • i would never leave my girlfriend for anything that happens to her but i hope she would do the same for me

  • so he remebers old things and forgets things he has just been told i think

  • If this is real, why doesn't he look at the camera and constantly ask what or who it is?

  • @qbb01 it could be that the disease only affects some memories

  • @qbb01 if you think this is fake your an idiot

  • @qbb01 hmm exactly and why doesnt he say stuff like wow where am i and what just happened. and how come he can play a long tune on the piano. maybe hes trying to forget about a tax bill

  • Ten second Tom.

  • @LetsMakeCucakes I thought of the EXACT same thing >_>

  • @LetsMakeCucakes that was a funny film, hi my names tom lol

  • @steviesuperstar ahaha i know, this reminds me of him!

  • Bless them both <3

  • Who would dislike a video like this?!

  • a 30 second memory diest mean he must forget all things. pl see memento for further knowledfe

  • he must have been such a great man to have such a great wife.

  • I found him so ironically halarious, and he seems such a nice person. I wish him a properous life, but i cant stop imagineing what if his wife left him or died peacefully, what would become of him....

  • the conversation at 1:31 is so sad, yet so adorable just because the guy's British, and the way he answers the questions

  • I have a question, how does he know he has a 30 second memory. :/

  • If he has a 30 second memory, how could he play the piano?

  • @telecomguy10 because he lost his memory 20 years ago.. If he learnt before that it would of been stored subconsciously thus easier to remember :) Watch momento lol.

I think it would be easy to rob this guy... Just walk up to him talk about random stuff stop and then say he was going to give you loads of money

  • @andypmz07 Sort of like riding a bike. That was what I figured.

  • @andypmz07 lol just take his wallet out his pocket and carry on talking. then he might say , ithink ive lost my, and you say oh , thats strange and smile

  • @telecomguy10 How can I know nobody but only a few people when I got amnesia?

  • This is the saddest thing I've ever seen in my life. I really hope someone is watching over me and all of my family and friends, so we don't fall to this illness, wow what an eye opener.

  • i want to meet this man! he seems so nice

  • aww this is sad....but quite cute how she stood by his side this whole time

  • 48 people think that hes done for

  • my memory is only 5 month- 13 years

  • it is kind of dumb to waste your time to talk to him since he will forget it but you have to feel him... but thats what god wants to do to him... he has a dedicated wife...

i really dont know what to say about this im speechless

  • condition like lucy's of 50 first dates

  • Oh i see

  • I ASKED YOU TO TAKE THE BIN OUT.

sorry, i forgot..............what are we talking about........WHO THE FUCK ohh ye your my wife.

  • he would make a good buddhist..no attachemens to past

  • he is the leading cast of MEMENTO everyday !

    wish him the best !

  • poor man

  • Improving his quality of life somehow, could probably benefit to a lot's of people if not all of us, who will keep living long enough to have to some degree some memory problems.

  • It is sad but I do think it's wonderful how he reacts to his wife. Pure joy and absolute love when he sees her. I could just cry.

  • @redpanda814 Kind of like my dog. I'll leave my house for 10 minutes and he'll be so excited to see me.

  • Very verry sad... i wish there was a cure. I hope he doesnt live in pain or fear too much

  • Just install him a new hard drive.

  • This guy and the 'woman who could not forget' from the related videos should have a child, it would have an average memory

  • my uncle has alzheimer's, this is exactly what he is like...you can introduce yourself and five seconds later he has no idea who you are...:(

  • Master at keeping secrets

  • @NatsirtMats What's the point of telling him?

  • Comment removed

  • This is a dedicated wife. Amazing.

  • @zonchanch Agreed! This is what real marriage is about...Real Love is self sacrifice, kindess, compassion, etc...and it isn't self serving. We should all work to be as worthwhile a spouse as she is.

Instead we worship people devoid of moral character, Like Kim Kardashian. Is it any wonder the divorce rate is so high? This wonderful wife, and people like her should be our role models...

  • If I was his wife I would just keep walking in and out

  • He could do with some ALZ-112. Like if you get it :)

  • cooked salad is awesome

  • This video is such a downer ):

  • I think he remembers but just trolls his wife "lol i dunno"

  • How does he remember english?

  • @ShapeManipulation

Because that's something he learned as a baby and it's kind of just instinct, like walking, eating, etc.

  • Its sad but he seems like a really nice guy and his wife really is a hero :3

  • Sure he isn't just always high as a kite?

  • This is amazing...I don't understand how he remembers language and mannerisms or music...

  • @peepo9000 Its probably knowledge required before the memoryloss :) Its tragic and beautifull at the same time.

  • @peepo9000 Becoming a highly trained classical musician changes ones' brain profoundly. They use both sides of their brains simultaneously far more often, and in more complex ways, than any other group. It's such a profound change, that the only profession that can be seen by looking at ones' brain is that of a highly trained musician.

His condition is likely caused by the some sort of degeneration of the region of the brain that controls memory...

  • @peepo9000 ...Given how well he functions otherwise, I would imagine that the damage to his brain only affected that one specific "memory" region.

I also expect, that having been an accomplished conductor/pianist/musicologist, he had already burned huge numbers of complex musical pathways, all over his brain...

  • @peepo9000 ...When the "memory" region was damaged, the musical memory stored there was likely ruined.

Luckily, the huge amounts of deep musical memory he'd stored all over the rest of his brain would have remained untouched.

Language does migrate in the brain as it's assimilated. But, I'd guess that the real reason his language and manneisms are perfect, is that the part of his brain governing those skills were untouched by the illness.

This is my best "semi" educated guess, lol =)

  • LOL she trollin

  • Blank

  • Memento guy?

  • The reason why he doesn't ask who the camera crew is and why they are there is because, if he did that would become the soul of his existence,a never ending stream of questions and he knows it! ....he has no memory and he knows it! ....but he's not retarted.

  • God, poor bastard :(

  • Why would God ever allow this to happen?

  • @tonyrosam no one is perfect but allah .perhaps he got some thing that you dont have .salam

  • @tonyrosam Because there is no god.

  • @KmFThEGameR quite down you..

  • How does he remembers that he has a daughter, if he only remembers his wife!!!

  • @ninehoursful Inaccuracy in the narration, I suppose. Another documentary stated that he remembers his wife and having children from a previous marriage, although he cannot recall their names.

  • Just like me in Chem lecture

  • @saifulisfree agree.

  • clyvezheimers?

  • Covek sa 30 sekundi pamcenja svaki put kad vidi svoju zenu vidi je prvi put.

  • well at least you don't have to come up with new topics to keep up a conversation.

  • Must be those pesky indicas.

  • I really like to apologize if I am wrong but I think this is completely fake and more of a short documentary based on the movie Memento than a short term memory man.

If this is real, why is he not asking about the camera man following them like a snake. Plus people with amnesia are vulnerable and therefore unsecured and curious to know who the cameraman is. He would be asking the cameramen questions such as who are you? why are you here?

If I am wrong then I hope he gets his memory back.

  • @C0mmentar It is real. They did an intervene in reader's digest not to long ago.

  • @C0mmentar sadly it's a really story - his name's Clive wearing and he was a talented British musician and conductor until this happened to him. He's been living like this since 1985. You should look up 'Clive Wearing's diaries', they're really interesting. He'll write 'I am perfectly awake for the first time' Then he'll cross it out a few minutes later, confused and write it out again. And so on and so forth.

  • I don't understand one thing. If he has memory loss why is it that when he plays the piano the song is constant? or perhaps I didn't hear a pause. Or how do you even know what a human is.

  • @Iz7zI Because skilled learning works in different ways and happens in a different part in the brain. HM had his hippocampal formation removed, which has much to do with acquiring new memories.

  • this reminds me of "the notebook" <3

  • @CookieMonstersFriend omg yeah, you're so right!

  • She could totally fuck some dude in front of him and he'd forget about it seconds later.

  • @NotANerd7 DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE VIDEO?!?

  • @hinwer Yes, are you retarded sir?

  • @NotANerd7 Yes, are you aware that i'm a GIRL? Are you aware that your comment is now receiving my DISlike?

  • @hinwer ONOES! ANOTHER FAT BITCH WHO TROLLS YOUTUBE!

  • This is truly a love story.

  • Howcome this guy is not always asking who the camera crew is and why they're there?

  • @viksra Great question.

  • @viksra Great question!!! This condition he has is hard to understand. For example, if his wife stands behind him while he plays the piano and she doesn't say or do anything while he plays the piano, how long will it be before he forgets she is standing behind him? Anyway, your observation is good..why doesn't he ask about the camera crew..very strange indeed.

  • @viksra because he keeps forgetting they're there...

  • @viksra hmm true but maybe each time he asks and they tell him and they just cut off that part. lol

  • @viksra They probabily edited those scenes out or hid the cameras.

  • @viksra maybe they edit it out. But that's just a guess, who knows. lol

  • @viksra He's too confused, he just does.

  • @viksra on the actual special they cut that out, but he did do it. I saw this documentary on tv

  • @viksra he would not remember there was a time the camera crew was not there and why.. he might think they were always there... :(

  • @viksra Maybe he is to focused on everything else. idk. Thats strange.

  • he could watch the same youtube short over and over again for the rest of his life

  • how does he know how to speak?

  • @j2xdude Im pretty sure Amnesia is like that, you can still speak.

  • Sad story but I really admire his wife for dedicating her life to helping him.

  • Thatzz me!

  • oh has she.....

  • OMG that's me. I can remember arbitrary things but I can't remember things that are just told to me. I always dismissed it to ADD.

  • he talks like my dad
